Once I checked in on the kiosk it only took a few minutes to be called over to complete my check in. Once I finished and sat down it took 4 minutes before I was in the back getting x-rayed. The staff were all friendly and caring and had me in and out with ease. So far I've had great experiences with intermountain and hope it stays that way.

Garfield Memorial Hospital had good reviews so I went there. I live in a big city, I wasn't sure what to expect. What I found was the best emergency room of all time. Dr. Mooney and everyone I came in contact with took amazing care of me. Everyone was kind, thoughtful, and efficient. They made it possible for me to continue to take my mom on her dream vacation. While the nurse or EMT was given the Doctor information he said and I quote ' I don't really care" unquote, I turned to him and told him I had heard what you said. There was also a male nurse who was extremely rude. I felt like I had let everyone down in the ER and that my issue in getting help were unjustified. I do have to point out that there was a nurse who was very kind and compassionate. There was such a difference in the the way she treated me. It left a huge impact on me. She came in with a head…read moreinjury and only a CT was done, no eye tests or anything else even when she had obvious slurring and forgetfulness. After waiting for hours the doctor came back in saying she had concussion symptoms with no concussion? They tried to hurry us up but we were understandably concerned and confused so we asked over again what exactly that meant because that sounds like a concussion? When the doctor came back in she was extremely rude, staring with "so I heard we have some frustration on the diagnosis not being a concussion? Why is that?" In a snappy tone. After trying to explain why we were confused she said "are you a licensed medical professional? Do you know how to diagnose a concussion? Hm?" Nearly yelling at us. Then she said "it's been explained to you multiple times so I don't understand why you're still here" after trying to get any words in over the Doctor yelling over us we asked what she was supposed to do if she wasn't supposed to sustain another head injury if she's supposed to go to work the next day. She responded with "well maybe you need to decide if that job is worth it, you knew the risks." Then tried to compare her job to ours. Finally when we were fed up and left she just said "bye" in a terrible awful tone. Never coming here again because obviously the emergency department hires those with horrible attitudes and even worse care.

I was able to get an appointment in short order. The office staff was extremely professional and caring. When I saw the physician, he was very professional and he actually spent several minutes going over my medical issue. It was nice talking with a physician who actually cares. My medication was sent to the local pharmacy and I was home resting before I knew it. I'm glad Intermountain Health Care is here in our backyard and I will certainly be using their facility for any future needs (hoping, of course, those times are few and far between).
