A couple of weeks ago, some friends were visiting from out of town. I was about to turn left up Hampden Road and head back into town when suddenly I remembered a very important bit of infrastructure that deserved to be shown off. "Have you two seen Arthur Circus!?" "No..." "GREAT." So instead I turned right down Hampden Road and then swung a left, and then we did a couple of loops of Arthur Circus as I pointed out all the tiny little workers cottages that would easily sell for over a million bucks these days just due to the location. To be perfectly honest, I would likely pay that if I got my own little park in the middle of the roundabout created by the circular street, too. I've lived in Hobart for five years and I'm still absolutely TICKLED by Arthur Circus. If you're wandering Battery Point, don't miss a stroll down here.

On my last day in Hobart, I decided to walk around town. I walked towards Battery Point and then…read moredown to Sandy Bay towards the waterfront. Upon reaching the water, I encountered Errol Flynn Reserve. This is a park named after the old Hollywood actor who was born and grew up in the area. Walking around the park, you will see a 1909 sign. I believe the 1909 signifies the birth year that Flynn was born. The park is located next to the Sandy Bay Rowing Club. It is fronted by the Derwent River and you can see many boats on the water in the distance here. As it is by the water, the park is a mix of grass and sand. Though the sand is a bit dirty looking, so it isn't an ideal beach spot. But it seems like a fine place for you to dip your feet in the water. This spot also seems like a good place for dog walking as it is low-key and relatively quiet here. If you are looking for a chill place to walk around by the Derwent, this park is a good spot. It has a great view of the water and surrounding areas.

St. Georges Park is a park located in a residential area of Battery Point. The park is small as the…read morelot is comparable to the size of the houses it is located next to. This park seems oddly placed as a result since it is located sort of in the middle of the block as opposed to a corner lot like many parks. Nothing to see here. There is a small park walkway and a couple benches. It seems like a place for residents in the area to sit on a sunny day and relax. There are better parks in Hobart than this one, but it is a nice piece of green space in this neighborhood.
