This appears to be the primary park in the area as it takes up a whole city block. My first visit to this park was on the first days of winter in Australia. As such, there were indications of this as there were colored leaves on the ground. Though it was cold, there was still plenty of green trees around. The trees here were mostly pine, though I did see one palm tree as well. This is a great place to take a stroll as there are long walkways around the park. It is also a good place to lounge as there are a number of benches to sit on. If you work in the area, this seems like a good spot to enjoy a lunch break at when it is warm out. If you are looking for a park in the Hobart CBD to get some fresh air and sun, I would recommend St David's Park.

Perfect…read more The grass seems to be lush and green all twelve months of the year, and is just perfect for an afternoon nap or a weekend picnic with friends--feel free to make it a boozy picnic, because you're legally allowed to BYO to the park before 10pm any day of the week. It's such a huge space that I've never yet felt like I was encroaching on anyone else's space. Grab a bite to eat (maybe some fish and chips from the pier?) and enjoy a lazy summer evening in a picturesque corner of town.

Upon reaching the water, I encountered Errol Flynn Reserve. This is a park named after the old Hollywood actor who was born and grew up in the area. Walking around the park, you will see a 1909 sign. I believe the 1909 signifies the birth year that Flynn was born. The park is located next to the Sandy Bay Rowing Club. It is fronted by the Derwent River and you can see many boats on the water in the distance here. As it is by the water, the park is a mix of grass and sand. Though the sand is a bit dirty looking, so it isn't an ideal beach spot. But it seems like a fine place for you to dip your feet in the water. This spot also seems like a good place for dog walking as it is low-key and relatively quiet here. If you are looking for a chill place to walk around by the Derwent, this park is a good spot. It has a great view of the water and surrounding areas.

This park seems oddly placed as a result since it is located sort of in the middle of the block as opposed to a corner lot like many parks. Nothing to see here. There is a small park walkway and a couple benches. It seems like a place for residents in the area to sit on a sunny day and relax. There are better parks in Hobart than this one, but it is a nice piece of green space in this neighborhood.
