There were a handful of folks at the spacious outdoor bar, but surprisingly, no one was dining on the beach on this beautiful, warm summer day. Nicholas greeted us immediately and gave us the best recommendations for food and drinks. We settled on sushi and the pork sandwich, which came with a side cucumber salad (pickled veggies that included yummy spiralized cucumbers and carrots). For drinks, we chose a gin-based one and a coffee/chocolate iced one. Everything was delicious! The sushi roll was packed with fish and crunchy veggies and had a fresh, spicy kick. The pork sandwich had crunchy purple cabbage, edamame, and a great umami sauce. Highly recommend! If you arrive at the hotel with an appetite, definitely get over to Beauregard's as soon as possible. We had a great view of the beach and watched as snorkelers swam by. It was the best start to a great vacation.

The view.... Was amazing. Right next to the beach, reef and a weird set of waves that I thought was a whirlpool or riptide. I had Mahi Tuna tacos-9/10 & A shrimp taco- it was good but it didn't touch the mahi taco. Can't wait to go back for just the view alone. PS: this spot was extremely affordable and worth it. The tacos were $10-12.

Beauregard's - "Beauregard Bay". A tweak on the Gimlet. The added Grapefruit juice & Aeperol really mellows down the tartness. A must try for Gin lovers.

There is a beautiful outdoor dining courtyard option. Inside is open concept where you can see the chefs preparing the food! Our severe was phenomenal and knowledgeable about everything on the menu. Speedy and attentive and just so friendly. For appetizers we had the Octopus, the baked Brie, and the Conch Ceviche with fritters. Truly each of these dishes had something special about them and were all FANTASTIC! Presentation, texture, flavor all amazing. I still think about the Brie five days later writing this review. I wish I took more photos! For entree I had the steak. It was a New York Strip with house made chimichurri, and a sweet potato mash. Wow it was the best steak I've had in a long time. All the flavors on the plate complimented each other so beautifully. Again, I wish I took more pictures!! Dessert was a delight all on its own. The Crème Brûlée was smooooooth as can be. Not a single lump or bump. The plantain foster really did steal the spotlight on the dessert. It was warm and gooey and flavorful and perfect! There was some foster sauce left over that we ended up mixing with some crème brûlée and it was heaven. One of the intriguing aspects of this place was the chef was on the TV show 'Beat Bobby Flay'... iykyk. I definitely can see how he beat him. If you're on STX it's a must that you dine at 1756 Grotto! I will 100% be returning. More pictures next time ;)

Everything we had was delicious- the goat bolognaise, fish and chips with yuca fries, and fish special. We ate every bite! And then we got the plantain foster for dessert and the caramelization was absolute perfection. I would come back just to have desert in the charming courtyard (which is also set up for live music).
