I only know St. Bonaventure from seeing their girls varsity basketball team, coach and parents at a CIF playoff game. It was a unimpressive presentation. They were a visitng team and although they were favored, we looked forward to a good matchup. Little did I realize that this so-called "Catholic" school was made up of thugs who got among many other calls, a technical foul for unsportsman-like conduct (a home player was unnecessarily shoved into the sidelines AFTER she passed the ball) and a St. Bonaventure parent was ejected for disrupting the game. I completely understand that games get heated and people get excited, but their rudeness was unbelievable and unnecessary. I know that this type behavior is nowadays considered "normal" and accepted by some segments of society, but I feel this acceptance comes because no one calls out such behavior. Keep in mind, the entire time, St. Bonaventure was winning and did not need to take their behavior to the sewers of uncivility. All they had to do was play their good game and possibly still would win. They showed absolutely no class and already have a reputation for playing "dirty". If you are thinking of a good Catholic Christian education for your child and St. Bonaventure is on your list, you might want to take a long hard look at what type of conduct they encourage. They are preaching that it's okay to bully and to behave in an unChristian and primitive manner to win. read more
