The first fieldwork my supervisor had never supervised a student and she would talk about patients behind their backs among other unethical things. This supervisor decided to flunk me and the Stockton fieldwork coordinator did not listen to My grievance at all. In fact, I told the Stockton fieldwork coordinator that there was another OT there who agreed to become my new supervisor and she blew off that idea and gave me an incomplete for that fieldwork which meant I lost the money I paid for the fieldwork plus I had to repeat it. Don't handover a lot of money and waste time if your are not going to get the support if there is trouble at fieldwork.

Over the years I have utilized a page they have set up on Facebook for parents with questions. Parents (especially new empty nesters) have LOTS of questions. I find this page helpful to this day. When I have had to deal with staff in other capacities, they have always be pleasant & helpful. Parking seems to be the biggest issue at the school, there just isn't enough of it. That may be because they are one of the few schools that let freshman bring cars. Hopefully they will work those kinks out but in the interim, the education my daughter received completely negates the parking issue.

I attended OLMA for a year and a half during 9th and 10th grade in the early 90's. I was unable to…read morecomplete all four years of high school due to financial constraints. OLMA was an interesting experience for me. For starters, I'm not Catholic, so I leared a lot about Catholicism I hadn't known prior, despite having attended Mass with friends on countless occasions. Second, OLMA is an all girl's school. Let me tell you, young women act VERY different when there aren't boys around to compete with. The all girl's formula for learning is very effective in getting girls to come out of their shell. I LOVED not having to worry about what to wear every day and not having to worry about or compete with boys. OLMA is a small school, which is both a blessing and curse. It's just fine if you happen to get along with your classmates, but if you don't, you're in for a rough ride. I joined my class mid-year and wasn't welcomed with open arms. Several other students also joined later and were also given the cold shoulder. Like all high schools, OLMA is very clique-y... but it's more pronounced since it's such a small school. The cliques were divided into two groups- a: the anorexic bad girl cheer-leader types who got sent there so the nuns would set their daughters straight and b: the well behaved, studious good girls headed for college who never got in trouble. If you don't fall into either category, you may be in for a very lonely four years of school. Overall, I did enjoy my time at OLMA and the various activities we did that would have never happen in a big school. I also developed friendships with a few girls whom I recall with great fondness. The academics at OLMA are vigorous, but limited. Again, the curse of a small school is that choice is pretty much non-existant. Everyone takes the same classes, all paced the same way. Similarly, extra and co-curricular activities are also limited, with an emphasis on athletics. As a musician and artist, I found OLMA's offerings too limited for me. However, criticisms aside, I would happily send my children to OLMA if I thought there was a good personality match. The staff at OLMA are stern but loving and they give a good education. OLMA is definitely worth your consideration if you are interested in an all-girls high school education.

My husband and I are new to the area and prior to us relocating, I spent weeks searching for a day care that would provide proper care in a caring, hygienic and learning-focused environment. I drove about two hours round trip to visit four day care facilities in the area and called numerous more inquiring. Just asking around, three people in the area, two from the local school district, and another, an educator in the area, mentioned Jumpstart Academy and how this facility was the best in the area. When I went to Jumpstart, I was greeted by Caitlin and Mary at the front desk who were extremely informative and professional. Although I was ready to sign up immediately, there was a waitlist!! I was devastated! I even sent my husband to visit and see if they had a new accommodation but to no avail! Other day care facilities I visited looked dirty and had old equipment. The classrooms were massive with tons of kids running amuck and having seemingly no organization. One facility smelled like pure urine as you entered the foyer! I left a down payment with a chain school in the area where there had been a waitlist that opened up. I wasn't entirely happy, but it was better than most. I made a last ditch effort and called and spoke with Suzanne before I took the plunge and filled out the paperwork for the other school. Suzanne, the owner, is exceedingly sweet and no doubt about it, she cares about not only her employees, but the children as well. Her manner put me at ease immediately. She was extremely accommodating and told me to come in because she would have availability for my dear daughter. My sweetheart has been with Jumpstart for 3 months. She is always happy to go "to school" in the morning. We have the option of viewing her classroom in real-time online during the day. We also have the option of paying for a lunch each day with yummy options each week such as pizza, french toast with sausage and grilled cheese! The teachers Julie, Sam and Val have treated my dear so well and they are always so willing to tell me about how my daughter's day went. I am eternally grateful to have "stumbled" on this facility online because I would have NEVER come across it otherwise because it is well hidden gem just beyond the railroad tracks! To sum up this review, I highly recommend Jumpstart Academy for the discerning, obsessive, highly-strung parent, like myself. This has been one of the best decisions we have made since we moved to the area!

We go a little out of our way to drop our kids off there, because there's just no other place like it near us. The staff is friendly and courteous. The building is very clean and has a great layout: classrooms for all ages, a multi-purpose room for play, and a computer room. They even have a couple different outside play areas. The owner, Suzanne, really makes you feel like family and she has established an amazing educational environment. The staff even helps toddlers with potty-training, which is invaluable. As for curriculum, they operate off of themes for different weeks and have related activities for the kids (even the babies) to do. I've received some of the most precious works of art from my boys because of the hard work and dedication of the staff. We just can't say enough about this place. First class, all of the way!!!
