There seems to always be food to eat and time to linger afterwards. Charming stained glass windows in the sanctuary and situated on a peaceful street without any traffic. On Sundays, the Korean Catholic Community has mass here (in Korean) at 9 or 930am (I can't recall)…read more I mistakenly showed up early and did not realize English mass wasn't until 11am. I decided to sit in the Korean mass anyway. Though I couldn't understand much, I still sort of did know the parts of Mass - that's the beauty of being Catholic, isn't it? The Mass is consistent, regardless of language. The Korean community seems to be strong. Beautiful experience. I stayed for the 11am Mass in English. Very diverse congregation since it's a blend of the Korean-American and CCOP communities. Young adult leaders do music, read, serve. I think it's a great reflection of the tri-valley community. Father Gerald, who regularly presides, delivers great homilies relevant to young and old. No community is perfect. But I really enjoyed seeing the blended, diverse community at SES.

I attend the Pleasanton campus (aka the Crossings campus) and VBC has been my home church since 2019. What I love about VBC is that they teach directly from from the scriptures (currently in the book of Luke). Instead of having a main pastor who preaches every week, VBC has teaching pastors who rotate the message every week. Sunday services are at 9am and 11am and there is community time in between services where you can get to know one another. One of my personal check boxes is that a church needs to have great worship music. The worship band (lead by Dan Gillette) are thoroughly prepared each week and always play some of favorite worship music. The community of people at VBC are diverse and they are very welcoming. You can attend in person or watch services online.
