The music program is exceptionally strong, with top-notch directors and a roster of professional musicians that rivals those of NYC churches. Every Sunday they deliver concert-quality music, and there are opportunities for singing and playing handbells, at different levels, for anyone who would like to join. The program is excellent, somehow, without being exclusive or elitist. The Director of Children's and Youth Ministry, who runs the youth groups, is hilarious. The kids love him. He finds the right mix of games, lessons and fellowship to engage students, and ensures EVERY student feels welcome and part of the community. Last, but not least, the sermons are first-rate. From the pulpit, I want to learn something and be challenged to change something. I find that at RCB. The sermons are thought-provoking, assume (correctly) a high level of knowledge and sophistication of the congregation, and push each listener to reassess how his/her actions are reflective (or not reflective) of the week's Christian principle. We worried when we moved to the suburbs that we would not find a church that matched our family's differing interests and hopes for a faith community. We need not have. However, recent events of 2020 and the Corona virus have exposed the priests as FAKE. Their refusal to leave the rectory to give last rites to my dying mother was a real eye-opener. These priests are derelict in their duties. No Fr. Damiens among this crew. I'd imagine if I had devoted my life to the saving of souls, I would have leapt at the opportunity to give the last sacrament to a 50+ year parishioner. Shame, shame, shame on these priests. There are at least a few assigned there and NOT ONE would go to the hospital. And they all knew my mother personally. Their objections about restrictions from the hospital staff were exposed as lies by the hospital religious administrator that worked with us to find a priest from another parish that wasn't afraid to conduct their duties. They appear too comfortable in their cushy lives, in their swishy town to get down to the business of tending to the flock! If you are looking for a parish with priests committed to their faithful parishioners... keep walking.

The room they put us in (I think it was the fellowship hall) was okay but the ladies bathroom toilets were awful. The handicapped one was disabled & the other two barely flushed; apparently only one was working properly enough to use consistently. That toilet overflowed the second day I was here for the shoot. Furthermore, that stall did not have a bar for the toilet paper roll so you had to roll the paper very carefully to get it off without having the roll fall to the floor. Thankfully, one of the church reps directed me to a restroom with fully functioning toilets that was much nicer. They don't seem to have a parking lot here & I don't know if you can do street parking in this part of Mount Vernon but the church itself is easy enough to get to if you're going in the right direction on the one way road.

I could feel a great vibe as soon as I walked into the AMC movie theatre where they worship. I was greeted and welcomed with smiling faces who share their Faith and love for Jesus! Hello Church Family!…read more My husband and I visited this church while visiting our friend who attends this church. The sermon by Pastor Jay is so solid. I really felt nourished by both the Word delivered and the music played by one man on a guitar. It was all so wonderful and homey. The congregation is small and so so genuine. They have lunch provided by a member of the congregation directly after service followed by a wonderful bible study around 1pm. The service is at 10:30am. I highly recommend this church! We will certainly be back when we visit our friend! They were so so welcoming and sweet.

The sermons are not your typical topical sermons. They are gospel-focused, teaching through the whole Bible and not skipping around random verses every week. The children's pastor is also so great with the kids; feels like a real family. My kids love going to church every Sunday. I attended a large mega-church for 9 years, but have definitely grown more spiritually at this smaller church.
