History
Established in 1904.
The Well Church opened her doors as Bethany Church in 1904. In 1990, Bethany Well, a church plant from a megachurch in Wayne, NJ, joined Bethany Church and formed The Well Church. Located in Hackensack, New Jersey, The Well Church provides the time and space for people to gather for fellowship and meet their Creator.
Meet the Manager: Jay L.
Pastor Jay was installed as lead pastor of The WELL Church in 2015. Born in Bellefont, PA, Jay’s parent moved the family to Seoul, Korea when Jay was seven years old. Jumping into second grade in the Seoul public schools, Jay learners to both adapt to a new culture and speak the Korean language. Having experienced so much change in his own life, Jay understands what it means to be a “stranger in strange land,” a call for believers. A Nittany Lion through and through, Jay returned to Penn State, where he earned a B.S. in Computer Science in 1989. He went on to graduate from Stevens Institute of Technology (M.S., 1996), and worked 14 years in the IT sector,
leaving his post as VP at JP Morgan Chase in New York City, as God called him to ordain ministry. In 2007, Pastor Jay was ordained by the Evangelical Presbyterian Church after graduating from Alliance Theological Seminary. Pastor Jay is passionate about developing leaders and serve as a member of Arrow Leadership.
