We entered the emergency room and were given papers to fill out. After that they then gave us more papers with similar questions, so my s/o filled out what was important (as hes hunched over in pain) and gave the sheet back with spaces like religion unanswered. The women at the desk asked to finish it and after telling her (not yelling or being rude but upset bc hes been in pain), he was throwing up blood and really just needs a doctor now the "security" guy proceeded to rush from his station and yell, practically scream, right in our faces. Truly dont know why he was yelling, he was so mad his face was red and he couldn't even speak properly. I've never seen a security guard act this way and especially not with someone who just said they were throwing up blood. In a hospital you need compassion and understanding and this guy lacked both of these things. I called the cops immediately after he pushed himself closer and kept screaming at myself and my sick partner. We were advised by dispatch to distance ourselves until police arrived but instead now 4 security guys stood over us, cornered in the waiting room and blocking the only exit; and only moved when the sheriff's truck pulled up outside. Then explaining to the cops our side of the story, the 2/4 men proceeded to insert themselves until the police told them to back off. After our 3+ hour visit we asked for his name to make a proper complaint and were only given a card by the manager with a number to call and make a complaint with 'patient advocate'. If you are at common spirit or in the emergency department keep your eye out for the bald man with glasses who doesn't seem fully right in the head, he may just scream at you for being in pain. The nurses and doctor were very nice but security needs better hires and more training apparently. I was only going to make a proper complaint but since I cannot do that without the name of who I had a unpleasant interaction with im leaving this review on the chance nothing happens and he continues to act a fool. I thought women's healthcare was bad when I was younger but this is insane! Perhaps CommonSpirit St Anthony Summit Hospital should review this doctors bedside manner as well as their medical practices. This type of treatment is why women don't go to the hospital! It is unacceptable. Also tried calling their patient relations office (they usually list the number in answer to the bad reviews) only to get their voicemail, which again, just shows it's not about advocating for the patient. Get a human to answer the phone.

At that time, I attempted to pay my co-payment, but was informed by staff that no payment was required due to the transfer. At the ER, I paid a $200 co-payment on two consecutive days. Approximately one month later, I received a bill for an additional $25 co-payment. After learning that the initial information I was given may have been incorrect, I paid that balance. However, I have since received another bill for an additional $25. This experience has been frustrating, primarily due to the lack of clear and consistent communication about billing at the time of service. Patients rely on accurate information, especially during medical situations that are already stressful. I would appreciate greater transparency and improved coordination in billing practices to help prevent similar situations for others in the future. I have now noticed that I am not the first to complain about such a situation, perhaps you can do something about it rather than referring previous patients to the billing department who do not help resolve any issues. TRAIN THE STAFF at the facilities in how to be transparent about your billing and make sure they understand that you send bills for the provider SEPARATELY then the bills sent for the facility.

    This place ruined my life. Whoever runs this facility should seriously reevaluate who they consider…read morea doctor and whether they should even be allowed to offer healthcare at all. A few years ago, I was seen here by Dr. Bowen while experiencing severe flu-like symptoms. I also had a bite on my arm that appeared a few days before I became very sick. I specifically showed him the bite and asked whether it could be related to my symptoms. His response was "No, I think you just have COVID. Go to City Market and get a test." I was then sent out the back door. Why he couldn't test me there I have no idea.... I followed his instructions, got tested elsewhere, and the result was negative. Dr. Bowen was rude, dismissive, and made me feel uncomfortable, as if my symptoms weren't valid or worth taking seriously. Over the years that followed, my health continued to decline. I became progressively sicker. It has since been confirmed that I have chronic Lyme disease. Luckily I had taken a photo of the bite and when I showed the physician who diagnosed me with Lyme the same bite I had shown Dr. Bowen that day, they confirmed it was consistent with a Lyme tick bite along with proper testing. Had this been properly evaluated at the time, my illness may have been caught early and treated before progressing into a chronic, life-altering condition. Instead, I am now living with a lifelong disease that could potentially have been prevented with appropriate medical attention. The dismissal of my symptoms and the failure to investigate a possible tick-borne illness had serious and lasting consequences for my health. I cannot believe this is my reality now. I hope this review encourages more thorough evaluations and genuinely patient-centered care in the future, because what I experienced here was dismissive, incompetent, and a complete failure of medical care.

I'll need to pay for my own since I don't have any insurance to cover it. I was worried that I'll be having a problem on the fees, but as soon as I went in, the receptionist was very helpful and friendly, she explained and helped me through in working out the documents that I need to fill out which eased my anxiety. I also didn't wait long to be seen and triaged by the nurse. She was really friendly and very accommodating which again helped me to relax. Soon after she'd done her assessment and test, I was then seen by the PA. The PA was efficient, she did a thorough assessment on me and listened to me while I told my symptoms. She explained the possible cause and diagnosed me not too long. She was also able to answer my questions, then prescribed me the antibiotic that I needed. My overall experience was really good, I feel that the medical team really did a good job of helping me. I am so satisfied with the outcome of the treatment that I am happy that I went to the urgent care. Cheers to the medical team and the stuffs, you guys really did a good job!
