Old Faithful Septic Pump Service

Old Faithful Septic Pump Service

I have lived in TN for 3 years now. It is so incredibly hard to get professional services to even…read moreanswer the phones most of the time let alone show up and do a good job. We found old faithful to be honest, on time, professional and so helpful. We have had them come out 3 xs now for different projects and each time have helped us tremendously. They have shown up when they said they were going to, done the job they said they were going to do and at reasonable prices.

I needed a septic tank pumped, so I called Old faithful. They said it would be 275$ to pump a 1000…read moregallon tank. They said they would come at 8:30 on Wednesday morning. However they did not show up until 10:15 with no call saying why they are running late. They came and said that the tank was a sealed tank that they would come the next day and drill a hole. That same day after they left the renter at the property noticed that there was a lid but it was farther over to the right -- this was later in the day. So I and my dad figured we would tell them when they would call the next day that were coming -- because they said they would call when they are coming. They did not call. They showed up UNANNOUNCED and started drilling a hole in the tank. Which did not need to be done if they would have just called. They screwed us over by: not showing up on time, not communicating, performing work that was unnecessary, and charging astronomical amounts. Ended up paying close to 600$. And to beat it all off the day they drilled hole they said they couldn't put a plug in it because they forgot it. That they would show up Friday and put it in, they did not show up. They didn't even complete the crappy job they did! All because they scammed us. Do not us this company, they are not worth it. I do not recommend them!

What really impressed me is that I was able to talk with the owner several times and he wanted to make sure that we were satisfied with their work. Thanks to Robert and his team. I recently needed an emergency plumbing repair at my rental property in Johnson City, TN. The…read moredrywall was already opened, and the problem was an accessible copper pipe with a pinhole leak. Roto-Rooter initially quoted me $800, then generously offered what felt like an insulting "discount" that brought the price down to $672. The technician completed the repair, took pictures, and prepared the invoice in approximately 50 minutes. Let that sink in. $672 for less than an hour on-site, including paperwork. Afterward, I spoke with other local plumbing contractors who indicated that a comparable repair would typically cost approximately $300-$350. Unfortunately, those contractors weren't available when I needed immediate assistance. I understand that emergency service comes at a premium. I have a background in the electrical construction industry, so I'm familiar with labor rates, overhead, materials, and what it takes to operate a contracting business. However, there's a difference between charging a reasonable premium for emergency service and pricing that feels excessive for the work performed. To make matters worse, this was the same technician I previously paid $189 to address a drain issue that was never fully resolved. Between these two visits, I've spent $861 and am left deeply dissatisfied with the value received. My advice to anyone considering Roto-Rooter: LEARN FROM MY EXPERIENCE. Unless your house is actively flooding and you cannot safely contain the situation, take the time to call multiple local plumbers before agreeing to their pricing. I sincerely regret not doing so. While the technician successfully repaired the pipe, I cannot recommend Roto-Rooter based on my experience. Prompt service is valuable, but it does not automatically justify any price a company chooses to charge. To Roto-Rooter management: You're welcome to contact me directly to discuss these charges and whether a reasonable price adjustment is warranted. I'd appreciate an opportunity to resolve my dissatisfaction. Until then, I'll be sharing my experience so other homeowners and landlords can make informed decisions before spending their hard-earned money. One expensive lesson learned. I will not be using Roto-Rooter again.
