Love Love Love my new little Yeti roadie 8 cooler in Rescue Red!…read more I needed a new small cooler that was perfect for day trips out & about & the little "Yeti roadie 8 in Rescue Red" is just perfection. La vie en rose OuiOui. It holds up to 12 cans or just a few with some Sammy's/Foods. Perfect for a short trip to the beach also. I don't like to carry a lot & my other yeti is just too heavy for me to carry, so this one is perfect for trips by myself or with Sir Hubbers. It comes in tons of colors but I looked around & decided the Rescue Red was the one I needed to Rescue! Hahahaha. We usually stop in here for Sir Hubbers athletic socks and/or golf balls, somehow he loses a lot of both lol However, we usually find some fun casual t-shirts, caps, & fun camping gear here also OuiOui. We have a fun little gas Coleman gas stove we take camping. We usually get the little fuel containers here for it. There is also TONS of fishing gear, something for everyone, a complete sportsman's paradise. This store is always very nicely organized & clean. Service always comes with a smile :) That's what keeps us coming back! "Capture the Fun" at Academy! hahahah. Highest Recommendations:

First time I went in just after moving and the young man suggested the Tampa running magazine and explained about how races are set up. He then walked me around and pointed out how the store could help me as an athlete. Very helpful! Then I just walked around and looked at products and shopped for items I was considering. I found the energy enhancers I was looking for to help me with my races and he assisted me with a few products I wanted to try. My second visit, I had a yelp coupon and was able to buy a pair of shoes and get $20 off the shoes. Fantastic! I didn't even need to buy the coupon, they just gave it to me. What?! Great shoes, great service!

Additionally, Feet First has a 30 day guarantee on their shoes for any time you have buyer's remorse. I also want to share a small anecdote that demonstrates the nature of this store. I have a pair of Shokz OpenRun headphones, but I lost the proprietary charger when I moved here. I asked the person running the store if they sold the charger for these headphones since they sell the headphones themselves. They unfortunately did not sell them, but the woman gave me one of her extra chargers at no cost. Wow! They have my business for life!

I put the call out on social media and searched Yelp (of course) to see if there was a swim shop on 4th Street, as I did not have time to travel to Tyrone to one of the big box sporting goods stores. Luckily, Swim Zone came to the rescue. This shop is small and tucked away in a somewhat run-down strip of stores, but they have a good selection of swim gear for adults and children. The lady working in the store was very friendly and helpful, and I found a Dolfin brand jammers suit for my son in the clearance bin! They had a pretty good amount of kids swim stuff in the clearance bin which you just have to dig through. I was so relieved to find this little swim shop on north Fourth. It's great to find local shops in the neighborhood and not have to drive across town to an over-priced impersonal chain. I will definitely be back to Swim Zone when I need new goggles or another suit for my kids.

Something about giving a second life to a preloved item just feels so right. Play It Again Sports is a Mecca of preloved sporting gear/toys. My most cherished possession from Play It Again is my rollerblades. I use these blades almost daily. I like to think at some point they belonged to a 10 year old boy named Tommy. I'm really hopeful that Tommy got some fun mems with them, and even more than that I am grateful that Tommy's mom relinquished them to Play It Again at some point. The staff are super friendly and helpful. I like to call the store to inquire whether they have what I'm looking for and they are always so diligent and communicate so clearly and in great detail what it is they have that might meet my request. They are keen to sports, meaning they actually have a lot of knowledge that would be helpful if you have questions about gear specifics. The best part of shopping second hand (unless you're like me and genuinely believe in the sustainability factor) is obviously the deal. The prices cannot be beat..seriously. The blades I previously mentioned would have cost at least $45.00 from a box store or Amazon AND I would have had to wait up to a week to get them, because believe it or not rollerblades are not kept on shelves regularly. At Play It Again I spent $25 for 2 pairs of rollerblades, 1 kids size (Tommy's) and 1 regular adult women's size (I believe they probably belonged to a Meredith). Both blades got some serious sanitization and the bearings got a little cleaning and some lubricant, after that they were ready to roll. I cannot recommend this store enough. Especially if you're looking for something super specific and in a time crunch.
