Needed some 209 primers in a bind. Stopped by the store, they didn't have any for sale but a guy there (owner manager not sure) ran back somewhere and just gave me this box. Besides the kindness and good deed the store was nice and clean, good mix of tactical and sporting stuff. Based on some pictures on the wall these guys seem to hunt deer on public land in Florida successfully which is no easy feat. I am looking forward to coming back, buying some guns, and maybe even learning a thing or two. read more

I have nothing but AMAZING things to say about this place!!! If you are ever in the market for a new firearm, CHECK HERE FIRST!!! About a week ago I sent Cracker Boys a Facebook message asking if they were able to find a specific pistol that had been discontinued. They responded very quickly that unfortunately they were no longer able to order the gun I was looking for from any of their distributors. Ok, I can understand that...I appreciated their prompt and honest response. But the excellent customer service didn't stop there...they responded that they will do their best to find something I liked, they they "were on a mission." For the first time, after contacting at least 3 other places, I got more than just a "nope" but rather someone willing to go above and beyond. The next day I hadn't heard back so I figured they got busy and forgot about me. I was wrong! They had been searching for the perfect firearm that was close to what I originally requested, and sent me a message midday with something that I liked even better! I went in on a Friday to place the order & by the following Tuesday I had my new gun in hand. I really couldn't be more pleased!!!! Support your local small businesses. Cracker Boys has a large selection on hand or can special order for other picky shoppers like myself. It really is the only place to go as far as I'm concerned! read more

Terrible customer service and price gougers. tried to sell a 45 not going to mention which, for $600-700$ which is fair resale value considering I added a few things to it. Guy said my price and offers me $400.... WTF. Then I said Gun Trader Den offered me $700. Guy didn't even try to meet me in the middle and got his feelings hurt and said "by all means go ahead and sell it to Gun Trader Den". I would suggest buying your weapons somewhere else. read more

I stopped in on my lunch hour to purchase 10mm ammo, and the Asian-American guy behind the counter supplied 2 boxes with orange pricetags on them that read $18.99. I made the mistake of having a brief conversation with another store employee about a Winchester 30-30 with a musket stock, and while doing so the guy dealing with me ripped off the stickers and charged me $25/box. I paid it, as those same boxes are going for $35-$40 everywhere else, but he still ripped me off for $12, then lied to my face when I asked him about the price tags he'd just removed. So you lost my business over $12. Spend it wisely. read more

Ended up just walking out. Employees don't even acknowledge your presence as you come in the door. Then you wander aimlessly and still no one checks on you. One employee in the back just chitchatting with somebody throwing out profanities every other word so be sure not to bring any children in. I'm not sure this place could have been worse if they tried, and it kind of felt like they tried. I called to ask if they could drill and tap a Mauser k98(not a yugo or bent-bolt or anything) for a scope, sure says the guy. I drive 20 minutes to bring it in, he looks at the rifle, mentions that the current optic will need to come off, yes sure I expected this. I'm wait for a receipt or some paperwork that acknowledges that I'm leaving an antique rifle at the shop, I figure there must be some paperwork they are waiting on. After about 15 minutes I asked the guy where we were in the process because I have to be somewhere, he replies that we're good to go. What? I ask what I've been waiting for and he says, "I just thought you liked to talk". My dude, I felt unwelcome here to begin with I would not be hanging around talking to your surly self. So I ask for a receipt and they give me a little stub like I dropped off drycleaning. Whatever. He said their gunsmith comes in once a week so let's fast-forward 10 days to when I call to check the status. Someone, not sure if it's the same guy says they are having trouble finding the right mounts and I should come pick it up, I go the next day on another 40 minute round trip. I get there and my rifle case is sitting out on the counter unzipped with three or so customers around the store. I hand them my little stub and say I'm taking my rifle, the taller dude impatiently says see what happened was we couldn't find the right mounts and points to areas that aren't level on the receiver. My sweet sweet angel, I know that you need special mounts, I really appreciate being talked down to though. I brought this here because I didn't want to order the mount and you said a week turnaround. I've got the mounts coming in the mail currently and I didn't have any trouble finding them since it's a completely standard 1936 Mauser Karabiner Kurtz in a sporting stock. This shop is a big old stinky deuce of bad customer service. I very much do not recommend their gunsmithing or the vendor in general. Awfully done fellas. Also they sell suppressors, so pew pew. read more

Absolute price gougers. Worst offenders in the Tampa Bay Area. Called in for a price quote on ammo. Walked in 4hrs later & guy behind counter marks up quote $150 more! I have previously purchased three firearms from Cracker Boys and brought my dad to them when he moved down here. On 2/12 I ordered a set of Trijicon night sights and was told they would arrive within a week and take approximately 30 minutes to install. On 2/17 I received a call that they were in and brought them my slide for installation. They were quite busy and said they'd have it ready the next day. They didn't, I called an hour before closing and was told they hadn't got to it, but it would definitely be done the next day. I got a call the next day explaining that they broke the front sight and had to order another one. A week later, on 2/26, I called to see what was going on. I was told that they weren't sure when the replacement would be in. After asking that they find out, I received a return call stating that they would have them within five days. On 3/11, well after five days, I got a call that the front sight had arrived and my slide was ready. When I picked it up the front dovetail had been scraped down to mostly bare metal during the installation. There was another bare patch on the right side of the slide from where it been in the vise, as well as a scratch by the rear dovetail. When I asked what happened to my Cerakote, I was told that it was "unavoidable" because of the size disparity between the Trijicons and the stock Sig sights. After going back and forth for about half an hour I just took my slide and left. They did offer to help me out getting it touched up. Unfortunately, with a two-part heat cured finish that's not really possible. Now I basically have a really nice set of sights on a really terrible looking slide. Thanks guys. Addendum 3/12/15 - Cracker Boys reimbursed me the 75.00 it will cost to have my Sig refinished. read more

I couldn't disagree with the previous reviewer more. Seems to have had some sort of buyer's remorse and been uncomfortable with a quality firearm when he saw the manufacturer called it a "Lady Hunter". The only thing that made it that specific model is it's lighter weight and has a shorter length of pull to compensate for a female frame with shorter arms (which doesn't make it a female rifle, just more compact). My experiences with Cracker Boys have been better than any other gun store. Great atmosphere, knowledgeable staff (competition shooters, hunters, enthusiasts), huge inventory and fair prices. They take their time with you to answer all your questions and if you ask for their advise, they will give you their sound expert opinion. I will continue to go here for all my firearms and firearm accessory needs! read more

I would have picked zero stars if it was an option. Unless you want to be looked at as just 'a sale' even though you're a repeat customer, don't bother wasting your time shopping here. I recently bought a Savage .270 (for $800, well over the price at other local gun shops, I come to find out) and in the store while I was checking it out, I inquired why it seemed so small and was told 'it's just a compact .270' by the sales person. After getting the rifle home I started filling out the warranty information and when it asked for the model type, I checked the box for the info and it read- Savage Model 111 'Lady Hunter'. Ahhhh. So that's why I was told it was a 'compact .270'. Makes sense now. I instantly called Cracker Boys and told them what the issue was- coincidentally talked to the guy who made the sale and he said that once a gun leaves the property it's considered 'used' even though I left there 20 minutes prior and didn't even load a round in the chamber much less touch it much- it was completely as it was when I left a little bit before. I brought the rifle back, and was told what could be done is I could sell it back to them as a used rifle for $500 and they would turn around and sell it for $636, but it's okay, I could use the $500 toward a new rifle thru them. Wait? So I lose $300 of the top and I get no consideration of the situation when it came to a new rifle costing anywhere between $800-$1000? I was told that pretty much was the case. So in a recap, They sold a rifle for $798, bought it back a hour later for $500, and then are going to resell it for $636 (per the salesman). That's quite a profit on one rifle at a repeat customers expense. Pretty shady. I left Cracker Boys and went to Bill Jackson's (Originally I went to Cracker Boys because it was a smaller business and I like to support that type of thing.) and the people in the firearm department were amazed at what they did at Cracker Boys and their business practices. You should never let a customer leave- Especially a repeat customer, when they are unsatisfied with something. You should try to make it right, which they made no attempt. As a firearm lover and hunter, I will be shopping elsewhere for the 6+ firearm purchases I plan to make in the next year. I hope that $300 they made off of me was worth it to them. Avoid this place- there are tons of firearm dealers (with better prices and selection too) within 5 miles. Very unhappy and unsatisfied as a customer. read more
