This is the only running store in Pinellas that I could ever give my business to. I've bought two pairs of shoes from them so far, and each time I was met with extremely caring and knowledgeable folks who helped me find the perfect pair. Additionally, Feet First has a 30 day guarantee on their shoes for any time you have buyer's remorse. I also want to share a small anecdote that demonstrates the nature of this store. I have a pair of Shokz OpenRun headphones, but I lost the proprietary charger when I moved here. I asked the person running the store if they sold the charger for these headphones since they sell the headphones themselves. Had a great experience today at Feet First. Went in looking for a shoe that is good for high arches because my current Brooks shoes are not comfortable and make my feet ache. Ryan was very helpful in that he listened to my issues, educated me on what shoes would be good for me, recommended some different options and gave me the best one to try on. I didn't even have to try on any more after his first recommendation because it was incredibly comfortable. I finally made a plan to get decent walking shoes as my walking partner and I walk up to 7 miles daily. I have never received such amazing and knowledgeable service in a shoe store as I did from Missy. She was able to size up my walking partner immediately. We are both big women with high arches and thin, long feet. She has you try several pairs and walk in the most comfortable. Then she used a level, which no one has ever done for us. I learned I needed an insert on one side. After 1 week my right hip pain is nearly gone! I can not praise this woman enough she is smart and caring. Missy did an incredible job of diagnosing my foot issues from an accident. I was unable to walk properly after surgery from an opthopedic surgeon yet after fifteen minutes with Missy I was placed in the correct shoe with the appropriate orthodics. Feet First really came through for me. I've been to the Bay to Bay store more often than the St. Pete location wanted to write about my experience with Chris from the St. Pete location. My first experience was at the Bay to Bay store. I had just started running and was having horrible leg pain. I went in and got fitted. I ran the next day pain-free (well, as pain free as running can be). So, when it came time to get shoes for cross fit, I chose Feet First. I had done my internet research and decided on a Reebok. I messaged Feet First on Facebook and Chris was fast to respond. They didn't have the shoe in stock but they'd order it. He asked me to come in and try on a shoe of a similar fit but I always wear a 7.5 so I didn't. The shoes didn't fit. I felt like an idiot. Chris was patient with me and my impatience on waiting for them delivered (shouldn't we be teleporting products at this point). Though I'm 100% sure I was annoying Chris never made me feel like I was being a pest. I'll be going back to Feet First. Very helpful and gave me the yelp discount with a smile! Will definitely shop their again. They also gave me useful information for races coming. :) Both times I went the staff was knowledgeable and helpful. First time I went in just after moving and the young man suggested the Tampa running magazine and explained about how races are set up. He then walked me around and pointed out how the store could help me as an athlete. Very helpful! Then I just walked around and looked at products and shopped for items I was considering. I found the energy enhancers I was looking for to help me with my races and he assisted me with a few products I wanted to try. My wife, my daughter and I have shopped it feet first multiple times over the last few years and have been extremely satisfied each time! Personally, I have been struggling with plantar fasciitis for several years with several trips to podiatrist etcetera. I had a great experience. I came in with my running socks. I've mentioned to the sales ladies my concerns and what my feet are like and they were able to give me choices of shoes. I was told that I needed some stability for my feet and therefore, I tried their top 3 choices on. I was given some inserts to try as well. I have been to a store with such knowledgable staff. Each time I have visited, the staff member assisting us is an avid runner. This is so helpful when looking for specific running shoes for myself or my teenager. They are knowledgable about your wants and needs regarding shoe needs. I am impressed. They never stock ANY men's shoes in a size smaller than 8. I fail to believe that i'm the only person in the world (or even Saint Pete) with a foot "that small." What to do? I have been to this store a few times over the last 3 years. Every time I go in, I have immediate help in picking out the right shoe or sandal for my foot and arch. The owner staffs the store with well-educated salespeople with a specific knowledge in running shoes. A woman by the name of Missy (I think) took a lot of time watching how I walk. She was an expert in assessing a person's step and what type of support they need in a shoe. I was also informed of what type of insole to use which was helpful since there are so many on the market. Needed new cross training shows and this store had good reviews and was the closest one to us, so we gave it a try. When we walked in they were very nice and welcoming, so I was expecting things go well. I had been fitted before so I basically knew what I needed, but was still expecting to be measured again, watch how I walked, analyze my steps, etc. and find the best shoe for me. None of that happened, she just asked my size and grabbed a bunch of boxes and asked me how the felt. I specifically asked when I walked in if they helped fit for shoes, but maybe she didn't know what that meant. The person I was with had never been fitted for shoes before, made that known, and still nothing. In fact after she pulled down 3 boxes of shoes for them she went to the register to play on her cell phone, while the other employee who was there played solitaire on the computer, and I basically had to help them find shoes that fit. We ended up buying shoes because I had worn a hole in mine and needed a new pair, and loved the pair that I found, but next time I'll try a different store and will make sure to let everyone know about the experience here. read more
