Horrible!!!! Have you ever been loyal to a business whether it be just a neighborhood spot or a nice family business and then find out they have no loyalty to any of the patrons or to the neighborhood? This owner is one that only wants your money! I have have been coming to this store since I moved to Riverview 3 years ago. Once I find a place that is convenient and seems friendly, I make that my place. I come in and the owner has always seemed pretty cordial and has only showed his true colors when challenges have come in. After hurricane Ian, he opened when the power was out and that was appreciated but attempting to patronize his establishment, he made everyone feel like criminals. He allowed people in one at a time then shined a blindly bright flashlight into his regular customers faces and followed them around as if he doesn't have cameras and mirrors where he could literally already see every move you're making. Ok. No big deal. Can't fault a business ower for being extra cautious. My next encounter was hearbreaking. I came in and bought quite a few of the coolers and cocktails that I normally purchase. I live only a few blocks away. When i got home I brought the bag in and sat it on the counter. I proceeded to get dinner on and a couple of other things. I came back to the bag to put the items in the refridgerator and noticed the grocery bag as filled with liquid. I refrigeratored the other items and looked at the clock and it was around the time they would close. I had been home by this time for maybe 2 hours. I thought it would be okay to bring the (one) item to him the next day when they open to show him that one had a leak and I didn't get to enjoy it. They were 2 for $5 so not a huge deal right? I went back the next day and took him the one can, still inside the bag, still with liquid in it. I showed the person at the counter there was literally no where you can identify a leak. The tab had not been touched. He called for the owner and the owner told me they can't replace it right away. As I was attempting to explain to him that i was just looking for an exchange and to purchase more items, he began screaming at me and saying he didn't know why i was trying this???? It was so weird because this was not the same guy that seemed friendly all those times I came in and we joked, while I was spending money. Now I am a female and standing her with 3 men in front of me and this owner screaming at me as if I'm some crackhead trying to get over. I told him simply he would be able to send it back to the manufacturer and get credit because it was clearly defective, as having been a business owner myself. He kept telling me $2.50 was not a big deal but there's no way his business would ever have anything defective. As we all know, happens from time to time. This turned into a nightmare. I was scared, intimidate, shocked, confused and simply disappointed. He ended up screaming at his employee to just give me a $2 discount and don't ever give me a discount again as if i come in here once a week begging or something. I make great money and have never in my life been treated as if I was scum, especially with a business that I regularly patronize. He is clearly a greedy, penny pinching scum business owner that doesn't mind taken our money but doesn't value the people that help him to put food on his table. It was disgusting! Don't give him any of your hard earned money! There are plenty of establishments that will show you appreciation for your loyalty! Teach him that you can't do business like this in our area! He'a s real piece of work! Go to liquor split! They are extra friendly, honestly good people AND they deliver! read more
