Avoid this place at all costs...... I went in for an appointment 9 weeks ago to the day. I had one 10 min microdermabrasion treatment and my skin is still red today, with no sign of getting better. I've just requested an appointment with a Consultant Dermatologist i'm so worried. The Appointment: First, they had no record of my appointment when i arrived. I was left out in a corridor while they figured it out (they had me in for the wrong day). My consultation consisted me filling out a form and a 2 min chat while the therapist looked at my areas of concern. Then i was told the person who could use the machine necessary for some of the concerns i had booked about wasn't there. The therapist then used what i think was a microdermabrasion machine (i was never told) on one area of concern, but kept using it even after i said it was starting to hurt. Then she tried to charge me full price of €90 (we eventually settled on half price, which i stupidly paid). I was rushed out as someone else was waiting. Afterwards: I was worried immediately about the area treated and took photos for days after. 4 days later i sent first email detailing above and sent the photos and voiced my concern. The response: i was asked to pay the outstanding amount for the treatment!!! I was also told to follow the aftercare given by my therapist (id been given nothing and had to ask for it). Then i was told to come back in 2 weeks (at what i could only assume was full price). For the next few weeks i continued to keep in contact with Vitality, voicing my concerns and sending photos as time went on. I was told a second time to pay the outstanding amount. I was asked to fill in a complaint form. I received a phone call where, when i asked again was there anything i could use to reduce the redness, she mentioned a cream that might work (which in fairness she did post me free of charge). It didn't work. I have never received an apology. At all times i felt my concerns were not to be taken seriously and that they were more worried about getting their money then they were with my well being. Went to Vitality Centre last week to start a course of treatments. The facilities are really nice and the staff at reception is very friendly. On arrival, there is also a big comfortable waiting area where you can enjoy teas or coffee. I was very impressed with how clean and private the clinic is! As expected, my appointment started on time. Kudos to Dr. Flannery as she is very kind and knowledgeable and at all times made sure to check on my comfort while the treatment was being done. She also answered all my questions and explained the procedure to me in detail which made me feel very comfortable and informed. I had an appointment to have a simple colonic, they made me wait 40 min in the waiting room and I could not feel more uncomfortable in that place, they don't even have a proper reception or a person who welcome you, it is in the basement of a building and even the place is clean, it doesn't look friendly. I almost felt I was bothering the person who had to do the treatment. I had been reading a lot about colonics and asking people who had experience with it and I can say that I could easily but the machine and do it on my own cause she did nothing other than pressing a bottom to start it (I turned everything off on my own) When I arrived, in my 40 min wait, the woman made me fill a paper and at the end, there was a survey of my experience in the centre that I didn't complete because I was supposed to wait till I was finished but she made me sign everything but without completing the survey so I assume she made me "the favor" of doing it all on her own. The way she treated me was very cold and again, I felt so uncomfortable, I don't recommend anybody to go there. At the end, I asked for my receipt and she said she couldn't give it to me at the moment but that she would e mail it to me. She never did so I called and she told me to send an e mail to formally request it. REALLY?? I gave up, don't care about the receipt anymore but I am definitely not coming back there and I encourage people to go to a more professional and friendly centre to get these delicate treatments. read more
