I was at Kohl's with another combat vet when the county set off the tornado siren test. It is the…read moreexact same sound that warns of incoming in Iraq and Afghanistan. It caused a flashback with the vet that I was with. There was an employee nearby who came right over to see if we were okay. I explained what was going on and she kept asking if she could do anything. Unfortunately, there isn't, ya can only wait it out. She still came back with a cup of cold water. I have always loved Kohl's, but this level of compassion is awesome; especially when we're used to people avoiding or looking at us weird when things happen.
