Simply Refreshing! Very reasonable pricing and a high quality product for the money seems to be the cornerstone of this business model. I don't know who Simply Barbara's buyer is and have never met "Barbara' but they do a heck of a lot better job than 70% of the stores out there. Janie C who gave the place a poor review actually based all of her 300 word rant in a "he-said she-said mode". All of it related to her one year old "bling" glasses, and her discussion with a man at a booth at a state fair! I don't doubt that Janie met someone at the fair and had a run in. The fact is Attitude begets Attitude. Rise above it Girl. If you want a true accounting of any store....Go there. Buy something other than inexpensive "bling" glasses that you beat up for a year by your own admission. Only then can you render a real first hand opinion. Then compose a review that doesn't sound like some jilted prom queen. We actually went there. Several times. We actually bought a lot of clothing and accessories. Some of it "Bling"... some of it serious. It is all first class. It's priced right. The beautiful, unique merchandise was represented by a woman named Judy who was very helpful, well versed and articulate. A joy to be around creating a great buying experience. Highly recommended. In-house framing service and above is a professional photo studio. There's a smattering of antique and flea market type items sold here with prices definitely on the higher side of things, but still a good variety of items. Notable collection of vintage children's clothing (especially dresses and coats). Tiny selection of gourmet food and drink up front, which was probably the most impressive part of the stop for me. This is to the right on entry, and included a range of nicer cheeses and a pretty good mix of Fentiman's beverages. I'd probably rate this store higher but I overheard the man working there asking other shoppers where they came from -- and then talking negatively about their towns in this region. That is a huge *no* in my book and was the main reason I cut my visit short. Still, this is probably a great place to check out for some of the finer things in life if you live in southeast Kansas.

As I was scouting the scene, there was a rack of sale items out front with an open door. I glanced at the sale items and thought "hmm", and kept right on going. Inside the floors were smooth, items were well lit enough but not especially bright. Music was playing and conversations could be had without yelling, quite a plus. The staff greeted us and went back to their tasks. Now here is where shopping got enjoyable! Clothing was arranged in color mated sections. Think a tad like geranimals for you of a certain age! I was looking for a flowy, embroidered shirt. I found an absolutely gorgeous dress, exactly in this style, that could have been worn with leggings and boots. I search a bit more and found yet another shirt that was what I wanted. The more I looked, the more I found. I bought a round of purchases and have been fighting my entire trip not to go back in and buy more. They do not stock large numbers of the same item. Pretty much, one of each size, and then you are out of luck! **Accessibility Thoughts** The floors are smooth, dressing rooms have curtains and the door is fairly easy to open. This fashion-forward women's clothing boutique boasts lines that I usually can only find online: Keepsake, For Love and Lemons, Wildfox, and Nightcap, just to name a few. I found a killer dress on huge sale, which I couldn't pass up, along with an awesome pair of high-waisted jeans that felt as comfy as pjs. If I lived in SGF, I could see my bank account slowly dwindling as a result of frequent visits to this gem. I easily could have left with more than just two items, but lucky for my wallet, I was limited to one carry-on bag so I couldn't take home too many scores. The sales associates were super friendly as well, which made the experience all-around awesome. I'm totally envious of all you SGF locals who are spoiled by this amazing shop on a regular basis... you better believe Staxx will be on my "must visit" list next time I travel to Springfield.
