Wow, what a beautiful park and campground just off the Mountain Loop Highway! This spot had been on our camping bucket list for the past year, and we were excited to finally make the trek out there this summer in the ol' travel trailer.
We found a beautiful site amidst the trees, and were quickly set up and ready to explore. The sites here are large, level, and not right on top of each other. And the trees, oh the trees! So many big, beautiful trees made this spot amazingly serene and peaceful. There's also a creek running through the campground, with a couple of (reservable) large picnic shelters alongside it for day use.
This is a great campground for tenting or a 1-2 day RV trip - but there are no hookups, and with all the shade (which we appreciated in the warm weather), solar isn't really an option. The nearest dump station is about 6 miles away in Darrington. Looking for full hookups? Nearby Whitehorse County Park is a decent option. read more
