Fireside Dining - Meat for the raclette station

That raclette melted cheese served with traditional potatoes, cornichons, grainy French mustard,…read morefresh bread, and more is outstanding. What a way to bring the Alps to Utah! Dinner is served at four differently themed stations and everything was delicious. We just can't stop talking about the raclette cheese station and what a great meal this was. Thank you!

This was "mid" for me! Very mid! Debated on two or three stars. Service was good. They were almost…read moreclearing plates a little too hastily. Our server was great and hostess and valet were also great . That's what gave this experience the stars is the staff ... While the food was good quality and actually cooked by chefs and not just assembled from a Sysco truck, I was very underwhelmed because of the temperature of the food. I'm usually not the one in our family who cares most about this but with the "elevated dining" I expected more ... like warm food! It doesn't have to be hot but everything fireside was at best room-temperature. Then the dessert fondue was too runny and never formed a layer over what I was attempting to coat. Because of this I really debated between only two stars over three stars, but as I said the food is high quality and the presentation is cool, but the execution is majorly lacking. Especially with what is expected of Deer Valley and an elevated experience for $$$$. Also, there isn't a dress code, which is fine. Except one woman was dress in her ski underclothes and her Moonboots and that's it. I mean, clothes should be expected, not one step up from PJs or sweats. And I do understand this is a family restaurant, I have kids. Kids can go to the buffet alone and behave like they're in a restaurant, but kids were playing tag and running around and hanging off people's tables that weren't their parents; I know the restaurant can't control kids, but a manager should be able to inform people of this disturbance. Or maybe it should be deemed as family dining and not an elevated experience because of elevated I'd expect to enjoy the time without someone else's kids checking out what's on my plate. The ClifsNotes: Elevated experiences should have warm food, people in clothing, and behaved/monitored kids.

I've been here a few times for events but this is the first time I went for happy hour. The lemon…read moredrink was so good! Then we also had the fry platter with plenty of dipping options. The seating was plentiful and it was a nice atmosphere. Then we decided to go to the wine tasting event downstairs. Not only did we meet amazing people but the wine was good! For dinner I had chicken skewers and a Caesar salad. The skewers were so good!!!! But the salad was very strange. It had almond dust or something. And vinaigrette and not the normal dressing. All in all it was a great night and I look forward to going again. I will note the prices are high.

Cool, now let's get to the real reason I'm leaving a 5-star review: the CAESAR SALAD. Holy cow. This Caesar was the Caesar of my dreams. It was dressed to perfection with crumbled croutons and a generous serving of cheese. The photos speak for themselves. Our bartender even went to the kitchen to fetch peperoncino for us since we wanted a "PeperTini". Great service in a beautiful space. It's on the pricey side but makes for a really great night out that feels exclusive and boujee.

As we started the ascent to the restaurant, we realized we were probably under dressed. That being…read moresaid the receptionist and waiters were all very polite and the service was great. The restaurant itself is beautiful, as are the gardens and decor. We actually took a small tour of the building and grounds after dinner. It was lovely. Now for the food. The food was probably the leaps point of the night. Everything sounded delicious, but nothing really hit a home run for us. We got the beef bourguignon appetizer and the escargot. Both were good, but nothing amazing. The bread was okay, we got a side of gluten free bread that was actually excellent compared to the normal bread. We also got the lobster bisque, and it was also just okay. Beautifully plated, but actual flavor was underwhelming. Very little actual lobster and a bit too salty. We didn't finish it, if that tells you anything. We got the filet mignon as the entree and it too was underwhelming, especially for a 6 oz filet that cost $80. We asked for medium, and it came out much closer to rare. Flavor was okay, the sides that came with it were also okay. We didn't finish this plate either. We finished with two desserts. The baked Alaska, that had some sort of sorbet, a watermelon puree and some sponge cake. It was weird. A lot of textures and temperatures. Overall we didn't like it very much and didn't finish it. We also got the brûlée cheesecake, which was actually excellent compared to the rest of the meal. The cherries were delicious as was the cheesecake itself, and the brûlée on top gave a slightly different texture which was delicious. We'll be back, but more than anything for the ambience and overall experience, not necessarily the food.

I attended a Sunday brunch with some friends at La Caille recently. First off, the main entrance…read morewas closed so to get there it was a detour through the backside of the property via a residential neighborhood. Thankfully they had signs. I had done my research ahead of time otherwise it wasn't clear that there is no self parking options-only valet parking. The grounds and property are beautiful and we enjoyed some photos ahead of brunch. Our group was seated in a semi-private room and the service was impeccable. However - the food... was sadly lackluster and overpriced. I had the chateau breakfast for $39 which included eggs to order, ham (my protein choice), breakfast potatoes and a small slice of crème brûlée French toast. The highlight for me was the potatoes. The ham super dry, the eggs undercooked(I ordered over medium and they were like a sunny side up consistency), and the French toast felt like eating sand without much flavor. Thankfully the "complimentary" croissants were delicious and fresh. Aside from the company I was with, the ambiance and service - I do not recommend nor would I return.
