Latte and Whisky Cold Brew
Jenn T.

I agree with most reviewers who said their prices are expensive. Given the interesting offerings, it's a good treat once in awhile. Their drinks are definitely not one noted. The Whiskey Cold Brew doesn't contain actual whiskey, it's brewed in a whiskey barrel. It does have a hint of whiskey but it slowly disappears as the ice melts. I plan to revisit to try their matcha drinks. Again, they have interesting flavor pairings - Yuzu Matcha and Lemon Matcha. The barista that was there on Sunday morning was very kind. He explained how the drinks were made and didn't rush anyone with their order when a short line started to form. They take orders on toastlab. I suggest you go on it to look at the menu because they don't have an obvious one available. The only one is on an ipad that's laid flat by their register.

Very small booth but makes fancy and good coffee. The price isn't exactly cheap given the area it is in it taste pretty good. Service is fast but you have to know how to order using the QR code on the wall because if you wait for a person to help you, it might take a while as they have mobile orders coming in.

This place is such a cute hole in the wall coffee place in 8th Ave. I came here twice ; the first time I got their matcha latte and the second osmanthus latte. Their matcha latte was 5/5; they sifted the powder smoothly which was a plus and I enjoyed it a lot. Osmanthus Latte; 3.5/5; their latte was very good but I didn't like how the osmanthus had the extra toppings inside making it annoying to drink. I wouldn't get this again. Service; 5/5; The first time I went, the young lady was working she was very nice and with great hospitality. The second time was a guy, he was very nice and answered most of the questions I had. Overall; I would come back here for their other drinks. Tip; they don't have a bathroom since it is a hole in a wall. They also accept card!

A nice addition to the area. Simple menu offerings and nice service. Not my favorite preparation of coffee, a little over extracted but did the trick for a midday pick me up.

Seems to be the only specialty coffee shop in the area, so I had to check it out. I ordered a matcha latte with oat milk online. It wasn't ready when I arrived, which I didn't expect it to be, but they were apologetic nevertheless. They use high quality matcha, as evident of the bright green color. My only qualm was that it was just so expensive, considering the amount and the area. I'll be coming again though!

Good coffee, just a bit pricey Square Coffee is one of the only places in the neighborhood that serves specialty coffee so I had to visit for a pick me up! I tried two of their drinks, the Osmanthus Iced Coffee and the Coconut Latte. Both drinks were unique and good, there were dried osmanthus petals in the first drink which did make the drink look pretty but became annoying to have to eat, and you can definitely taste the coconut water in their latte, which I was at first taken aback by but gradually learned to really like. The store itself is a very small stand to the side of a larger store so there is no seating, more of a grab and go situation. The staff working there are super nice and efficient, and I never had a problem with my order. Their menu itself is not super extensive and does not offer a lot of more typical options you might expect from a coffee shop. Additionally, the drinks are more expensive than most places, I paid around $7-$8 for each of the drinks I ordered. I would definitely come back again but likely not make it a regular occurrence due to their price

This is a scam! I come to this store because I see people posting this drink in Little red book. The cup they post is weight much bigger than the one I got. AND IS THE SAME PRICE!!!!!!!!!!!!! This small cup of latte is almost $8 is not acceptable. If the size of the drink change, I think they should tell the customer when they order it and the price should go down too.

A new coffee shop that opened up near the N train 8th Avenue stop! This is one of the few or perhaps even the first coffee shops in the neighborhood dedicating much of their selection to coffee. We tried much of their menu and the stand out drinks have to be their matcha latte, Viennese coffee, and square latte. Taste is great and drinks are not too sweet. Sweetness is adjustable with sugar packets that are provided. This is a very small shop that has no seating. Order up at the front and take your order to go. They are quite busy so keep in mind wait times might vary from 15-25 minutes. Staff are quite nice. A lot of typos on the menu!! This coffee shop is on the pricier side This is a soft opening so hopefully there will be new additions to the menu. Looking forward to seeing how this business grows. When we went to the shop, we wanted to try the Seaweed dancing/cream cheese latte but they were out of stock for this. This also happened the last time we tried to order, when both the Viennese coffee and seaweed dirty were out of stock. So, make sure you have a second option ready!

A small and unique coffee shop on 8th Ave, BK. Green Coconut Latte and Viennese Coffee are my favorite. Cashiers are pretty nice.

The best tasting coffee. The only spot that's worth bracing the cold to walk around the neighborhood. Staff are warm and friendly too.

Their pros is that they open later than the other dessert places in the area. The place is relatively clean, they also have food which isn't the best, I did experience where the cake tasted a bit off, and once I notify the staff they gave me other options of changing to something else. I do like how usually when I come during the evenings, there isn't a wait or on weekends there might be some wait but overall no complaint.

It was pretty empty on a Thursday night and were pretty much the only table until another table showed up later. Menu is via a QR code not an actual menu book that they used to have. Menu is pretty much the usual stuff: pot of teas, desserts, appetizers and some sandwiches. We all ordered a sandwich and got the squid appetizer and two pots of tea. The service was just ok, it was one waiter and sometimes we really had to get his attention. Didn't give us any water in the beginning and we had to ask for some near the end. The environment is the usual Prince tea environment - cafe aesthetic, nice for getting together and catching up with friends. The food was kind of pricey... but Prince tea is usually kinda pricey. But honestly, I was pleasantly surprised by the taste of the food. The food all tasted pretty good. The katsu sandwich was really good, the squid appetizer good, the fries and salad not bad. The sukiyaki burger was just meh so I would recommend to skip. The two teas: lavendar milk tea and passion fruit tea were really good too. Overall: food was better than expected but pricey. Service is lacking and environment is good.

As a coffee lover, I can say this latte definitely did not disappoint! The staff were friendly, and the atmosphere was really inviting. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in town, and since my sister and her partner are locals, I know they'll keep coming here too!

I think I found the best coffee in Bay Ridge!…read more You have to understand my morning. I live in Stony Brook so when the stars are aligned and there is no traffic on the Belt I can order a great cuppa coffee before work. I park across the street and was the first one in the small establishment. I see two gents hustling behind the counter and zero in on the baked goods. I'm not understanding the spiced lattes but after a few times, I'll try the Cardamom latte but for now I'm sticking with a Flat White and a freshly baked croissant. The flat white I ordered? Perfecto. If a good cup of coffee costs the same as a chain coffee slop they serve to the masses, I'll take a well crafted coffee from Clockface Coffee to start my day. Hopefully, if the traffic is light on the Belt Parkway, I can stop by in the morning. I grew up in Canarsie but all the great local places I keep finding by the job, Bay Ridge rocks!

It looks like this is a brand-new place on Grubhub. I'm…read morealways willing to support a local small business, but I also leave honest reviews so other customers know what to expect. I ordered avocado toast with eggs and a pastry. The only real positive was the bread itself, which was fresh, large, and actually tasted good. Unfortunately, that is where the positives ended. Although the avocado seemed less generic than standard store-bought guacamole, the taste was not good. The eggs were terrible -- they looked very unappetizing, tasted awful, and appeared nothing like the photo shown on Grubhub. The same photo also showed a small side salad, but no salad was included. I requested chili oil, and that was missing as well. The added cheese had virtually no flavor, so overall the dish felt careless, incomplete, and extremely unsatisfactory. I also checked the box requesting utensils, but no utensils or napkins were included. However, to be clear, this review is not about forgotten utensils. It is about the overall lack of quality, attention to detail, and customer care. The pastry was another culinary failure. It was sold under the French name -"Pan Au Raisin" but it was nothing like what real "Pain Aux Raisins " supposed to be, it was bland, greasy, oily and missing the traditional custard base plus it was delivered in an undersized paper envelope that left the food exposed, a clear violation of basic sanitary standards for food transport. Most importantly, this order caused me stomach pain and GI upset. This was the only food I had eaten in a 24-hour period, and more than 24 hours later I still felt unwell. The owner's reply to my original review was patronizing, dismissive, and refused to take any real accountability. Instead of addressing the food quality issues, the missing items, the poor packaging, and the physical reaction I had to the order, the response tried to reduce the entire problem to utensils and push the conversation into private email. I am keeping this public so other customers can make an informed decision. I wanted to support a new local business, but the bad taste, poor execution, misleading presentation, lack of care, and dismissive management made that impossible. Based on this experience, I would not order again and would not recommend this place to friends or family.
