I wish I could give negative stars. I don't even know where to begin, everything was wrong and unprofessional. For starters, they advertised strong young men. We were given two older guys, one guy looked to be almost 60, the other guy in his mid 50's. The older of the two moved extremely slow and hardly stepped a foot off the truck. Not to mention I had two guys helping them. It took them 2.5 hours to move a couch set, two TVs, two dressers, and a deep freezer. Mind you they mentioned already being tired from doing jobs in Memphis prior to servicing me. I felt like they were running the clock up on me. Fast forward, there is an accident on the road and the guys pull the truck over at a gas station. The older guy is looking under the hood of someone's car, talking to guys- just having a good ole time. The younger of the two was getting food and drinks. Clock is still ticking. I know we were at the gas station a good 15-20 mins. Zoom forward, the older guy tells us we should keep straight to avoid the accident. After 20 mins into the drive they call and ask do I know where I'm going. Um no sir, you suggested we go this way. Long story not short, it took us 2 hours for a 30 min trip. Ok boom, we have been communicating with someone over the phone who was taking our payment (Vlad). He tried to charge me 600 halfway into the trip. My bank alerted me and would not allow it to go through until I accepted it. This was earlier in the day after we had loaded the truck and was on the way to our destination. Ummm, sir, how is this 600.00? We aren't even finished yet (125/hr). He said he was guesstimating. Sir, please don't guesstimate with my funds. Especially when only one of your guys is working. That older guy could have really stayed at home. Meanwhile, he is slick over looking my frustration and is more concerned with getting my funds. I asked for the name and number to someone higher up so I can discuss what's going on. He failed to provide me with the information and insist someone is going to call me Monday. I doubt that. Meanwhile, we finally get to my new house & they refused to unpack my furniture until a sign a contract. Ummm, sir? You should have taking care of that prior to touching my things. This was the first time I was hearing anything about a contract. At this point I'm boiling with frustration, my service is going in and out and your harassing me about signing a contract on my phone when everything is almost done. Finally, the contract was able to successfully go through. So, we started this journey at 5:23( they were late for my 5:00pm appointment). It's 9:00pm, I leave to go down the street to get pizza. When I come back the movers are gone. So, it took 2.5 hours with 2 additional helpers, but only 30 mins to unload. What a load of crap. Just a scam to run the clock up. Once again I was told that grandpa was slow and didn't do much of the work when it came to unloading. Almost done, so when I come in the house, I noticed one of the dressers was broken. I know they had to have seen there damage. I called the number that the guy was calling me from, harassing me about the contract, and would you guess it- no one answered. I am the most positive and optimistic person you will ever meet. However, I can not in good conscience allow someone to spend this much money and get frustrated, ignored and disappointed. This is completely bad business practice and no one should have to go through this. They completely ruined what was suppose to be a good day. Follow up: A manager was suppose to call me back Monday morning. That never happened, I called and no answer. I called from another number and he answered (Vlad). When I asked to speak to a manager he told me he was the manager, where as on Saturday and Friday he told me someone would be in Monday morning. I also left a VM about my broken dresser and I have yet to get a reply on that. Vlad thought the sourish was funny and gave me the run around. I never was able to speak to anyone that could resolve this my issue. Truth is Vlad is the owner, there isn't a manager. I have moved all over and I have never received such poor service. I have recorded all conversations and the way this guy talks to me is in acceptable in a customer driven industry. Also, I was told there would be a 50 deposit but I was charged 75.00. So that's 675 total. Also they have had their accreditation revoked from the BBB for multiple complaints. Hold this I was told there was a money back guarantee. The owner of Spyder Moving, Vlad, is very misleading!!! I wish that I could give minus stars!!! DO NOT HIRE!!! He quoted us a great price to move our belongings from Pearl, MS to Tampa, FL. 90% of our belongings were already packed and in storage nearby to my mother's house where we were staying temporarily. The storage rooms consisted of household items neatly packed and arranged in a 10x10 and a 5x10 storage climate controlled storage facility. Upon request, I provided Vlad with a thorough and comprehensive list of our items both in storage and a my mothers home. I provided this list multiple times at Vlads request. I asked and was reassured that my furniture and framed artwork at my mothers house would be handled carefully and would be wrapped with cling wrap and with moving blankets. After the 2 movers arrived late, they spent approximately 7 hours loading the items from storage and finally arrived at my mothers home to begin loading just after 6 pm. In order for my husband and I to arrive in Tampa on time for the closing of our new property, we had to leave the movers with my mother to supervise the remainder of loading of our belongings. They were tired and the older of the 2 men stopped to rest and complained many many times. They did not wrap any of my furniture or artwork. The only items that were properly wrapped for transport were the items from storage that my mother and I wrapped when the items were moved into storage initially. These same 2 men, left my mothers home just before 10 pm and attempted to drive straight through to Tampa with short stops to nap along the way. They ultimately did not arrive in Tampa until the following evening after 7 pm. Our HOA would not allow moving after 8 pm on a weeknight resulting in the necessity for the movers to stay overnight in Tampa and keep our belongings overnight in the moving truck. After contacting Vlad to explain that the movers would not be able to work through the night, he agreed in lieu of charging us a "storage fee" for the overnight storage of our belongings in HIS truck, he would allow us to pay for the room that the movers would stay in overnight out of our own pocket. We were able to have them unload our mattress for us to sleep on before they found lodging for the night. When they arrived on Friday morning it was after 9 am. After 10+ hours of unloading our belongings, paying them cash for their previous nights lodging, money for lunch/a meal, many more complaints from the older of the two movers about not being informed by the owner of the moving company that this contracted move included a high volume of items, "so many heavy furniture items", unloading contents into both a second level condo and some items into a local prearranged storage facility, they were finally done just after 7 pm. They were told by Vlad to return immediately without stopping in order to begin another move ASAP. After the whirlwind and chaos of their move of our belongings, we went on to find thousands of dollars in damages. Nearly every piece of furniture, mostly hardwood and many sentimental pieces that had been passed down several generations, had gouges, nicks and scratches from not being properly wrapped with moving blankets and furniture wrap. In their rush to get done on an unrealistic time frame as instructed by the owner, they carelessly caused damages that exceeded the cost of the move. When I contacted Vlad to explain the damages, he did not take my call. And then continued to add insult to injury by adding additional charges and fees to my credit card without authorization, one of which was for the "overnight storage" to keep our belongings in his truck after they arrived late on Thursday and could not unload. Ultimately, we had to hire an attorney to demand a refund for Breech of Contract, to demand a refund on the cash that we gave to the movers to cover their overnight expenses and meals, and to demand that Spyder Moving Company pay for the damages that they caused to our furniture and other belongings. Thankfully, our bank/credit card company reversed the charges while they investigated this incident. Our move was contracted to begin on 01/27/2021 and end on 01/28/2021. It took a day longer and ended with permanent damages to our property. As of today, 03/27/2021, Vlad the owner of Spyder Moving has yet to reply or comply with our attorneys demands. Unfortunately, we will now be forced by his lack of response to sue this company in an effort to be made while again. We absolutely DO NOT recommend this company. The owner, Mr. Vlad, obviously does not care about honoring his contract nor his word and demands his employed movers to provide a service that is unrealistic in timeframe, unsafe without accommodating their need for rest/sleep during a move such as ours, and misrepresents his ability to safely and carefully move a customers belongings without damage or attempt to rectify his failed attempts. read more

They charged me 540 for a 2.5 hour move at 130 and hour to move a 2 bedroom apartment to a local storage less tHan 10 miles away. the owner charged my card before arriving to the apartment. When I asked why he Stated that what I didn't use would be refunded to me. Was scheduled to move from Hattiesburg MS to Nashville recently. The truck was scheduled to arrive, with driver and loader, by 9 AM on Saturday, Nov. 21. At 9:20 they had not arrived, so I called. The owner of Spyder told me they had truck problems and would not arrive at our home till that afternoon. They did not arrive till after 10 AM on the 22nd, over 24 hours late! While there, one of the workers was fired on the spot, for not working well. Also, the truck they sent did not hold all our goods, so I had to pay someone an additional $400.00 to bring the rest. THEN we were told they would arrive in Nashville by 8 AM the next morning, Nov. 23 and they did not get there till about 3:30 PM. Nothing went as promised or as planned. I scheduled my move almost a month in advance which included a $150.00 deposit. One week before my move I tried calling them because nobody from Spyder Moving ever reached out to me about the move. When I finally got someone on the phone and asked him to verify my move all he could tell me was they would be there on schedule. My move was scheduled for 8:00am, and the movers didn't show up until after 4:00pm. To top it off they brought a small truck which required 2 trips for the move and my credit card had been charged for the move prior to any work being done. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!! SPREAD THE WORD. This has been the worst, most infuraiting experience I have ever had with a business. Even calling them a business is a complete joke. I called to ask if they could do a 2 hour job for a client. We didn't need 5 hours or more. He said they could do that. No problem. He asked what time the move would be the next day. I stated 11 a.m. At 12:30 I called to ask what was going on. I asked, "Are they just running late?" He said they were and acted like they would be there soon. We went back and forth, and he told me he needed payment. He sent an invoice for $875. I immediately texted him and said we had discussed this would be a short job, about 2 hours, and they had agreed to that. Mind you, we are a nonprofit helping move someone out of a dangerous situation. At 3:30 pm I called and asked where they were and if they were actually coming. He stated they called me several times and didnt get anyone. I told him we had been at the apartment waiting all day. They had the address. Why didn't they come knock on the door. Then he asked me why I told them not to come. I told him again that we had been here ALL DAY waiting. I found a number on my phone that showed up 'Tom Cruise' and it was one of the guy's phones. They said they were coming back. I asked why they didn't come to the door. I gave them the address and apt. number. He said they weren't given the apt. number. I was livid by this time. I asked 2 or 3 other times for an adjusted invoice from the guy that set up this appointment. He said he sent it to our executive director. They charged the 875 AND the 350 for the actual 2 hour job. Our financial person tried reaching them and they were incredibly rude and combative. They're con artists and trying to steal once they get your information. DO NOT USE THIS PLACE!!!!! Stay far away from Spyder moving company. I requested 4 movers for 180/hr. The movers showed up 2 hrs late with a Penske rental truck and with 2 movers instead of 4. The owner is a Russian guy that is lives in Russia according to the movers. The owner charged my credit card twice without my permission for 1207.00 and then couple hours later he charged it for 2401.00. The movers were only working for about 8 hours at the most. If we could do negative stars we would. We hired this company to help do a move from a business across the country. They were supposed to meet us and unload trucks for two days. We paid them a hefty deposit. They showed up 4 hours late. One guy slept in the truck, the others sat on their phones (toothless tweekers). If it wasn't for my movers that I sent with the trucks nothing would have been done. I have been in the moving business for over 20 years and I have never dealt with anything like this. Our move with Spyder was a cascade of disappointments. You may have googled Spyder and been impressed with their high reviews on Google. I'd suggest looking at Yelp for a more accurate assessment. We contracted Spyder to move our 1300 sqft 3 bed, 2 bath home. Consultations via phone were dismal. They are only interested in when and where they'll pick up and drop off your move. The actual move was disappointing too. It took the movers 8 hours to load 90% of our home as their truck reached capacity. They left a rooms worth of items at the end of the day. As it became obvious that our items would not fit in the truck, the mover voiced that opinion aloud several times, to my frustration. When confronted, they said they'd figure it out, which of course they never did. I may add that they did not bring enough material to safely cover our furniture and so we had to use our own blankets. The move was fraught with "woops", "uh ohs", and other lovely comments you just love to hear when someone is moving your belongings. Movers left water bottles at both homes, so these guys are messy. Somehow the movers were unreachable by their own company, they required our wifi when loading our home and had to bother a future neighbor to use their phone to contact us when preparing to unload. HORRIBLE! Filed a complaint with Attorney General, Laurel Police Department and sued them for GRAND THEFT. Movers came 4 hours late in their truck which had a lock on from prior move to which they had no key! Took tools and moving blankets from my son-in-law to remove lock and wrap Armoire and did not return. After they had measured my Armoire and the stairs where it would be coming up, at 8:30 PM., was scheduled to arrive at 3:00 PM., they determined it would not fit! They then re-loaded my Armoire and explained "we will take it to our facility, and contact you in the morning", March 7th, 2022. Well, where do I start? 1. Started late 2. 2 guys show up, but one quits after 30 minutes. My son has to help for 1.5 hours until another worker shows up. Yet again after 20 minutes, YES, he too quits. Again my son has to help. This time for 5.5 hours until they can get another worker to help. Then they send a slug, so yep you guessed it, my son had to continue helping. 3. A load out which took 12 hours, was promised to take 4 hours. Was somehow blamed on us for not giving a true representation of the volume our storage unit contained. My daughter clearly told the idiot owner we had a 10ft x 10ft unit completely full, so he chose to not go and see it. 4. Upon finishing his marathon loading disaster, he proceeds to illegally withdraw the full amount from our bank account, directly after he tells my son (me on FaceTime as a witness) that we would be compensated for his 8+ hours of labor and our troubles. Did I happen to mention that no documentation was ever signed that this charge could be made against our account? 5. So I will continue, the next morning my daughter contacts mister No Answer, that is what I will call this pathetic owner. She explained that what took place was very much illegal so he begins to lie as much as possible, blah blah blah. She also explained that we had already paid $150 deposit, so at a minimum he has to return that amount. But I will come back to this later. 6. Now for the drive 10 hour drive and unload. 7. Upon arrival at destination unload, slug is part of the deal again. By this time we have come to realize that my son now somehow is an employee for this absolute disaster of a moving company. 8. The unload, which should have taken about 3 hours max, Because we didn't ask for anything to be unboxed or assembled, proceeds to take 6+ hours because? Come on, you can guess. Yep, slug quit working and my son had to step in again to try and get the job done. 9. During this whole shit show, Mister No Answer finally answers and agree that he will return the $150 Deposit plus $300 for my sons work hours, which is now at 12 hours. Being the very patient and helpful people we obviously are decided that the $300 should be given to the only constant worker in the whole ordeal. This man worked his ass off and tried like hell not to complain about the lack of help Mister No Answer had sent for him over the two days. 10. But sorry, it didn't work out so well in the end, Mr. No Answer decided that he would not give the $300 to the employee after all and lies that he never agreed for this return. Told you he was pathetic. 11. Now for the $150 deposit return, only after informing Mr No Answer that my lawyer would be contacting him, 3 weeks later, did he finally return the deposit. 12. And yes you guessed it, did not give the $300 to the employee. Don't use this company unless you want this disaster to also happen to you. I notice their page doesn't really have a section for reviews... and that is no wonder. Let me give you the bottom line up front... avoid this company at all costs! They are quickly finding themselves in some legal trouble and as I understand it, the Better Business Bureau (BBB) has already revoked their certification and is hot on their trail for legal action. I will share with you my experience, which mirrors many if you continue to read comments on this page. We called Spyder back in March to have them move us out of our house and into a storage unit. The entire experience was entirely pleasant and the 2 man crew they sent completely busted their butts and took care of our stuff. We were completely impressed, and I am pretty sure I wrote them a good review back then. Fast forward to this past weekend... We called them last week and set up a move from our storage unit into our home. They agreed to be at our unit at 2pm on Saturday. The first red flag that went up was when he sent the contract over (after paying $50 deposit), it had a 5-hour minimum. He told my wife it was a 3-hour minimum over the phone, and when we moved in March it was a 3-hour minimum. So she called him back and questioned it. He came up with some weird excuses but said it would be 3-hour minimum. She said he needed to reword the contract and send it over. He wouldn't do that and only sent an email with just basic words saying 3-hour minimum (no contract sent). So this was his first attempt to defraud us. Secondly, he called us Saturday morning (day of the move) and said they would be late. They take jobs as they come and they had picked up two more moves before ours and would get to us later. Well, for one thing we had an agreement on 2pm. Not 6:30 or 7pm which he was now saying it would be. Then for a 2 man crew to pull 2 more moves before ours... that is just going to kill your employees... why would you do that to them??? So we raised cane about that, and later come to find out that the crew was on their way to Baton Rouge (we are in Hattiesburg doing a short distance move). We called and called and called and he started dodging our calls. I finally get him to call me back, which was around 3pm. He played dumb and acted like he didn't know who I was. I told him we were supposed to have a crew at our unit at 2pm and they were an hour late. He asked who I was and what was my name. After I told him my name, he told me he had already spoken to my wife (or, the "other person" as he said) and they would be there around 6:30 or 7pm. I told him that was not going to work, we agreed on 2pm. All he said was "Okay" and then... CLICK! He hung up on me. I called back, thinking we just got disconnected, gave him benefit of the doubt, and again he acted like he didn't know who I was. I went through the whole spill again, and he hung up again. After that, I called back and he didn't answer, he dodged and declined the call sending it to voice mail. I chewed him out pretty good over voice mail since he was too cowardly to answer. Little did I know, he had already spoken to my wife... and was extremely disrespectful to her. He acted the same cowardly fool to her as he did to me. So after speaking to her and discovering all this... I tried to call him again... because you are NOT going to disrespect my wife... much less a woman and a customer of yours... and get away with it. This is no more than 30 minutes later. He answered... and again played dumb and acted like he had no idea who I was and why I was calling. I went off on him for disrespecting my wife and he played dumb the entire time. I told him he would be refunding every penny of our deposit and the charge for the minimum... which they charged right at 2pm for the 3-hour minimum. He said no refunds and hung up. I called again and told him no you WILL be refunding every penny and he got ugly. I continued to go off on him until he refused to listen... Come to find out, this is a common problem with them, even going as far as holding people's belongings hostage until they pay him more money. Seems like they are already in a lot of legal trouble in addition to what is going on with the BBB, but you can read all of that for yourself from reviews from other people... but we will never do business with this company again, and we will report them everyone we can possibly do so and ensure they never get their backing from the BBB again. You just don't disrespect your customers like that... go back on your word and breach your OWN contract... and fraud people out of money like that. Worst of all... you are not going to disrespect my wife like that. Do not EVER do business with Spyder... unless they sell out and get new owners... because these are the OWNERS doing this... not just employees who answer the phone... these are the owners! The deposit plus the hourly rate may have been okay if they didn't try to scam me in the "contract" for minimum 3 hours of pay when I scheduled 1 hour of moving. You were aware that we would be moving household furniture and appliances. For over two hours your employees told you on the phone that they could not possibly lift a refrigerator, washer, dryer and sideboard without equipment. You told them no, repeatedly...we were witness to the employees begging you on the phone. Finally I asked to speak with you to tell you how ridiculous it was ... that they couldn't possibly lift said items...at this point you completely fib and say that you never told them that. At this point evidently you tell them they can go buy a small hand truck at a nearby retailer...over an hour later they return....but since you only allowed then enough funds to purchase a small dolly, they still could not move the refrigerator. Over 4 hours wasted at this point....obviously you realized the jig was up and quickly sent an e-invoice immediately followed by a 1500 charge. AT NO POINT ,did we ever instruct your employees to not do or say anything to the company. Your own employees, who were just as frustrated and angry as we were and spoke of your dishonesty and similar pattern of behavior...they were embarrassed and apologetic stating that if you had allowed them the proper equipment, it would have taken them 2 hours...they also stated that you had charged us for over 7 hours. So dear Yelpers.... if you need to move don't call this company as the only thing that will be moved is your money out of your bank account.
