I had good service from Dr. Spurling himself. When it was time to pay, it was about $225 for the exam and 2 boxes of contacts. When I asked why it was so expensive they told me that an eye exam of about 109 is the going rate. I then told them I wished I would have known that it was going to be that expensive and to break down the price.
They (instead of breaking down the price of service to answer why it was so expensive), proceeded to be very hostile. They also told me that it was a more intensive exam then others. I have had exams before and it was the same as all the ones I've received in the past and never paid more than $75 for contacts exam. After they became increasingly hostile, I told them I would never be back and that I would tell others of my experience. "Christy", took my credit card from my hand and said that, that was perfectly fine with her (hence why I'm here doing just that). I would have emailed him, but there is no email address to be found anywhere, sadly. I would not recommend going to this place if you want to have excellent customer/patient service from the staff. Excellent services by the Doc was the only reason why it earned them a second star.
Certain purchases are transactional. A used car salesman might only expect to ever see a customer once and their relationship is over. My wife and I were ready to make his office the one we go to all the time, and as a very loyal customer/patient at places that provide great service, I would have done reviews in a much more positive light. Excellent customer service, Dr. Spurling, is how you build loyal customers and that is NOT what I received.
You can train your staff better by:
Teaching them the reasons why you charge as much as you do for your services so they can explain it to the patients in a manner that doesn't seem like their making it up on the spot.
Teaching them how to "deal" with "flustered" patients when they see the price you charge for any number of your services. I.E. to not mirror the customers attitude but to react in a way that the customer would mirror them and calm down. read more
