We needed a handyman/electrician to clean up the wiring mess in our garage. RJ contacted me immediately and showed up at the house. We negotiated a price, made deposit and he sent out his tech in 3 days, it was completed. Thank you RJ! read more

DO NOT hire this guy...... he is a crook. His word is not good and he doesn't even pay his electricians for work they have done.

I contracted with Spunkys (RJ) to install outdoor decorative shutters and exterior garage lights. Shutters - no problem, except the installer was afraid of heights and barely able to climb a ladder... but he did a decent job. The garage lights... where do I start. Stucco was damaged and patched when the were mounted. Wiring- another story all together. Romex conduit was used... ugly job; winding all over the wall inside of my garage. Holes poked in the wall above the outlet and switch boxes (broken and improperly installed) to snake the Romex through. The job looked so bad that I thought I would take a closer look. Illegal wire nut connections found behind the two gang jbox (wrong size). Unshielded wires run in the wall through a partially cut stud to an on - off switch.... Two gang jbox doesn't even fit the opening, sticks out on the bottom a half an inch.... All the mistakes are slathered with gobs of caulking.... And I paid over $900 for this crap, only to now call out a licensed electrician to do the job right! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY... construction liabilities, employee safety / injury liabilities, potential electrical, fire, and structural hazards.... RJ's a nice guy, but he has no idea what he's doing - sorry. read more

Once we agreed on the price RJ came out and did 3 ceiling fan installations for us. He also did a couple of other electrical items. He came on time and he sent us reminders of the appointment. We appreciated his work along with his courtesy and good manners. A few days later we needed help with a sprinkler timer and he fit us into his schedule and did what was needed. While here we requested another project and will definitely let Spunky take care of it for us in the future. My husband and I don't always agree but we both did on Spunkys services. read more

We hired Spunky's to repair our roof in the family room and kitchen which is partially glass that started separating from the tile. He is the 5th handyman we've hired and the only one that fixed the problem. We were so impressed we asked him to install film on our windows, and replace lanterns in our yard. He did a great job and is now our new handyman. We hesitated to write this review until it rained, and for the first time in 12 years our roof did not leak. Needless to say we are extremely impressed. Dr. Larnel and Victoria Jackson read more

Worst decisions ever. Had some tiles that were loose that needed to be fixed. We met up and gave me an estimate and told me what he was going to do. Said that I didnt need to buy any new tiles, he can just remove them and put some adhesive and put them back. When the time came to do the work he sent someone who could barely speak english and had no idea what he was supposed to do. Tried my best to communicate with him. Seemed like he understood. He began working and it started off ok; I let him do his job while I was working from home. A few minutes later I hear some loud banging so I came back to find that the worker was destroying a all the tiles, not even trying to save them. He damaged tiles that didnt not need to be fixed in the first place. I stop him and and asked wtf was he doing. Of course everything was lost in translation. Called the owner and he came by to check it out. Wasnt apologetic or anything. All he said was he will "try" and look for those tiles and just left. Left my house a complete mess. Didnt even clean up the mess his guy made. Days later and no word from the guy. I call him to find out that he cant find the tiles. Decided to find the tiles myself which I did. You would think a professional has contacts to be able to find this stuff easier than I can. Finally scheduled a time for him to complete his work. Cancelled on me a few times took a total of 5 visits to finish the half ass job. Tiles were uneven. Some were hollow indicating that it wasnt installed correctly. Do yourself a favor and look else where for a handly man. read more

Made an appt with him and no one showed up. He called two days afterward and said " I can be there in about 2 hours" I told him sorry our appt was two days ago and I gave the job to someone else who actually showed up for their appt. Clearly this man had checked out and went on some kinda intoxication vacay and sobered up 2 days later when he decided to call to see if he can still take the job. Nope sorry, get your act together! read more

Left the house unfinished and never came back. Installed the sink in reverse, cut down our new door too much and installed it improperly. He also left white paint on our front porch. I don't know how he has managed to get any positive reviews, but this is the worst service I have ever received. I wouldn't even consider him a handyman. Now we have to find an actual handyman and pay even more to fix the disaster he caused. Please do not waste your time with this scammer. I would give him 0 starts if I could. read more

It's hard to find someone who does good work with reasonable prices, who keeps their word, does what they say they're going to do, shows up on time and calls if they are going to be late to let you know when they will be there. This is why I won't call any other handyman service but Spunkys. read more

Canceled my appointment with them after waiting to hear if they were still coming. 10:30 appointment and heard nothing from them till after 12:30. A call would of been nice to say they are running late, takes less than a minute to do! Sorry but not hearing from them is rude! read more

Nice guy but the work was not great and they leave everything a mess. Our new tub is all scratched up and has paint all over it from them. The drain to the tub well we can't use it and it wasn't installed correctly either. When it came time to settle the bill he sent copies of receipts of thing that were not for our job like his cashews. The tub stopper he charged us for he got to take back since we didn't have him finish the work. The drywall work is not good and the wall looked better open. I will now have to spend more money to have it all torn down and start over. read more

Where do I begin? RJ has very kind and punctual on the first visit. The second visit, I texted him 10 mins prior to our appointment time at 4pm to confirm and he informed me he was running 2 HOURS late! The next day (third try) he (RJ) said he will not be completing his work and will be sending a colleague. The colleague never showed, even after I reached out 3x with no phone call back. I was then informed we had to reschedule for a 4th time! (This is to smooth out the attached photo and to paint) His colleague (didn't introduce himself) came to fix RJ's horrible spackle job and to paint on the now 5th visit, however, RJ never told him what was needed so this new person didn't bring ANYTHING to do the job! Today was now the 6th visit to complete RJ's job. I have attached the "completed" job. There's still a hole in the wall. Surface isn't smooth. He didn't paint even though my landlord told him to and the faceplate was screwed on so tight by RJ that it cracked! Very juvenile move! The new colleague asked US to use our tools to do a different, non related job to the bathroom (fix our garage door, per my landlord) EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL!!! read more

RJ the owner of Spunky's Handyman is a terrific all around guy with a positive attitude always. My wife & I were in a spot with rain damage and he immediately came to my home (after all was dried out) and did all the work we asked him to do....insulation, drywall, paint, texture, flooring and electrical..... you name it RJ @ Spunky's can do it. It was all done to our satisfaction for the right price and "on-time". Heck....I even asked him to come do work at the company I'm a Director of Operations for in Claremont. He's now just beginning a 4th job for my mother-in-law who just moved in to our residence last month to customize her living space. RJ is not only an excellent handyman, We even will call him a friend that we have to pay every once in awhile. read more

RJ responded almost immediately to my request. I needed a couple exterior steps replaced: some exterior window trim replaced: two bathroom mirrors framed and boxes built to hide an old built in make up mirror. RJ gave me a reasonable quote: arrived at the agreed time and got right to work. He finished all my projects in one day and did a great job. Thank you RJ!! read more

RJ was an absolute pleasure to have work on my home project. His response time is amazing and I had my project finished within a few hours after requesting a quote. Very professional and courteous with a reasonable price. I had a dryer vent moved from my garage door to the side of my house, by cutting a new hole in the stucco, and he did a great job. Will definitely use again for other projects and 100% recommend to anyone else looking for a readily available handyman. Thank you RJ! read more

RJ answered before I could even consider anyone else...and am I glad. He came and took one look at the mess I had made on a diy project and went right to work making everything fit like magic. He says he's a handy man but I think he's a "Jack of All Trades" I'll never need to look again for a "Honey Do Man" that is not my man #Spunky's Handyman. read more

For a few years now I have been trying to find a good handyman. I called Spunky's Handyman because of a recommendation and I'm so happy to have found RJ. He has helped me twice now--once for an electrical problem and once to get creative with a plumbing problem. He knows what he is doing and takes pride in his work. read more

RJ was the first handyman that I called that actually answered his phone which was already a plus. We recently hired someone and were left extremely disappointed with unfinished work. RJ was on time, professional, quick and cleaned up. He went right to work and we were happy with his work and will be calling him back. He completed the work on threshold, painting and filling in gaps. read more
