I needed a tooth pulled badly and was terrified of the IV sedation, as I'm so not good with needles. I was so desperate in pain for weeks trying to find a place that could do the extraction quickly and would take my insurance. Exo Dental got me in next day!!! The staff could probably tell how anxious I was, from the front staff to the nurses to Dr. McDonald, I was only met with exceptional care. I told them how nervous I was about the IV and Dr. McDonald assured me they could even do the extraction with just laughing gas. I was so relieved, and the extraction took literally 2 seconds and I didn't feel a thing. I was stunned, I've never been met with such great and personalized care from a dentist office before. The entire extraction appointment maybe took 1 hour, but the actual dental work took less than 1 minute. I couldn't believe an appointment I was terrified of coming to, I found myself extremely calm and even laughing with the nurses during the appointment. I offered to call in tomorrow to set up a new payment plan with the office and was denied by their office manager. As I left the office with my daughter, the office manager emerged from the back room as we were leaving to announce to the entire waiting room that my card on file kept getting denied. I told her I had switched banks and that I had not authorized them to continue to run my card. She told me I was wrong. I told her I could call back after I get paid again and SHE FOLLOWS ME AND MY FAMILY INTO THE PARKING LOT (as other people were arriving for their appointments) and yells across the parking lot "You'll be hearing from our lawyers!" As a local business owner, the experience was unprofessional to say the least. At most, it was an attempt to shame my family and I in front of other people. I pray that Dr. Ward speaks with his office manager and perhaps is able to offer any professional development resources to this woman. I am confused by her behavior and contempt for me not being able to pay the amount she demanded. Her behavior was atrocious and hateful and uncalled for. I pray she seeks help and this will be addressed by the office as the way to not treat patients in a hard economy.
