I see so many towns that just let the old buildings deteriorate but Marshall has the feel of a thriving old time like the 50s and 60s when there were stores open in all the buildings. When I entered Samar's, the first thing that I noticed was the smell. The scent of root beer was strong. It might be from all the candy they had with plenty of choices. However, I was not looking for candy today, but a good ole fashion milkshake! Samar's proudly serves Hershey's ice cream and they had approximately 20 flavors. I went with one of my personal favorites, the Midnight Caramel which has dark chocolate, caramel, and vanilla mixed together. I also grabbed a bottle of water and with my milkshake, I spent under $5. It's very hard to beat that price for a milkshake and something extra. The owners, who I assumed, were the ones who made my milkshake for me, seems to be a husband and wife that were both very kind and personable. I hope their business thrives for years to come.
