Let me first say the work they did was very good. Needed sprinkler system repaired and upgraded. The guys were running late getting to our appointment and the owner called to update the ETA. The guys were knowledgeable and friendly. Also includes a 90 day warranty. The only issue I have is the cost. There were two guys who spent 3 hours. That was billed to me at $155 per hour. Add on the $85 service call and 3 hours of work cost $550. Probably more than double what it should have been Again, the work was good, but I suggest you find out what the hourly service charge will be before hiring them. read more

Can't think more highly of Mike Laschalt and his company. We inherited an aging drip system in the flower garden of the house that we bought two years ago in Citrus Heights. We've put off work on it because of what we thought would be more than we wanted to face. S-Works first checked the operation of the Hunter Pro-C controller, then used some lines that we had, blocked useless ones, put in new ones with 360 degree sprayers and drips, and patched a leaking line. He did a nice job of replacing the feeder line and boosting the individual drips out to the plants we have. Definitely got off to a rough start. Left a message saying I was in no rush and describing my issues...week and a half later, no call back. Called again, said he never got my message, but scheduled them to come the next day between 1pm and 3pm, so I worked from home to facilitate. No call, no show. Left a message at 4pm. Called me the next morning before I could call them again, and explained he transcribed my number wrong, and was by my place within the hour. Got a new sprinkler head dug and installed, they fixed a solenoid/valve, and set up my automatic watering schedule for me. Done in under an hour. Ultimately I would recommend. You just might need to be a little more proactive than I was. read more

I had a leaky backflow valve assembly for my drip system, so I called around for repairs; while others were booked up for weeks or didn't respond, Mike answered the phone and said he could get the hard-to-find valve and be out next week. He was so busy (a good sign!) he sent Oscar out to do the work. Oscar did a great job and rebuilt the assembly good as new, leak-free. The price was very fair, even 1/2 of what another quoted. I had a minor issue afterwards to ask Mike about, and he came out the next day and repaired a leaky drip-line nearby, no charge since it related to the overall job. Most people want to do the work and leave but me being a new homeowner, I have a lot of questions and wanted to know how everything worked so I could troubleshoot or fix it myself in the future. He took the time to explain what was wrong and how to fix items without needing to call him back. He also charged me more than a reasonable price. I got a recommendation from NextDoor for Sprinkler Works. Mike left my home several times without finishing the work, then charged me almost $80 just for the visit when he returned to finish what he started. Each and every time he came to do work, I'd end up with more problems, including him breaking things, then charging me for what he broke! He would do things without telling me, then after he was done, he'd tell me what he did, and charge me a lot for things I never agreed to. One time he removed a sprinkler without my knowledge, and now I have a big brown spot on my lawn, and my flowers all died as a result. Unfortunately, his modifications were NOT anything close to what I wanted, and now I have a big mess in both my front and back yard. I do NOT recommend this company at all. read more

This review is quite late. I had work done in my front yard ibn October of 2018 and just now am getting around to writing a review! Sorry, Mike! Please don't let that in any way make you think I was displeased with the service! After requesting a quote on Yelp in October, I received a call back from Mike Laschalt very quickly, I believe the next day. We scheduled an appt. within a few days. On the day of service, Eben and a co-worker (Sorry, can't remember your name), arrived on time and ready to work. I had received other quotes but the couple of other companies that had come out all tried to get me to totally redo the entire front sprinkler system. I had already put several thousand dollars into the back yard in the summer and I wasn't anxious to spend another couple of thousand on the front yard! I had explained to Mike that I just wanted to get the sprinkler heads replaced and adjusted for now. He never tried to upsell me. When Eben spoke to me on the day of the repairs, he had already been briefed. He took a good look at the front lawn and located all of the head locations which was not very easy. Some of them were completely buried. He changed out all of the broken heads and tested the system. It turned out that we actually had a couple of broken pipes which he quickly located and repaired. After that, the system was working perfectly. I have nothing but good things to say about this friendly, local business. Great service, very affordable rates! Based on a high recommendation from my neighbor, I called Mike and we set up an appointment for next week. He called today saying he had some free time. I said come over and he was here within half an hour. Mike and his associate were friendly, liked my doggy, and were very knowledgeable. He quickly diagnosed (operator error) the sprinkler control problems and fixed and reprogrammed it. Then he examined each sprinkler in my five zones; most were OK, but some needed replacement and others just needed adjustment.
