They do not care about the people in this facility and they do unethical things. It's beyond sad to watch elderly people get treated poorly and not receive the proper care they deserve by the staff here.

On the night of January 2nd my mother got outside and fell. I received a call saying my Mom was being transported because she fell and was unresponsive. When I arrived at St. Anns ER they had no information about the circumstances of the fall. I called FV and asked for more details and that's when I was told my Mom had been found outside in 30 degree weather and they thought she had been out there for 15 minutes. They said both aids were working with one patient and couldn't go after her right away. My Mom was hypothermic, had a fractured orbital bone, fractured wrist, broken rib, a concussion and a large skin tear on her arm. Due to the facial injuries Mom was transferred to Mt Carmel East where she was admitted. Mom was released January 5th back to FV skilled unit. During this time I had expressed my anger about this fall and I wanted to know if it had been investigated. I was told the internal investigation determined the door alarm needed to be louder because it was hard to hear in certain areas of the unit. Sadly, my Mom never recovered from the fall and passed away January 12th. I had mentioned several times more staff was needed in the memory care unit and the skilled facility and I was ignored. This probably isn't the place to put your loved one if they need assistance. Profit far outweighs what is best for residents.

A Five-Star Haven for Mom (and Peace of Mind for Me!)…read more After interviewing 9 assisted living facilities across Columbus this past March, I did what any thorough first born son would do: I created a spreadsheet, took notes, captured all the move in and monthly costs, and probably annoyed more than a few executive directors with my questions. But the moment I stepped into The Inn at Bear Trail, I knew I'd found "the one." And I'm not just saying that because it smelled like fresh flowers and good decisions--though it absolutely did - even the Memory Care unit! (trust me that's a key clue that they are on top of things). What sealed the deal? The staff. These folks are the real deal - Starting with Mike Harvey who runs a tight ship over there and is super attentive via text or voice at all times. His aids and nurses are professional, warm, and genuinely there when you need them. They move through the halls like a well-choreographed dance team, always available, always positive, and always one step ahead of what my mom needs next. They're proactive about her care, catching details I'd miss and implementing solutions before problems even arise. It also did not hurt that they were the most affordable option out of all the other AL places I toured in the Columbus area. My mom is thriving, and honestly, so am I. Knowing she's in such capable, compassionate hands? Priceless. If you're searching for the best care for your Mom or Dad and you want them in the Columbus area stop searching. You've found it. Highly Recommended. No spreadsheet required.

If a meal is missed, there are no adequate alternatives provided--sometimes only broth and crackers are offered. Services that are supposed to be included in the monthly fee, such as weekly cleaning and laundry, were not consistently completed without repeated reminders. It often required ongoing follow-up with staff to ensure these basic services were performed. There have also been concerning issues with care. On one occasion, a nurse attempted to administer an excessive amount of medication to my parent, which raised serious safety concerns. Additionally, the facility manager has not been particularly approachable or helpful when addressing issues. Billing has also been problematic. The most recent statement included additional charges we felt were not owed, requiring us to escalate the matter to corporate. To their credit, the corporate office was responsive, professional, and understanding of the concerns raised--many of which extend beyond what is outlined here. If issues arise, I would recommend contacting the corporate office directly at 740-345-3700 under Jerry McClain Companies

The Village is a month-to-month elder-abuse facility. No one is respected, cared for or even moderately worried about by management. In fact. staff have been specifically directed not to help residents. Yup. if you fall, they may call 911. Ditto with a heart attack or choking. but they will not do a damn thing to actually help you. And that's assuming they even find you. Food is disgusting for the most part, tons of carbs and sugar. Breakfast used to be good, Bobby Folden the new ED had made that another nasty event. imagine being a diabetic or requiring pills before eating, the the food is inedible; yeah, that will throw off your health care goals. Prices are skyrocketing, they claim added expenses. Yeah, when a major corp buys the place and puts 5 layers of 6-figure income management plus shareholders in place, yeah, the costs go up. And not only rent increases, but the following: - removed home caregivers - no housekeeping (trash, toilets, vacuum, etc) for 4 weeks. - no PM security or available IL staff. - residents aren't allowed out after 8pm, and aren't given the security code to the doors. IOW, ProMedica is treating this like a senior care prison. - staff used to be lovely, 8 months of ProMedica and JUST ONE MONTH OF BOBBY FOLDEN and this place is going down like a fat kid on a seesaw. 8 residents have left since Bobby Folden started, 6 more are leaving, and 3 are crying as they don't have the means to get out. 30 mentally & physically diminished invalid are left in IL. And Assisted Living continually fails nursing review boards. Trust me, this is ONLY A CHEAP PLACE, IT IS NOT A GOOD PLACE. The only redeeming quality is its location in South Westerville, but if you're not mobile and active, you may as well be living in Siberia. No amenities. Activities totally geared for the parapalegic and mentally impaired residents. If you've got half a brain, that's half more than most. Nickle-diming residents for every little thing. Imagine paying $5k a month for AL and told tissue and toilet paper were extra Charge. Charges for previously free transportation. In closing, let me quote from Forest Gump. RUN FOREST RUN!
