We came here for late night food and live entertainment. There's a cover charge of $10 per person…read morefor the live band performance. That is a bit pricey compared to other places in Scarborough. The space is too small, and it was very cramped seating. I was not able to face the stage where i was sitting. The lounge is on the upper floor and not handicap accessible. The pork sisig was disappointing. We usually order a party tray and it was really good. The sizzling plate in the restaurant had lots of fat and no meat. We even ordered 2 sisig and same thing all fat. The pork bbq was really good with a nice thick layer of sweet savory bbq sauce. There were some unedible pieces of fat, but overall, it was a good appetizer. The hot wings were crispy and juicy and nice, sweet chili dipping sauce to compliment them. The wings were not spicy at all. The menu is QR code scan using your mobile device. The server was taking orders using a tablet point of sale device. They are licensed to serve alcohol and you can order buckets of beer, wine, and cocktails. The live entertainment was pretty interactive, and they invited some people from my group to sing along karaoke style with the band. If live music and karaoke are your favorite way to enjoy a night out, then this place might be for you. For me, the tight seating arrangements and some subpar food offerings left something to be desired. The beer buckets are quite pricey and if you are looking for Red Horse, they do serve the tall boy cans here. Expect to pay a premium for the import beers. We drank Stella Artois. The total bill, including 5 x $10 cover charge came up to $280. It was very expensive considering the food we ate and 2 buckets of beer. If you are looking for a local Filipino karaoke bar, then this place might be a good place

Ended up staying for lunch instead because why not celebrate Canada's Filipino Heritage Month with some Filipino eats and since we have none by us. We decided to try the Filipino BBQ and lumpia with some rice. Let's just say the food was so good we didn't get a chance to even take a photo lol. The BBQ was flavorful and enjoyably better than other Filipino BBQs we've tried back in NY. We would definitely want to come back here again next time we're in town. Everyone was friendly in there and greeted us open arriving and leaving. They also have other treats there like halo halo, Filipino ice cream, pandesal, ensaymada, kutschinta, and more. Definitely worth checking out if you're ever in the area.

The Thirsty Monk has resided downtown Oshawa for years at one location or another. Since noticing that it's a gastropub, I had to go. What is a gastropub? It's a pub that serves gourmet food rather than traditional pub fare. The Thirsty Monk has a great menu worthy of being called a gastropub. I was glad I had scanned the menu ahead of time or it would've taken forever to choose! I decided I couldn't go to this place without trying the Strongbow Cider Fondue. It was freaking delicious. Cheesy and creamy and yum. Good luck on guessing what else is in it. We asked our server, but she didn't really give much away. We tried but, still couldn't figure it out! The Tuscan Goat Cheese Chicken won my heart. Sweet potato fries FTW. My friend couldn't decide between Chicken Parm(something she orders almost EVERYWHERE we go, AAAH!!!) and the Penne Arabiatta with sausage. She made me pick. Needless to say, she was getting the penne! The food arrived and when I went to snap a pic, the penne did not have sausage, it had chicken. We were starving, even though we polished off the cider fondue, so she didn't say anything. She loved it. My chicken was good. I think I liked the goat cheese filling better than the chicken. I could've been more moist, but it tasted delicious. The sweet potato fries were crispy and addicting. The vegetables were flavourful with a little crunch. All in all a great meal! I definitely want to come back; the menu is calling me. The food was high quality and the beer was cold. Head downtown to the Thirsty Monk. You will be pleasantly surprised! Not only is it a restaurant/pub, but they also have live entertainment. Check their website for details!
