Friendly staff. Clean and good quality continental breakfast (waffles, biscuits and gravy, eggs, bagels, cereal, yogurt, oatmeal, etc). Interior is fairly up to date, kept well cleaned. The rooms are updated and kept well clean. Love the pull out bed under the couch and the couch is wide enough to be turned into a single bed after removing the back cushions. My kids played in the pool and it was perfect. It's small but perfect for a few little kids. We enjoyed our stay and I'd stay here again. Little background: I travel OFTEN for work and stay in hotels. At least 70% of the year. I have a habit of keeping my room extremely tidy. I don't have my things spread across my room, etc. I also do not require housekeeping to clean my room more than once a week to change bedding, towels, and to replace trash bags & toilet paper. On the days housekeeping DOES come in my room to clean, I pack up all my belongings (i.e., hygiene bags, charging cables, etc). So once they get in my room, it seems as if I never unpacked. The ONLY things I leave out are my products in the shower. Although this hotel provides shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in the shower- I still like to use my own face wash and conditioner (especially in this dry climate). Fast forward: There was a problem with my sink and it would take 24 hours before the water would be turned back on in my room. The front desk was able to provide me another room. However, it shared a door with a room which had a loud, crying baby. I get up each morning at 4 am for work and wouldn't be able to get adequate sleep if I stayed in that room. The front desk allowed me to sleep in my original room, while only using the secondary room to use the restroom and sink. Awesome- that was a workable temporary solution. I understand that meant I would be taking up two rooms momentarily, but realistically- two rooms would have been unavailable either way since no one would be able to stay in the room without water. I woke in the morning, grabbed my clothes and whatever else was needed, showered and got dressed in the spare room, then proceeded to grab my dirty clothes and my hygiene bags to finish getting ready in my original room, and I hung the "Do Not Disturb" sign on the spare door. I did not take my shower stuff since I was planning to return and shower in that room after work. After work, the sign was missing from the door and my key did not work for either room. After speaking with the front desk again, they decided to book the spare room to someone else, said the water was turned back on in my room but I couldn't use the bathroom sink for 24 hours- instead I was instructed to use the living area sink (secondary sink). However, my shower stuff was not in my original room- and no one had moved it from the spare room. I checked with the front desk, who checked with housekeeping. I was expecting to hear: 1) "Housekeeping bagged your belongings, let me grab them." Or 2) "It was accidentally thrown away." Something with an explanation. NOPE. I was told, "Housekeeping said nothing was there." What? I KNOW without a doubt I left my stuff in the shower. I even double-checked all my bags. Nothing. My stuff didn't just walk away or disappear. I'd rather be told, "it must've accidentally been thrown away." Instead, they doubled-down. Almost insinuating that I was wrong and/or lying. One of the front desk ladies even resorted to explain how hotels work- which I found was a bit condescending. "You see... we don't just ASSIGN someone a room. We actually have housekeeping CLEAN rooms before we assign them." Yup. Thanks for insulting my intelligence. Yes... I fully understand how hotels work. Then she offered to replace my things with amenities. I don't think she was grasping that a single-use hotel toothbrush will not replace my high-end conditioner. But whatever. I was over it after the condescending instruction. *There's an unsettling feeling when you highlight a concern to the staff, and they gaslight you.* When anything (no matter how small) goes missing, it's concerning. Then we ask ourselves - "What else could possibly be missing?" It leaves you questioning. I was more upset that my high-end hair conditioner (brand new bottle) was missing. More so than my razor, loofa, and face wash. (The other items can be picked up anywhere- but the conditioner I have to order online.) *Summary: I (100%) no longer trust the staff with entering my room for any reason. And anyone who stays here should be cautious. When you leave your hotel room, there should be a safe sense of security. Great hotel located in a nice shopping area and restaurants all around! We decided to book online and the process was fairly easy and fast! While we arrived we noticed the hotel was going through some renovation and the main entrance was closed but that was okay since the side door was open. We went to the lobby and provided ID and the form of payment and we were in and out in no time! The hotel we we reserved was extremely clean with 2 queen sized beds and also they have a living room area with a huge couch you could sleep on! There was a nice size flat screen TV with cable and also 2 large closest to store clothes. They had a small refrigerator with no freezer and a sink also. The restroom bathroom area had a nice large tub with cold and hot water and also they provided lotion, shampoo/conditioner and body soap that were name branded as Paul Mitchell fancy right? Overall had one of my best sleeps of my life in the nice comfy comforters and pillows provided and woke up to a nice complimentary breakfast provided by the hotel. If you are passing through Yuma, you can't go wrong with this hotel. It's clean, the room is spacious and there are even a couple unique features like a trundle bed under the couch. Also, I believe the website said two double beds were in the room, but they were actually two queens. The room also had two closets. There is free breakfast from 6-9am and they have everything from bagels to oatmeal to pre-packaged spinach quiche. Parking is super easy and the hotel is pretty central. read more

Needed a hotel for a one night stay in Yuma. To say we were impressed is an understatement! The place appeared to be immaculate the front desk staff was super friendly and helpful. The room was a stream Lee nice and comfortable and very clean and perfect for why we were there. Can't forget the free breakfast in the morning with eggs sausage and the works.. If I ever need a hotel for a quick one or two night stay I will definitely be looking for another Springhill suites. read more

From the moment we walked into Springhill in Yuma, the staff was by far amazing! We were greeted by a beautiful girl named Patty, she was so kind and sweet. I had chatted on the Marriott app expressing that it was my son's birthday. When we got up to the room there was balloons and a card with his name on it! What a surprise! During this pandemic, I realize hotels are short staffed and taking on more then usual. The staff here did not fall short of their service! Later that night, my son was hungry and Moises helped him get some food from down stairs. It's hospitality like this that makes all the difference in a persons day. The room was nice. Heads up - the mini fridges DO NOT have a freezer, so be mindful when you go shopping. The room cleaners are some of the nicest ladies I have ever met. I really hope everyone tips them and they get raises - they are the stars of your team here. The same goes for the breakfast crew! They're always smiling and sweet - it's a wonderful way to wake up. Please forward them my thanks as well. I'm giving one star instead of five because LIZBETH was the most rude front desk attendant I have met at any Marriott across the country. San Francisco to New York to Los Angeles to Orlando - she needs to be retrained in SINCERE hospitality. Her fake smile is the RBF (resting b**** face) of the industry and she does not hide it well. I felt so uncomfortable around her that I opted to take the stairs instead of the elevator so I wouldn't have to see her when going outside. Our group of 20 pilots arranged a block of rooms for our annual training at Yuma MCAS. The process of check in and check out went smoothly and efficiently. Staff there was great. The breakfast selection was very good with eggs, sausage, assorted cereal, oatmeal, and breads. Room is great with a partitioned sitting room, good TV and wet bar with refrigerator and microwave. We had the conference room for 2 nights and was set up well with projector. Excellent hospitality. We will be back. read more

Brand new, rooms still smelled new. No bed bugs, which is always a plus. Plenty of room with the suite, and fridge, wireless Internet etc... Nice towels... Literally the place seemed like it was a week old. What I don't get it why build a brand new hotel and then put a throwback tube TV in there probably from an older Marriot hotel or equivalent there of... It was a piece of history. If you are going to have a brand new hotel why not put some nice flatscreens in there as well. Not that I like to spend my time watching TV it just seemed really awkward and out of place. The breakfast was a borderline D+ at best. Industry standard egg whites / egg patty thing. Did not look appetizing at all. Industry standard juice machine watered down, mixed with water OJ type stuff... Suitable crash pad, go elsewhere for breakfast. read more

We enjoy staying at this property once or twice each winter while visiting family in Yuma. The location is very close to shopping and restaurant area. The outside of the hotel is under renovation and will look sharp when finished. Work during the day so construction noise was not a issue for us. Always have clean comfortable rooms with Marriott quality bedding. Suggestion for a quieter room location is to ask for a northeast facing room which is located furthest from the interstate traffic noise. We like room 301 on the top floor. Also note that the pool,exercise, and breakfast lobby area closed right now which maybe very disappointing if you like those amenities. They offer a sack to go breakfast plus coffee by the front desk. read more

They do funny things with your credit card. Beware and be cautious. Three weeks after staying at this location, I noticed a charge, from this hotel. The date of the transaction was made the same day I was reviewing my card balance. Which happened to be three weeks after my folio was closed. There was no reason for this new charge. A little later in the morning, before I could get in touch with my bank, the charge was reversed. This raises serious concerns about this hotel and staff at this hotel. My folio was closed and yet somehow this hotel not only kept my credit card information on file but, nearly a month after my stay, charged my card. Sure, they reversed the charge a bit later without me contacting them. But the fact remains, they charged my card again. read more

I literally spent about 3 months in Yuma for business. The staff is friendly and made it a point to always greet me by name. All of 2008, I traveled for business and stayed in locations for several weeks or months at a time. The biggest pain was always getting a different room. What I loved about about this place, other than the staff, was they always made it a point to give me the same room, makes it so much easier. Hotel is right off I-8 and close to shopping, food, and close enough to the airport where you wont get lost, yet far enough where you dont hear the sounds of the engines. Saddens me a bit to give only two stars but not sleeping for a few nights will do that! We had two room directly above the lobby and the lobby music is better heard in those rooms than in the lobby itself (Rooms 210 and 212). Called the front desk more than once and were told they couldn't turn it down, that the person that set it up left and they don't know how to operate it and finally someone knew how to shut it off (until 6am when it came back on)! Also, the beds were broken down in the middle so two people rolled in which caused my husband and I to each take one and put the kids on the couch....not ideal. Felt like we got the "less ideal" rooms because of status or maybe because we received a military discount. Pro: Awesome staff from the front desk to the breakfast crew and the cleaning ladies! Better than the standard hotel breakfast. Great warm pool and hot tub! Great suite area for hanging out! read more

SpringHill Suites Yuma is a moderately priced hotel on the Marriott spectrum of brands. Yuma is a little less than halfway from San Diego to Phoenix or Tucson. Sometimes it makes sense to stop and stay the night, and SpringHill Suites is a good choice. It is conveniently located and easy to get on/off I-8. Gas stations are nearby (try Arco), as are restaurants, and across the street from the hotel entry street is a mall. I am a big fan of SpringHill Suites, and this property does a good job of maintaining the integrity of the brand. The grounds are well kept, the pool is clean, and the staff are cheerful and helpful. The free breakfast is good, and everything works in the rooms. The only problem I had was on my first visit when I found an empty bottle of Jack Daniels stashed in a cupboard. That shouldn't happen, and recognizing that it was an exception to an otherwise flawless operation, I have returned and plan to continue using this hotel. (Review based on four visits.) read more

I was charged twice for 230 dollars when it only should have been 100. Not one person at the front desk has any clue what's going on. Great times for the holidays. Fucken great. I thought my room was really clean. I didn't hesitate to sit on any of the furniture in the suite area. Everything worked, including the shower, fridge and air conditioner, which I thought operated at an acceptable noise level in the middle of the night. The property was nice and clean, and it's a smoke-free, which I liked. The only negative was the people above me were noisy and there was a lot of banging on ceiling. Next time I will request a top floor (I was on the first level). Otherwise, the property was nice and peaceful. The place is far enough away from the freeway (I-8) where I didn't hear any traffic. I have stayed at this hotel more than five times in the past year. During the last stay I got bitten up on my legs by something in the bed. Additionally during a prior stay the door lock on my room would not actuate from inside the room. In other words I couldn't get out of the room. The staff came up to the room and after a lot of work was able to get the door open. I was thinking the fire department would be called. Ok things go wrong with doors. But when I asked to move to another room the front desk staff acted like I was asking for a miracle. After words they finally provided another room. I spoke to the maintenance man and he cited that the lock was likely worn out needing replacement. It didn't seem like he was at all surprised. Maybe it is me but I don't want to get eaten by bed bugs nor locked in a room wondering if I have to call the fire department to get out. But in the end I expect the hotel staff to treat me well when issues such as these come up. That said another Marriott property around the corner has none of these issues and the staff provides a high level of service.... read more

We booked our block of 20 rooms here for our aviation group working out of the Yuma airport. Excellent accommodation and amenities. Great service from the staff, providing numerous trips to the airfield. Hotel is within walking distance to a variety of good restaruants. Mick Snyder, the GM was quite helpful, even loaned us a cooler for our post flying refreshments. This is THE place to stay in Yuma. read more

Yesterday I tried to make a reservation for 9/22/15 first was told no rooms. Then told I had to stay a minimum of 3 days I said on Tuesday you have no rooms! I've stayed here many times since it opened. Then she found two rooms the rate was higher then most internet sights and I noticed on the net they had senior rates when I brought this up it didn't apply Tuesday. She said I could call back couple days before I arrived to check the rate since her manager changes it every couple weeks. The reason she gave me for no rooms was winter visitors! In Sept. i said. That's when a room came up! I booked got off phone started thinking about the last 1/2 hr. or so called back and canceled. Still waiting for my cancel reservation e-mail. Won't stay there again it's nice but not worth the hassle. read more
