However, within a few minutes , the front desk told us was told that there was no staff for it. A lot of the ice machines were out and not working and also I hope they get the refrigerator in the café area checked. The first morning that we had breakfast there I went and grabbed yogurt for our daughter, and I realize that the yogurt lids were not properly sealed, so I threw it away, and I grabbed a new one only to discover it had the same problem. Then I noticed some of the yogurt was doming like they were fermenting. It was brought to the attention of the staff and they threw away yogurt. Then the next day, my husband grabbed a milk out of that same refrigerator and it was completely bad well before expiration date. Again, let staff know but it sounds like they definitely need a thermometer in that refrigerator and that refrigerator should be replaced. The hotel overall is really nice and the staff is really nice. I just think it's interesting that things are not well managed or well maintained.

Cons: The bathroom door is a slider, it's hard to open and close at times. The room temp was hard to control. It feels like an older system. Overall once we got it to where it needed to be it was fine but I had to set it for 4 degrees cooler than I normally keep at home. Overall: Cute spot, rooms are spacious, they offer continental breakfast downstairs 7-10am and there's tonsss of restaurants within walking distance. Great location. We actually ended up walking back from Levi's and took about 40 minutes. For the price and convenience it was perfect.

By 8:00 PM, there wasn't a single restaurant open nearby except for a Denny's. Upon arrival, I had to pay a $20 parking fee through my phone. There was no option to charge the parking to my lodging or even include it on the same invoice. My room on the second floor was a decent size and looked clean, but there was a loud, constant noise coming from a wood-framed corner--likely a central air conditioning pipe. To make matters worse, the entire room had a very obvious, unpleasant odor that smelled like sweaty feet. I initially thought they had simply forgotten to provide bottled water, but when I asked the front desk on my way out to dinner, they told me that complimentary water is not included in the room fare. I have never encountered a hotel like this, especially one from such a famous hotel group. The hotel seems to be proud of its free breakfast, which is served in a clean cafeteria, but it was a total disappointment. There was no real bacon, no sausage, and no fried eggs. The only meat available was precut turkey Canadian bacon, which was essentially like bologna with hard, unchewable edges. All the food was plain and tasteless; the orange juice tasted like powder mixed with water, and even the coffee was weak and lukewarm, poured from a thermos. I had requested for a mobile key, but they didn't set it up...Oh well, physical key card it is lol. What was ordered: - Corner King (comfortable room with floor to ceiling windows on the two sides of the corner walls which lets in plenty of natural light. The windows also have sheer and black out curtains. It's all very open concept with the sink area pretty much being the center of the room. The shower and toilets are behind their own doors but the bathroom is not a separate area from the bedroom. There's a small open closet area, and the mini fridge (with 2 bottles of complementary water) and safe are located on the other side of the sink, facing the bed. There's a TV facing the bed and a desk and chair set to the side. A nice thing is that they have a water station with refillable bottles that you can use.) Yay/Nay/Meh: Yay. Unfortunately, AC Hotel was fully booked. Fine. I asked the front desk agent, Roselyn, if I could stay in the lobby to search for another Marriott hotel stay since I am a Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite Member. She agreed, but after I used the restroom in the lobby and told her that all of the lavatories needed attention (NONE of the toilets were flushed, GROSS!), she seemed to change her mood. For some odd reason that night, the Marriott site was down and I could not view any available hotel rooms, so had to call Customer Service. I was put on hold for quite some time because all of the hotels in Santa Clara were fully booked. After a few minutes, Roselyn kicked me out of the hotel because "non-guests are not allowed to be in the lobby after a certain time." I asked her to make a special consideration for me because I was stranded and had no hotel room yet. She did not care and insisted that I leave and even fetched the security guard. She knew that I was alone with no place to go. She had no idea if I had transportation to go somewhere in the middle of the night. I felt like a criminal by Roselyn's unfriendly and incompassionate treatment. What extreme inhospitable treatment by someone in the hospitality industry! My experience prompted me to send feedback through the Marriott website and to call the AC Hotel to connect with the Hotel Manager, Fernando... I called on May 24 and Camille told me that Fernando would call me by Monday, the 26th. May 26 - no call from Fernando, so I called again and spoke to Shane who left a second message for Fernando. May 29 - still no call from Fernando, so I called again and left another message with Shane. Sholanda ended up calling me back instead. Not only did Fernando neglect to return my calls, my conversation with Sholanda was extremely disappointing and, frankly, shocking. I am starting to believe that the staff falls short of giving proper satisfactory customer service because management provides poor examples - After I filled Sholanda in on my interaction with Roselyn, she defended her team member by saying, "What kind of special consideration were you expecting? I wasn't there, so I can't say if Roselyn handled the situation inappropriately. Afterall, we do have protocol that non-guests should not be in the lobby after a certain time." I told her that I appreciate the protocol that looks out for the safety of AC guests and staff; however, although I was not a current guest at the time, I am still a Marriott Bonvoy customer and deserved a level of human compassion. When I told Sholanda that I work in the customer service field and found my treatment as unacceptable and offensive, Sholanda asked in what field because she wanted to compare if my expectations of Roselyn were aligned with hospitality. I told her that her inquiry was inappropriate, reminding her that it doesn't matter what field I am in because the goal of customer service is to ensure that clients feel valued and respected. Roselyn did not behave in such fashion. That is the core of the problem. Sholanda did not seem to understand this concept as she seemed more concerned with hearing Roselyn's side of the story. WOW. We ended the conversation with Sholanda telling me that she would have Fernando call me back. It's now the night of June 11 and I have not heard from him. My daughter works night shift in the ICU at Stanford Hospital and commutes to work. She is pregnant and experiencing significant nausea and exhaustion, so she booked a room specifically from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. so she could safely sleep and rest between shifts. Her coworker, who is also pregnant and works alongside her, decided to share the room. When they arrived, they were told the hotel had overbooked and cancelled their reservation. They explained their situation and asked to speak with the manager. They were told it was not the manager's fault, and the manager refused to come out of her office to speak with them. The front desk employee was left trying to find another hotel for two exhausted, pregnant healthcare workers who were simply trying to get some sleep between ICU shifts. Thankfully, the housekeeping manager heard what was happening and went out of his way to help. He found the girls a room and asked them to be out by 4:30 p.m. However, the manager in the office initially refused to allow that. A third manager eventually stepped in and spoke with the first manager. After all of this, it was finally decided that the girls could stay until 4:00 p.m. , nearly six hours less than what they had originally reserved , and they would still be charged the full price. And then they got to their room and there was no electricity. At that point, the entire purpose of booking the room, getting some much-needed sleep between ICU shifts, was compromised yet again. I want to give credit to the front desk employee and housekeeping manager, who genuinely tried to help and showed compassion. Unfortunately, the way this situation was handled by management was extremely disappointing. Hotels make mistakes. How you handle those mistakes matters. Overbooking and cancelling a reservation is already unacceptable, but refusing to personally speak with guests, providing a room without electricity, cutting their reserved time by nearly six hours, and still charging them full price is simply not how guests should be treated. I would strongly encourage anyone looking for a hotel in the Milpitas/Silicon Valley area to consider other options before booking here. Based on this experience, we will not be returning.

No scuff marks to be found anywhere. Everything that you just sort of tolerate at most hotels is just so much better at a new hotel. I've never stayed at a TownePlace Suites before so I've got nothing to compare to. My room did seem a bit on the small side though the layout was thoughtful and the built in couch was a nice touch. The room has plenty of light and a good sized desk if you need to work. My room's window was unfortunately immediately next to the glass walled hallway, which created some window privacy problems (even using the filtered shades) until I just gave up and dropped the second set of roller blinds, which then blocked out all the natural light. :( Based on the building diagram, I'd guess that slightly less than half of the rooms face into the enclosed interior courtyard, which was very quiet but which might create other privacy weirdness from neighbors across the way. You may want to request an outside or inside-facing room at check-in based on your preferences. Secured parking runs $30 a night but seemed plentiful. It seemed a very fair price for a city hotel and well worth the peace of mind and convenience. I did see a few guests parking on the street. No thanks. The only real down side of my stay was the wall unit-style ac, which was a bit fussy and switched off until the room was a bit warm and would then turn on and blast arctic air and freeze the space. Bed linens were thankfully multi-layered so I was eventually able to figure out how to get to the right temp for sleep. Overall, I liked the hotel. I'm not sure how much it actually costs to stay here but TownePlace is a very good alternative to the big downtown hotels a half mile to the east as long as you've got a car.

Upon check-in, I realized I booked a single bed in an ADA accessible room. I asked the young lady working the front desk, if that could be changed to a double bed and a non-accessible room, as that was not needed. She seemed very uninterested in helping and/or changing my reservation, because I booked through a "third party." After going to the room that she assigned me, I immediately came back down to request to speak with the Manager. Luckily, the Manager was gracious enough to have a little empathy and provided me with a better room. It's a little disappointing that I had to involve a Manager to get something done. The room itself was very clean, and appeared to be newly renovated. The bed could have been a little more comfortable, but it did job for a weekend stay. For some apparent reason, there was only one face towel in a room that had double beds. When we called down to request more, we were told we had to come down to the front desk to retrieve more. Once at the front desk, we were told they had run out of face towels...so unfortunately, we had to go purchase our own. That was very odd to hear of a big hotel chain. Overall, this hotel would probably be better suited for someone traveling on business and not for a weekend get away with family and/or visiting a student at SJSU.
