We stayed here at the end of June 2019. Being that the hotel is fairly new, the room and building itself were great. It's conveniently located next to a Target and the Hilldale Mall, so it's easy to walk to restaurants or Metacalfe's Grocery Store if you want to pick up food or drinks. It's a very modern hotel with the newest features. Very clean. We didn't use the workout room or pool but both looked nice. The bed was very comfortable and the room had a sitting area, working desk, microwave and fridge. Staff was very friendly and always greeted us when we came or went. Parking is very convenient and is attached to the building, I think it was $20 per night. They offer a free complimentary breakfast in the lobby area which included a lot of things such as scrambled eggs, pastries, cereal, bacon/sausage, waffles, fresh fruit, oatmeal, toast, coffee, juice and tea. It wasn't the greatest breakfast I've had but for being included in the price, a nice addition. State Street was a 10 minute drive from the hotel so you're close enough to the city but not paying city prices. The University of Wisconsin-Madison Arboretum is a lovely park close to the hotel, check it out if you're in the area! We will definitely stay there again in the future!

2 queen beds - The image shows a hotel room with a large window revealing a view of trees and a building outside. A bed with white bedding is in the room, and a person's leg is extended across the bed in the foreground. The room has neutral-colored walls, a door leading to a balcony or outside area, and minimal furnishings.

Nice/ clean hotel- seems to be brand new. Very friendly front desk workers. Great location- right next to a target, chipotle and a mall. Only negative I could say-Don't expect much from the bartender.

This hotel was near perfect and I could see why it's Michelin rated…read more I don't usually stay in boutique hotels but when looking at the nearby major chains, they didn't look appealing. The room was clean and had a rustic modern feel. When the carpet is beige, you know they have to take care of it consistently. Everything had a plush feel. The shower had a rainfall showerhead and a handheld. There's a scent that emanates throughout the hotel and into your room. It's light and adds to the ambiance. It's also in the sheets and linen too. I guess that adds to one of the negatives I list later in that the HVAC seems to be centrally controlled. There was some very minor debris in the sink that may have been left from wiping of a dirty rag, but that was mostly it. Gym was nice and parking was plentiful and free. What I didn't like: - Mini fridge in the room had a lot of snacks and other drinks that I assume were for sale. I usually pack my own food, so those items took up some space in the fridge - I get cold easily, so I try to adjust the thermostat, but it's centrally controlled, which I've never seen... I'm assuming all of the rooms are regulated in this way... - Breakfast bar- had bare minimal which I really don't mind. I really wouldn't expect a place like this to serve you breakfast unless it was full service. Would definitely come back

Also has a mini bar in the room. Only negative point is there was no refrigerator or microwave. Great restaurant located just off the lobby for a fine dining experience. Does not have full breakfast but does have grab and go muffins, fruit, coffee, etc. They also have a rooftop bar where one can sit inside or outside. Full bar with good bartenders. Menu is limited but still plenty to choose from. We had an order of mussels and a charcuterie tray. Both were very good. Our bartender was Colton and he took good care of us.

But their local shuttle came in clutch for the ride there! Didn't love the front desk person with glasses and no name tag talk to us condescendingly about the shuttle for after our show. We weren't demanding it, we were asking what to do about potentially getting it because we didn't know how long the show would be. Aidan at check in was helpful and efficient, though I'm not quite sure what was an "upgrade" about our room. It was certainly nice, but judging from the pictures on the website, definitely still just a "room" and not a "suite," as there was no couch. The decor was very lovely and everything was in excellent condition, too. The bathroom was perfect for two people and the shower was excellent as well. The elevator could be a little slow, so if you can, consider taking the stairs as you'll definitely save some time especially if it's busy. The light up sign as you exited the elevator showing the time of day was very cool and I enjoyed getting to see it lit up in two different combinations. Gym is in great condition and very spacious, too! All in all, a worthy entry in terms of Madison hotels.

Happened to visit Madison during a busy weekend, there was a Wisconsin game, Packers game, and…read moreanother big event all at once, so hotel prices were definitely up (ours came to about $500 for the night). Normally it's much more reasonable, though. Parking was a little confusing at first since it's not super clear where to go, but when I called the hotel, the staff was friendly and explained we could park in the garage behind the building for $20 a night through the hotel. Super easy once we found it, and I liked that you can use your key card for in-and-out access. Check-in was smooth and I loved they have a texting option if you need anything during your stay, very convenient! The room itself was clean, fresh, and had a few little surprises. I genuinely thought I was hearing music from the other room when I turned on the shower, but it turns out there's a bar in the shower that plays music when the water hits it, such a relaxing, spa-like touch. The TV even had a personalized welcome screen with my name, and as a rewards member, the late checkout was a super nice perk. The robes were clean, cozy, and perfect for lounging while getting ready. Location-wise, it's perfect! Right downtown and close to plenty of bars, restaurants, the capitol, and the Orpheum Theatre where we were going to. Uber and Lyft were easy to get, but the hotel also offers a complimentary shuttle service within a 3-mile radius, which is such a nice option. We didn't get to use it this time since it was first come, first serve, and even with scheduling the shuttle, timing didn't work out for us with their logistics and the game, but I love that they have it as a complimentary option. Security felt great too, the doors lock after a certain hour and require a key card for entry. In-room amenities were solid: a Nespresso for coffee, a spacious antique-style fridge, and the bed and pillows were extremely comfortable! I slept so well. There were a couple minor hiccups, the streaming on the TV had audio issues (the front desk mentioned it's been an ongoing problem), and the small mirror light in the bathroom kept shutting off, but those were easy to overlook. We ended up getting the audio working. Overall, the room was spacious, stylish, and thoughtfully designed, with a separate workspace, a lounging area, and a fun mix of vintage and modern decor. Loved the artwork, neon touches, and overall vibe. It was clean, safe, and full of personality. Definitely a spot I'd stay at again next time I'm in Madison!

This was notably less expensive than the hotels close to the Capitol and not as cheap as the ones a little further out in the suburbs. This hit the sweet spot. Would definitely stay here again. PROS: Super clean and tidy everywhere; Fair value; No charge for parking; Handy free shuttle (that we used to go to Camp Randall for the big grad ceremony); Only a 20 minute walk to Camp Randall; Washer & dryer on several floors which was super helpful when we unexpectedly needed to wash a few things; Front desk staff was super friendly and helpful; Nice modest restaurant inside hotel; Sandwiched next to two busy street and I am a very light sleeper but had no problem w the noise (we were on University St side); Beds were comfortable; Fantastic food; AC wall unit performed just fine; Bathroom was in excellent shape w a shower only; Spectacular lunch place to eat across the street called Pasture and Plenty, what a find! CONS: Shuttle was busy a few times and we didn't want to wait so we grabbed a Lyft (not a big deal); Some of the carpets and furniture were slightly worn but not an issue. If you want the Four Seasons don't stay here but you're paying a very fair price. Pros WAY outweighed the Cons

I wanted to like this place but it was horribly dated and dirty. My fiance and I stayed in one of…read morethe tranquility rooms for two nights over spring break and I'm really happy we didn't stay any longer. The staff was very friendly, but our visit started off on a concerning note. When we were checking in, the gentleman at the front desk told me that the pool had failed inspection and that there would be another inspection the next day, so hopefully it would be open that afternoon the next day. Already gross if you can't pass inspection and a bad first impression. When we walked down to our room, there were empty Amazon boxes littering common areas. This place could be featured on hotel hell if it was still running/producing seasons. I was really disappointed with our room. I absolutely LOVE the idea of themed rooms, but ours clearly hadn't been serviced in a long time. It smelled horribly musty, the bed was so thin and uncomfortable that we could feel the wood frame underneath, and the bathroom was gross. My back was really sore in the morning, and it was not a good way to start off a day of hiking. The wallpaper was all peeling and it's clear this room hasn't really been updated in a while. We didn't feel comfortable touching the carpet so we wore our crocs the whole time we were there. Breakfast was mediocre at best. The arm of my chair also broke off as I was trying to pull it into the table. The biscuits and gravy were very cafeteria like and I didn't even want to touch the eggs because they came in the weird shaped circles like the kind you get from McDonald's. My stomach felt really bad after eating breakfast both times so l don't recommend eating breakfast, even if it is included. I lived in a dorm for three years at school, so I'm pretty used to less than ideal conditions, but this even grossed me out. It's clear this place has a lot of really cool history, but it reached its peak a long time ago and I'm sad I wasn't able to see it in its prime. I would've loved to come back, but not for $180 dollars a night. Taxes and fees came to nearly $100, so for two nights and three days we payed $464. 400+ dollars and we didn't even feel comfortable taking our shoes off? Not worth it. As much as I love the themed suite ideas, don't waste your money to get terrible food and dirty rundown rooms.

Unique, quirky, different! Someone recommended this place…read morebecause of the unique themed rooms. We reserved our room online with no problems. The staff was warm and welcoming when we arrived to check in. Interior decorations are fun. There is a giant fire pit in the middle of the lobby. There is a circle of old barber chairs around the fireplace. The gentleman at the front desk said they have nightly fires and sit around and chat. We had planned to go to but got a little tired. We took our stuff to our room. We were right down the stairs and the first door at the bottom of the stairs. We rented the Cave room. The door even was decorated to look like rock. We felt safe as we were able to shut our cave door and lock it as needed. As you walk in the room you see the Jacuzzi tub. The waterfall fills the tub when you turn on the water. The tub needs a little maintenance but still usable. The walls, floor and ceiling all are made to look like a cave. They have a few lights to so you don't stub your toes and also a white sound machine with projecting lights to make it look like your cave has stars and the sound of crickets. The hotel is dated, but that is not preventing us from this adventure. The unique themed rooms brought us here. Have that open mind for this place. The bed is round! There is plenty of room but it made us laugh that you have to crawl across it to get to the head of the bed. Everything in the room worked. The wifi is touch and go in this room, but you are below ground. There is a fridge right within arms length of the bed. There is a decent sized shower and we loved that there was 2 televisions. One over the Jacuzzi tub and one near the bed. It was one the coolest hotel stays we ever done. We were only a short drive to the House on the Rock. The breakfast had biscuits, gravy, meat and eggs in the morning. It looks like it would have been decent. The coffee, I suggest skipping. There was juice and other options. Again the staff was nice. They greeted us when they saw us and wished us well as we left. This is the place out of the ordinary and I would recommend a stay here. Don't forget to check out the plane out front. Its not kept up, but its got some cool history.
