Only good things to say about this hotel. The staff was really friendly. The breakfast was okay, but I don't expect a lot out of a complimentary breakfast. The room was clean, and everything was functional. The room is wide, and the TV is centrally located, so it's kind of far from one of the TVs. It was just me in the room, so it was okay. The fitness room was simple. Just enough to take the edge off if you're missing your gym. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat. read more

The staff was nice but the management was non responsive and not empathetic at all. I checked in and went to my room. I found poop in the toilet. I made the front desk aware and asked for a manager to give me a call. I checked out the next morning and made the morning desk person aware and asked if a manager was available. She said no she's sorry someone will call. I emailed 3 times in 2 days and no one contact me. I called twice as well and I finally get an email stating because I didn't ask for a room change she could not do anything. Mind you I had not asked for anything but someone to call and discuss. The poop is not as big a deal as the manager not caring about my experience. I have never experienced such lack of care at a hotel. read more

I brought this up to the General Manager who apologized and offered a refund. Two weeks later I called to check on refund, was told it will take a few days as it is done by corporate. Two weeks later I call back, same story. I file a dispute and they replied to Amex that "There is no record of guest dissatisfaction" which is patently untrue as I spoke with the GM in person. I reopened the dispute providing pictures to Amex, the same pictures I showed the GM while I was there. I also called the GM again, now she claims I made the stains with McDonalds sauces. It was very late when we checked in and we didn't have any food. This location not only has dirty rooms but also management that is willing to lie. I'd rather sleep in my car than stay here again. read more

Booked the room with options; but when I arrived the only room available was a handicap sweet. These rooms can be convenient for those needing it but had things that became an inconvenience for me. Hopefully you can avoid that because water is not contained when showering (ease of access for wheelchair). The TV is placed on the same side as the Sofa which means the only way to watch TV is to sit on the bed or a rolling chair. Breakfast is hot and more than enough; nothing to write home about though. The staff is friendly but they are not great at noise reduction proactively. Down stairs room and I had to call at 12am to get them to tell other guests need to go to their rooms and stop yelling down the hall. Had that been my only night I would give a 2 star. Almost forgot the basics- hot water and good pressure in showers. Good bed (not soft - I need firm) and the room was clean. Restaurants in walking distance. Fortunately I stayed all week and the majority of the stay was fine. Did not guarantee that my next stay is here. I will keep looking for the hotel in this area and let you know. Will stay again because of location but the air conditioner went on and off all night and it constantly woke me up. Also, I felt the bathroom was okay and the rugs definitely need to be updated as they were musty and damp. Kept shoes on in the room. All in all, I like the location and the breakfast, not to mention they have great coffee. However, the room could use an upgrade, especially the rugs and bathroom. Modernizing the air unit so it can stay on and not just be on auto mode would also be a plus. read more

When I checked in, the woman at the front desk was incredibly friendly and efficient. I believe her name was Rita. She was able to maintain her focus and composure even though she had another employee (not named Karen, but might as well be) bitching nonstop about passwords or guests or some other crap. My room was okay but the bed was incredibly high, and I'm 6'3"! And it was stupid hard. There was also only about 24" between the bed and wall so it was tight. The bathroom light didn't work so I showered in the dark. And I literally had run the water for over 5 minutes to warm up, not sure what's up with that. read more

Quite noisy even as late as 10:30 pm No hand soap at all. There was body wash, shampoo, conditioner, a small shoe shine cloth, and a make-up wipe. To my surprise though, the shampoo, conditioner, and lotion were nice and moisturizing. I used shampoo as my hand soap. The room was really large room, could be that it was a handicap assessable room, although the bathroom was equipped with a bathtub. Most wheelchair assessable rooms I have stayed in have a "wheel-in" shower as opposed to a tub. Bathroom sink was in a separate area from the shower and toilet which was nice. The room had an additional small sink near the microwave and mini-fridge. The large West Elm sofa was also a pull-out bed and a trundle bed. This was a high quality trundle/daybed/sofa. The bed was possibly an older spring bed as opposed to a memory foam style bed. It was decent, not overly comfortable but I slept well on it. Could have been my long drive before the hotel that made me so exhausted I could have slept anywhere. The only thing that was a little aggravating was that the mattress was enclosed in a plastic type matttress cover (brand was "Protect A Bed") under the fitted sheet. This covering felt stiff and made a plastic sound when I moved around but the comforter and sheets were soft and odor-free. The next morning when I stripped the bed, I learned that the other bed in the room had a soft cotton mattress cover and not the same plastic one. The hotel is in walking distance to a couple of restaurants and in walking distance to several other hotels. I always strip down the bed for housekeeping and one of the pillows didn't have a pillow protector on it. The front desk employee was friendly and professional. Other than the no soap thing, the room had everything I needed to include a very large desk, plenty of lights, and 5 USB outlets. read more

Stayed in Jax for a few weeks for work in a facility very close to this hotel. Location was great and there are restaurants in walking distance. Also a dive bar/ liquor store right there. Room was clean and the staff was great! Another great point is that it's only about 3 stop lights away from a shopping district called City Center. My only complaint was I was monitoring a night shift and in the mornings sometimes the housekeeping staff would put the door bolts out so they could go in and out of the room they were cleaning which made for a bunch of slamming noise from the doors. Other housekeepers would put a towel down to hold open the door. It wasn't so bad across the two weeks so I didn't actually complain to them. read more

This was my worst Marriott experience ever and I have been a member for a very long time. After checking into the hotel on 10/5/23 I changed to three rooms within 24 hours of being there. My first room, there was an issue with the drain, so when I showered, I was in a pool of dirty water. I changed rooms that night, to then wake up in the new room to see visible black mold on the walls. They then switch my room to another room for it to smell like mold and mildew which caused my allergies and asthma to act up so much that at that point I knew I could no longer stay at the hotel. I contacted Marriott Bonvoy the night of 10/6 and told the assistant everything that has happened and how I was concerned about my health and could no longer stay. He stated that he would register a complaint for me requesting a refund for my stay and he helped me to book another hotel directly through Marriott. I asked the Marriott assistant if I should check out at the front desk of my current hotel since I was switching to another that night. He told me not to notify them because it would interfere with my complaint. So I did as I was instructed to do and I left that hotel and checked into another spring hill suites hotel on 10/6/23. I was told to give it a few days for someone to look over my complaint and then checked back in a few days. I have called Marriott bonvoy several times and have spent countless hours on the phone for them to tell me that the hotel closed out my complaint on three separate occasions. Finally I was told to contact the hotel directly as Bonvoy could not do anything since I booked my hotel travel through my AmEx travel. I reached out to general manager Kim multiple times only to be told that she was in meetings and to give my contact information for her to call me back. Today is 10/29/23 and I have yet to here from this GM. My AmEx travel has also reached out to the GM and she refuses to answer us. This is Unacceptable read more

Garbage. 1 elevator doesn't work so the other one takes forever to even get to the floor you're on. The hallways and elevator are always hot. The tv is super small and not even facing towards the bed. The water pressure is bad and the hot water would take forever. Checkout on website saids 12 pm, while over there I was told 11 am. The toilet paper holder is far away from the toilet & the garbage can isn't even in the bathroom. I had to put the garbage can in the bathroom. Carpet is disgusting, dirty, and nasty. Some tiles in the bathroom are different sizes and/or falling off. The shower curtain is short so every time you shower the water would always get out onto the tile and it would be a mess. The room I had was just garbage, garbage, garbage. Actually, the whole hotel is just garbage. P.S: there's a "manager" here that saids she's the manager, but doesn't even know what she's doing; I doubt she's the manager. She didn't even have a name tag. Why doesn't the "manager" have a name tag? I didn't get her name, but she was white with blonde hair and there was another woman who wears glasses; didn't get her name either. Both are very rude. Don't even bother staying here. Go to a different hotel. read more

There was mold in the room. The window was leaking water above the a/c unit. It was a continuous drip and you could hear it splash all night. The night auditor said the hotel was full so I was not able to cancel and go elsewhere or change rooms. The only compensation was for points and not even enough for a night's stay at a decent place. Will not recommend or come here anymore. Don't even try to get in touch with management. She never responded to my e-mail and never came out of the office to address any concerns. read more

She told me I could try getting an Uber or a Lyft. Well, I have to leave this hotel for the airport at 4:30am, so I hope trying is sufficient. Also, don't bother bringing a swim suit. My co-worker and I are corporate pilots. We had a reservation made for us by our company scheduler/dispatcher who called the hotel at 11:30pm the night before and confirmed with Marcia that we would be arriving about 9:30 the following morning. Because we were at work very early that morning required a room so we could rest for a few hours before returning to work. This is a common practice for us which we actually did on the two previous stays in other locations with no problems. It is a good revenue stream for Marriott and helps us with getting some rest. This morning when we arrived at the Springhill Suites Jacksonville Airport the young lady behind the counter said she already closed out the rooms. We still needed the rooms. She got the manager, Kim, who stormed out and was ready for an argument. She informed us that no one had called, and we were counted as no shows, would be billed for the room, and if we wanted rooms we would have to pay again. We paid for additional rooms because we needed the rest and rather than arguing with Kim, felt we would deal with it later. Kim then berated us because she didn't like the way we set out credit cards on the counter. She failed to greet us in the Marriott way and wasn't going to hear anything we had to say...she dug in her heals and we needed a room for rest which we did for a short while and departed at 2:00pm. Also about an hour before I left I was shocked to find a huge cockroach in my bathroom and my coffee pot did not work. The room was filthy. I visit a lot of Marriott properties and Kim is by far, the worst representative I've encountered on any of their properties or any other hotel for that matter. read more

I had booked another hotel but there renovation was running longer than expected so Travelocity cancelled and booked my family and I at Spring Hill. We called from the airport and the shuttle came.promptly. It was about a 5 min ride. The hotel seems to have been newly remodeled. The lobby was very chic with nice display of art, a breakfast area and a separate sitting/lounging area. There's a very small gym about 5 pieces of equipment that neighbors an outdoor lounge located next to a small pool perfect for children and just dipping on a hot day. Adults won't get.decent laps in. There's a Chilli's located closeby and a steak house. There are other hotels along the strip but not much else. Very woodsy area. Rooms/suites are clean with basic amenities; fridge, microwave, iron, blowdryer. To really see anything touristy you have to drive.on average about 30mins. The closest mall is Market City which has a Walmart, Ross, Old Navy, Marshalls, Wild.Wings, Panera, Olive Garden, Cold Stone etc for eating out. If you're from NY and looking for some good food by way of Brooklyn stop Renna's pizza. read more

Been on the road now for two full days, and checked in around 10:30p. It was easy enough to get to our room, although elevators are slow and one was down (no big deal in the grand scheme of things, at the time). It was refreshing to walk into the room and the A/C was on blast and working...it did cycle off periodically and make the room eerily quiet.. but whatever. Biggest complaint is the water pressure in the shower and the ....slow plumbing with the toilet...Marcos walked by a couple room parties with questionable recreational activities in action...but they weren't bothering us. We were back on the road by 4a so, not sure about any of the other amenities offered. read more

This hotel has been great! The staff was very warm and welcoming upon arrival and all other encounters. During breakfast I noticed the most staff members and they all made sure to tell every guest hello and ask how they were. The front desk seems to be empty more often than not but someone is usually around the corner so no need to fear. The complimentary breakfast is fantastic! It's made fresh every morning and the hot items seem to change daily. Everything looks very appetizing and fresh. All the usuals are here such as juices, coffee, milks, cereal, muffins, and waffles. The rooms are so nice! All updated and it's huge! We got a room with two queen beds and a NICE west elm pull out sofa. The room also has a kitchen area, a bathroom area, a living room desk area, and the sleeping area. I was surprised how large this room was for only like $94 a night?!? And a free shuttle.. and free breakfast! Yes please. The beds were comfortable to me but everyone's taste in beds are different so don't take me on that too much. The area is also great! I'm able to easily walk (with sidewalks) to Dunkin' Donuts maybe half a mile down the street (straight shot). There are a few nice restaurants like mill house in the area too. More importantly there is a zaxbys, long horn, and ruby tuesdays in the parking lot!! Uber eats delivers here until roughly 11pm it seems, McDonald's, pizza, and Chinese. Overall, being a penny pitcher and all, I would totally stay here again! The ONLY downside of this stay was they don't have EV chargers. I had to park at the Hilton on the street to charge up and then walk over here, which was an easy nice walk. I just wish more places were accommodating to EV drivers. Oh also, they don't have a hot tub! Ugh so sad because it was too cold to swim but we brought our suits anyways for a possibly dip in the hot tub and was let down read more

The staff at this hotel were so professional and thorough with all aspects of our stay. The entrance is bright and well decorated. The room we stayed in was comfortable, clean and nicely decorated. The bathroom did not have an air circulator which is definitely something I missed. The beds were a bit firm for my liking and did not have as many pillows as we like but these are minor gripes. The breakfast was absolutely delicious with many healthy options. Everything was kept stocked and hot. The breakfast attendant was very sweet and made sure the staff kept everything clean and orderly. I highly recommend this hotel for business travel or even family travel. read more

We totally forgot that breakfast ends at 9 am on weekdays, and so we came down at 930 am not knowing that the kitchen is closing. One of the ladies from the kitchen staff kindly reminded us that breakfast was over, but she gave us a few more minutes to get what we need. Another lady from the kitchen came out and made sure our kids got what they wanted for breakfast. These simple gestures meant a lot to me and my wife. The place is very clean and the pool is well maintained. I will recommend this place to friends and family and I will stay here again with my family when we visit Jacksonville in the future. read more

I'm glad we decided to give this place a chance. I was worried about staying here after reading so many poor reviews. I'm not sure that all of the bad reviews are warranted. The hotel was clean in the common areas as well as our room (I'm a clean freak and check the beds/room for bed bugs and wipe down the room with Lysol wipes. The bed was very clean as were the wipes when I finished wiping down the room as was everything else. No bad smells). Our room did not have mold. We were on the 4th floor at the end of the hall and given water and chips upon checkin. The hotel staff we came in contact with was very nice and the shuttle picked us up quickly from the airport when we called. The breakfast was a normal hotel breakfast with hot and cold breakfast options as well as fruits and muffins. We can't complain. Close to a Walmart and offsite places to eat in walking distance. For the price, we are very happy with our stay and I would stay there again. The only negative was the iron cord would not stay pulled out-it kept retracting. But overall a good stay. read more

I rarely expect much from a hotel in Jacksonville, as they are typically generic and or downright yuck. The Airport Springhill Suites really surprised me, to say the least. The decor was very contemporary and stylish, and the staff was polite. Transportation to the airport was easy to schedule and, most importantly, free. The room itself was immaculate and well-appointed with a living room with sofabed, separate vanity and kitchenette. Very impressive, I would highly recommend to anyone needing to stay near the airport, otherwise head towards the beaches or downtown. read more

The main reason I choose this hotel was for the airport transportation. It is free and convenient...however, that was not the case upon my departure. I had a 6:20am flight into New Orleans and requested the shuttle to pick me up at 5am. They said that would not be a problem and I called again that morning just to confirm. Once again they said everything was in order. Well, I went down at 5am and no shuttle. They ended up calling another shuttle to pick me up. The main reason I am upset is that this is almost a requirement for an airport hotel. No one wants to be late for their airlines, especially when you make all the preps to make sure that all will be taken care of. Overall, the hotel is nice. One of the nicest in the airport area. The room was very comfortable and included a large flat screen t.v. with free coffee, Internet and breakfast. If you do plan to stay here, make sure that they will provide transportation on time and have a back-up plan as well. The hotel is in a boring area but does have several restaurants all within a few minutes walking distance of the hotel. read more

But, I called for the hotel shuttle after landing in JAX, and was told that it was on the way - It's 7 mins from the hotel to the airport. 20 mins later, I called again and was told "I'll call the driver again". We stayed here less than 12 hours but I was very impressed - so much so that I felt the need to post a review, so that's saying something! My husband and I and our 7 month old baby stayed here the night before an early flight home to Boston. Upon check-in to our king suite, we saw our baby's travel crib (a nice pack-n-play style crib) all set up for us, along with a gift bag on the desk including a bath toy, baby shampoo, baby lotion, baby powder, and a mini bottle of dish soap. What a thoughtful thing to do for weary traveling parents! There was also a note saying that if we needed a nightlight or plug covers, they could provide those too. Since we were only staying one night (almost LESS than one night - we had to wake up at 4:30am...) then it wasn't necessary for us, but I can see that coming in very handy once junior is mobile! We missed out on the free breakfast, and didn't need to use the free airport shuttle, so I can't speak to either of those. The outdoor pool looked inviting, but we didn't have time to enjoy it! PROS: - comfortable bed with pretty linens - light dimmers by the bed - nice kitchenette area with granite countertops - baby goodie bag! - blackout blinds - ipod dock - many area restaurants will deliver to your room - free parking CONS: - thin walls/doors - we could hear our neighbors above, below and beside our room all night - the hallway carpet was being replaced and the workers continued until well past 7pm on a Saturday. It was noisy, smelly, and disruptive when we were trying to get our baby to sleep at about 6:30... - no fan in the bathroom All in all, if I found it necessary, I'd definitely stay here again - and any other Springhill Suites. read more

I've been going to Marriott hotels for over a decade and have tallied over a thousand nights. My experience is generally pretty good or outstanding when I travel. The Springhill Suites near the airport in Jacksonville, FL wasn't so good. The staff although nice, were very unorganized and unmotivated during check in and any other requests during the stay. Best word I can come up with is "sloppy." I know Marriott can do better than this, this is why they are getting 2 stars from me. I will stay somewhere else next time I'm in town. They also held a family reunion in the lobby that had a DJ... it was very loud and disruptive. I can't believe they have zero regard for guests. I understand renting out a conference room but to have a DJ for such a small hotel. That is unacceptable! read more

I decided to stay in this hotel a night before my flight from the Jacksonville Airport. I did an online check-in so when I got there, the room was already ready and cold. Its only 5 minutes from the airport and there is a shuttle service available for free as well. The price is pretty reasonable and the room was clean and well equipped with everything except toothbrush and toothpaste, which you can get from the front desk. There is free wifi in the rooms. The only thing that bothered me was around 6am it started to get really loud around my room. I think its because the walls are thin?!? maybe. But I was not able to sleep well after. They serve breakfast from 7am to 10am and it was better than I expected. It's buffet style, included coffee, tea, scrambled eggs with topping options like shredded cheese, spinach and salsa, boiled eggs, yogurt, four different kinds of fruits, oatmeal with toppings- chocolate, cranberry, sugar and cinnamon, chocolate as well as regular milk in small cartons, different kinds of bagels, biscuit, bread and muffins. If your flight is before the breakfast timing, they stock the bagels, fruits, yogurt and muffins early in the morning (around 4:30-5am) for you to grab and go. Also, the coffee is available at all the times and is complimentary. There is a small market near the front desk, where you can buy snacks like chips, candy and even wine and beer. A beer bottle costs around $3.75 each. Don't forget to check in on Yelp to a get a free item from the market. Overall, I recommend this hotel if you are looking for something around the airport area. read more

Time to find another hotel. This is 8th stay and half of the nights have been below par. This morning, the final straw was the third party airport shuttle they choose to use was an hour late and refused at times to pickup the phone. Top this with noisy doors slamming till 2 am, noisy AC fan, and what sounded like an out of balance.... the non restful stay and incompetent management and shuttle causing me to miss the flight says pick one of the other 6 or 7 hotels along the airport row. read more

Absolutely amazing !! After driving 14 hours with 3 kids in the car we just needed a place to lay or heads and didn't care about anything else but this place was fantastic. Autumn and Eileen at the front desk were extremely friendly and went above and beyond helping us. The rooms were clean, spacious, and very comfortable. The complimentary breakfast in the morning was the best breakfast I've had at any hotel. The food was hot, delicious, and the staff there never let anything get below half way done without filling it up. If we are ever in the Jacksonville area again and need a place to stay this will definitely be it. read more
