Stayed at this hotel for a quick overnight rest. I think it's good just for that. The hotel itself is just a bit older, so I just think they need a little makeover for some areas more than others. Can't speak for the pool as we didn't have a chance to use it but it seemed nice and clean. We ate breakfast as it was free while there. It's a small spread but enough to get you through. There were bagels, cereal, sausage, eggs, different drinks like milk and juice, of course coffee. I'm sure there were other little items I just didn't look at it all. I think what makes this hotel is the staff. All were very kind and welcoming. For example when getting breakfast, the staff who was refilling the station took the effort to ask if we needed anything, directed us to where the high chairs were. In addition, we needed assistance in our room and they came in ready to help and with great attitude. Overall, it's not terrible but I hope in the future they are able to make some updates. I will say the bed was pretty comfy so whatever mattress they had, I hope they continue to use that kind. I hope they still have as nice staff as they do now in the future as well. read more

Sad to write this review but we cannot get over how awful this location is. The room (suite) reaked of cigarettes. Crystal(desk manager) sprayed carpet deodorizer all over and told us it was disappear. We wore shoes the entire time. So outdated and unclean. Shower turned into a bath due to severe hair clog (trying not gag) - reported to front desk. Left for the day - came back and the bathroom was completely disheveled and the floor dirty from maintenance persons boots. The hallway smelled fresher than the room. No other rooms available due to NASCAR race. Didn't sleep, completely grossed out at how disgusting everything was. Hotel owners need to start over with a complete remodel and gutting of rooms. read more

1 is a stretch. Absolutely filthy, and if it hadn't been so late driving to Florida from Delaware, we would have bailed. Disgusting. The front desk person didn't even look up as we left. JW would be rolling in his grave if he saw this place! Go anywhere else. read more

I always enjoy Marriott hotels, including Fairfield Inn, and Springhill suites. I especially wanna mention the front desk woman. Her name is Krystal, and she is absolutely wonderful. This was one of the most unique experiences I've ever had with a hotel. My wife and I booked a room, for $160. We were charged a $200 CASH deposit, because although my wife and I are active duty military and live in Maryland, her home of record ID was Florence SC. Even if we can get past the fact that the deposit was more than room amount, and appeared to have some prejudice towards locals, the fact that we could not get our cash back, because the "GM" wasn't present was absolutely unacceptable. Now we are in danger of missing our units movement and other administrative consequences because, of predatory hotel practices aimed to dissuade locals from staying at this hotel. Oh, and the room, had a TV you couldn't see from the bed. Not sure if this is new management but this is extremely disappointing considering this chain is generally a reliable stay. read more

Stayed at this property on my travel from NY to Florida and was very impressed. I arrived early, about 1:30 pm and was treated by a lovely lady named Melinie Able. I explained that I had arrived early but was hoping to be allowed to check in. She immediately checked to see what rooms were available and found one on the third floor. I explained that I had a service animal and wasn't sure if they wanted him up there. She said her priority was getting me checked in quickly. That was much appreciated as I'd been traveling since 3 am. Upon getting to the room the first thing I noticed was the size, absolutely huge. Then it was the smell, fresh and clean smelling. Even the carpet looked fresh and clean. Honestly, I can find nothing wrong with my experience here! The bed is super comfortable and I slept like a log. The morning breakfast was a hot, cooked meal which was lovely. As a travel nurse, I have stayed in many Marriott properties over the past year and have been impressed with them all. This one however far exceeded my expectations, especially being right off the Interstate where it won't get many long term stays. Thank you Melinie for all you did during my stay. You and the evening desk lady are a true asset to the property. read more

A nice place to stay in the Florence area. SpringHill Suites, a brand under the Marriott umbrella, was founded in 1998 from a desire to offer travelers a refreshing and innovative lodging experience. It quickly gained popularity for its contemporary design, spacious suites, and excellent service and, as of 2021 had over 500 hotels. There are several of these hotels in South Carolina. This particular one is located on the southeast side of the I-95 and I-20B intersection. Check-in was easy and the staff was friendly. There is plenty of parking around the hotel. The hallways look very new in their design and are bright and clean. We got an upper floor room. The rooms are single-room suites with a floor-to-ceiling wall between the bedroom/bathroom and the sitting area. The sitting area comes with a couch, desk and small kitchen arrangement. There is a single TV shared between both spaces. The room seemed well-kept and functional. There are many hotel choices in the area and it is close to several restaurant choices which made it convenient for our stay for the quality and the price. Overall, the SpringHill Suites in Florence, Georgia, seems to embody the brand's commitment to providing a seamless and enjoyable stay for every guest. read more

I really liked my stay at the springhill suites in Florence! I come out her often for work so having a good hotel to stay at is important. The gym was small but had what I needed. The rooms were large. Slightly outdated microwave in my room which isn't the worst thing. I would also recommend new towels.....very worn texture and uncomfortable. The front desk was also MIA the three times I went up to it. Other than that, it's a great hotel. read more

What didn't go wrong with this place? Construction was going on out front until 7pm (a sign in the elevator indicates it should've been done before 5). Nice view of the workers banging and beeping around all throughout the front parking lot which we didn't even know about prior. Because of this the entrance was closed and everyone had to go around the back to check in down a long hallway of dirty laundry baskets. Got to the desk just to be told our room (booked 6 months ago) was given away and they offered us one bed instead of two that we booked. The staff is also not in uniform, you cannot tell the difference between the guests and workers as they're in pajamas, crop tops, jorts, sandals. After making some calls they act like they do us a service by suddenly opening up the room that we paid for. Whatever. We get in it and there's a giant melted Bluebell ice cream in the mini fridge. Hairs on our towels, bath tub, menstrual blood on the floor. We ask to have our room re cleaned and they are hesitant but agree to clean it. Wait 2 hours and no one's there. Keep calling to get someone to clean our room because it's 10:30pm and we want to shower and sleep. After the 3rd time asking cleaners come in asking what we want and we're like remove the trash and refresh the bathroom please. Wait in the stairwell for 20 minutes and a guest sprints up the stairs threatening to "pop us". Finally we get back in the room blood is gone, new towels, ice cream gone. We take a shower and find little hairs on the shampoo bottles, shower curtain, etc. too tired to care anymore. Even called Marriott help line to figure out what's going on and how to get reimbursed (as Elite members of Marriott) and they tell us the only ones who can do anything is the hotel staff who we are afraid to talk to after hassling them for hours to get a room let alone a clean one. Also got a nice surprise running into the general manager and staff taking a smoke break on our way to our car. I'm appalled at Marriotts complete lack of professionalism as we were treated with 0 customer service and expect so much more from them. read more

The room was not super clean, so I had to go through and wipe down things. The service was exceptional and we were able to check in early, especially with me booking the room at the last minute. I did not use housekeeping or any of the other services. The pool was freezing cold, and it look like a lot of construction in the pool area. However, it is a Good Quickstop some rest your head when visiting family in the south. read more

I don't know what's not to like about this hotel. The mattresses are comfortable, the rooms are impeccably clean and big, and because it has a separate bedroom and living room area, it feels like a deluxe room. Through my God also had a microwave and a refrigerator in addition to a bar sink. So it would be great for a small party of four or five people. The price I paid for it was quite reasonable. Is it the cheapest in town? No but it certainly is worth a small upgrade in cost. The staff is friendly. The breakfast is unfortunately currently not including protein only type items like scrambled eggs or bacon or sausage, but they do have the premade Jimmy Dean type sandwiches (1/2022.) The televisions in the room are big, but you might have to slide your dresser over a little so that the TV can be seen by two people in the bed, because the TV serves both the living room and the bedroom area. read more

Great stay, no issues during my visit! The front desk staff were pleasant and accommodating.

Worse Marriott property I ever stay at ! Dark and gloomy rooms ! Better choices nearby !

We haven't stay for a while because of changing staff and inconsistent values. The prices have gotten higher too.

This hotel is ok overall. The walls are a bit thin so you can hear everything in the hall and next door. The bed is comfortable and there are plenty of places to plug in your devices. The room is large and has a seating area that also acts as a separate trundle bed. Unfortunately the WiFi was not working when we were here so both the internet tv that is on all tvs as well as connectivity was down. There is a pool which is great. The gym has two treadmills and one elliptical as well as one adjustable bench with a set of dumbells up to 50lbs. Not the best gym but at least there is one. Took one star away because of the noise level and one for the WiFi. read more

The best part about this Marriott is the location. It is located at the intersection of 95 and 20B....making it a perfect hotel for one night travelers. Check in went smooth. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. My room was clean and the bed was comfortable. I checked in late and left early so I did not take advantage of most of the hotel amenities. They offer free WiFi, parking and breakfast. I did not have the free breakfast but it looked like the typical free breakfast fare and everyone in the dining area looked content. read more

Do yourself a favor and book elsewhere in the area. There are at least 7 other hotels on this same street. This hotel is very dated. It's old and dingy. Upon arrival to my assigned room, I immediately noticed that the room had an almost mildew type smell. After inspecting the bed (always check the bottom of the sheets, you never want to experience bedbugs!) I also noticed hair in the bed. I immediately returned to the front desk and requested to be moved to another room. The night auditor moved me to a room on the 4th floor, which is also dingy but it didn't have that smell. However, one of the hand towels (pictured) was stained. Could barely sleep throughout the night because it was LOUD! Overall, very displeased with my stay here and will not return. The only reason it got two stars is because I imagine it could be worse if there were say - bedbugs discovered or something. I also appreciate the room having a microwave and fridge. read more

Awful hotel. I don't normally complain enough to write a review, but I have never been more disappointed by a Marriott branded hotel) After 10 hours on the road on Sep 21, 2021, all we wanted was a hot shower and a hot meal. We got the hot meal locally, but no hot or even a warm shower. No hot water in the shower in the first room. Plenty in the sink, but no hot water in the shower. I showered anyway but there was no way my wife was going to take a cold shower. Called the front desk and was told there were no maintenance people available, but she was very nice and offered a room change. We moved to a different room on the same floor and checked the shower. No hot water after letting it run for 15 minutes. Called the front desk and moved to a different floor and she offered 1,000 points for the inconvenience . Again, no hot shower water. Called the front desk and as told there as nothing she could do but offer a refund. By this time it was 10:00pm and we were too tired and decided to just stay and wife would skip the shower. Next morning at breakfast, I asked a few other guests if they had hot water in the shower. Both said no. I get it, things happen. But this is what prompted me to write this review; I went to the front desk to let them know there was still no hot water in the morning and the girl just looked at me like she couldn't care less. She then had a smirk on her face as she told me "you have to turn the handle the right way to get hot water," like I'm some kind of idiot. (I missed elite Platinum status in 2020, but still a Gold Elite Marriott guest so I"m no hotel rookie) I asked if there were any other guest complaints (knowing there were) and she lied to my face and said, "no." Do yourself a favor and DO NOT select this hotel. I won't even get into the filthy, skanky carpet in the elevators and hallways... :( read more

Don't stay here. Horrid experience. Very dated. The TV remote didn't work. Very nice desk person said she would change our room but the TV started up. At midnight I tried to turn the channel, no luck, tried to turn it off, no luck. Very bright and On all night. The air was set at 68 but room was 76. Very loud air conditioner cut on and off every 15 minutes. Groups of cheerleaders, no mask, no social distancing, squeezing into the elevator and cutting in front of the breakfast box line that already had an 45 minute wait. We left after a half hour as did other couples around us and went to McDonald's read more

The only COVID restrictions at this hotel seem to greatly benefit them. Two towels in the room, pool and hot tub closed down, subpar breakfast, but it's no problem to put FOUR strangers at a time in the elevator! Had to stand in line for 20 minutes to get a "coffee" in the morning. (I say "coffee" because it was really just hot water with a brown tinge to it.) And the breakfast attendant can take a bagel out of the package, rewrap and leave it on a table in front of dozens of guests as they file through, she can serve up powdered eggs that taste like an old kitchen sponge and scoop up paste-like oatmeal, but god no they can't toast the old, dry bagel to make it palatable! That would definitely spread COVID! read more

Walked into the room, and walked out. The towels were dirty, the couch was dirty. The room was gross.. I went to the front desk and said I didn't want to stay because of the condition of the room. There were no questions asked on what was wrong - just checked me out. I later called the GM and he said "the room was in fact dirty, and it was an error and oversight on their part". Not good enough - sorry. I wouldn't stay for a second let alone a night. They clearly don't care about hygiene especially with everything going on right now. And have very poor customer service. I'll stick with Hilton brand.. read more

Stopped here after driving 9 hours. The room was not very nice. Then we had an issue with the room. Tried to call down to the front desk the phone didn't work. When I went down stairs they told me they were booked and could not move me to another room. I explained to the clerk at the desk that the toilet was rocking it was not safe. I also suggested that there are two other Marriotts if you are booked maybe send us over there. She said they can't do that. She called someone on her cell whoever she was speaking to - asked how long we were staying- overnight. I will be there in the morning and reimburse them. In the morning I went downstairs to use that bathroom and there was no paper in there at all. I did speak with the Manager - she said it wasn't her that got the phone call. she was apologetic and stated she would reimburse me. (OH! I forgot to say I showed her the video of the rocking toilet.). That took two months after a few calls. Didn't always speak to nice people. The two stars are for the young lady that helped me get a cup of tea after a long ride. read more

This hotel is ok, but it's loud. We could hear kids yelling and running in the halls and above us. We were only here to sleep while traveling. Not enough towels or toiletries for 4 people. It's Paul Mitchell shampoo, no shower gel or lotion. Sheets on pullout bed had holes, but the sheets on the queen bed were nice. Breakfast was free and packed. I would recommend going early. No turkey sausage when we got there. They put out more but they were terrible, taste like the pre cooked kind you heat up. Eggs and sausage gravy was ok, and you could make a breakfast bowl (plate) with spinach but the cheese was gone. Scones were still frozen. But again, this was free and we were able to find enough to eat before we resumed traveling. And I have learned reviews don't make any difference to Marriott hotels anyway, but maybe will help others make a decision. Since we got it on Priceline it was an ok deal for what we needed. read more

My stay here was not the best! I choose this hotel because the pictures looked clean and the prices were decent. How many amazing things can I say about this hotel? Everything was perfect. I only had one small complaint and that was just that they do not offer the "make your own waffle" service on weekdays. Fortunately, an extremely nice hotel worker saw my daughter's sad expression at the realization that there would be no waffles, and she went next door to another hotel and came back with a beautiful waffle just for my daughter. That was beyond the call of duty and so appreciated. I absolutely recommend a stay at this hotel. It is immaculately clean, spacious room, all the amenities a small traveling family needs, nice swimming pool and hot tub, and beyond friendly staff. I will stay at this hotel again. read more

Is it just me or is the I-95 corridor in SC a total wasteland? I'd love to just blast through the state, but my last couple of trips, I've hit a wall and had to grab a hotel room. I can't tell when this hotel was built; it looks newish, but the elevators and rooms are starting to show a little wear. Overall, the price is right, the rooms clean and comfortable, and the staff has been fairly friendly. They also put out a fairly extensive breakfast buffet... it's not even as good as Denny's, but if you're traveling with a family of four, it'll save you forty dollars. If you're traveling by yourself, do as I do, and go spend the four dollars on an egg McMuffin value meal. The fitness center here is decent. Unlike most hotel gyms, all the equipment actually worked. read more

The thing I loved most about this hotel hands down was the breakfast. My son has a gluten allergy and I wasn't sure what we would find come morning. They had a great breakfast buffet and the eating area is also wide open and bright! Breakfast consisted of scrambled eggs with diced ham, turkey sausages, and seasoned diced potatoes, cereals, muffins, breads like banana bread & zucchini bread, fresh fruit, and a waffle maker. The eggs, sausage, & potatoes made it nice for my boy. Another great perk was the outdoor pool!!! It looked clean and I wish I had remembered to bring my kids swim trunks with us! I'm going to remember this for our next stay when we make a trip up north. I don't like indoor pools because the chlorine and chemical levels are insanely high, and normally you can't stand to be in them too long before your eyes feel like they're on fire and you're ready to vomit from breathing it all in. This pool looked fantastic. The only thing that holds me back from giving it 5 stars was the shower, which looked like it may have had some Mold growing in it at one point. You could still see tracks, which makes me cringe a little. Also our pillows were really puffy and almost rounded in shape, probably due to all the washing and drying, so they weren't the most comfortable. But hey- I lived. I would likely choose this place over the Holiday inn Express up the street. Also, a lot of near by amenities! A mall, Chuck E Cheese, Chick-Fil-A, Target, Mellow Mushroom, Home Depot, a nice movie theater, Brewsters ice cream... It's a good place to stop off of 95. read more

Very nice room! Husband booked it so I wasn't sure what to expect. Loved having 2 beds & a pull out couch. My 2 kids don't like to share a bed. Nice to have the toilet/shower separated from sink/mirror. Makes getting ready faster. Will definitely stay here again when in Florence. read more

This review is two fold. We stayed after the COVID-19 restrictions weren't lifted and I feel that should be mentioned. We recently stayed at the Myrtle Beach State Park campgrounds and found ourselves smack dab in the middle of a tropical storm on our 2nd night. Deciding we'd prefer to sleep dry and comfortable than in we soaking wet sleeping bags and tents (yeah...they leaked) we searched the area for a decent hotel. Upon seeing the various reviews we decided that we'd appreciate driving a bit to find one with positive reviews and one that would be more suitable for 2 weary adults and 2 kids. Boy I am so glad I did! Initially, the reviews from months and years past were some what off putting but I decided that they were all generally older and the place may not be the same as before. The price was steeper than what my range was originally but it looked decent and Marriotts are always pretty well known so we booked. Rushing into the lobby from sideways rains my first impression was silence. The lobby itself was so calm and peaceful and it smelled SO CLEAN. The counter was behind a plexiglass partition and the wonderful attendant, Kelly, immediately covered up with a mask and greeted me. She was so kind and polite and explained everything to me regarding the breakfast being modified, the pool closure, and was able to set us up in a room 4 hours before our check in time. I was so excited, I won't lie. She asked how many we had and provided us with extra towels, laundry detergents (we asked), and also information on how to set up the trundle bed and bedding location in room. YES there is a $20 "risk fee" that covers any damages to the room but she explained that it wasn't to be charged until after our stay and ONLY if there was damage. That to me is such a minor deal and is the bank's issue to return; not a big deal. She also informed us that they clean the hotel from one side to the other throughout the day at multiple times and wipe down things frequently so that if we heard vacuums just to know they were keeping cleanliness up to par. The room was AWESOME! The room SMELLED clean yet again and was obviously disinfected properly. Again, so appreciated! We loved how the rooms were little suites and included sitting areas and work desk separated from the bedrooms. The beds are full size which is a squeeze but they also have the phenomenal West End trundle couch that turns into 2 twin sizes for extra space. Unfortunately, you can't buy them anymore. Seriously, they're comfortable! The bedding was clean and warm and the beds were so comforting after our long wet weekend. Small things like charging ports in the lamp by the bed, the curtains closing completely, a recycling bin and trash bin, pump bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash (by Paul Mitchell), and a high pressure shower head made by angels were all what kept our stay so much more than "just" a hotel stay. We were 100% comfortable the entire time and we loved every bit. Yes, breakfast was NOT a buffet but due to COVID, we understand it had to be. They STILL provided a fantastic array of foods for grab and go. I did not catch her name, but the attendant at breakfast was so sweet and a joy to wake up to. She provided us with scones, juice, coffee, fruit, oatmeal, sandwiches, milk, and yogurt and it was plenty to get us up and ready to face the day. The pool was also shut down (again, total understand) but it looked like it would have been great. It's indoor and covered and includes a hot tub so there's a lot to love there. We were able to use the laundry room which was $1 a load to wash or dry and we had no problems with leaving it to go back to the room. It had plenty of space to move around and included hooks for hanging up items and a counter to fold. The washers and dryers were normal household machines and one was a front loading large capacity. We were able to wash a sleeping bag and one dryer easily fit 3 pillows to dry. It will definitely handle your large items! Detergent and dryer sheets are included at the front desk and they're happy to provide change. Overall, it was a 100% outstanding 5/5 stars. Relating to the COVID-19 cleaning standards and distancing, it was an overwhelming 5/5 stars! Things that were included due to the situation: - Pool closed - Surfaces wiped down multiple times during the day - Open areas cleaned throughout the day - Breakfast buffet shut down, but does include a modified grab and go breakfast with shorter hours; 7-8:30 A.M. and spaces area to eat in the dining room I'd you'd like - No more than 4 at a time in the elevators - Every staff member was masked - Plexiglass partition was at the front desk - Rooms cleaned thoroughly and disinfected thoroughly - Workout room available but I assume is cleaned just as much as the other areas read more
