Yelpers, I wanted you to have an updated review, especially considering that the last one was a year ago. Let me start by saying the musical selections were utterly awful. Let me tell y'all that they played the YMCA song, yes you read correctly, I'm still in awe. There were children there as young as maybe 5 years old and not one song was played for their ages. I, including others, felt like hardly any of the songs played were fun to skate to. I'm not sure if their cousin's uncle's best friend's son was the best choice for a DJ but it was awful to say the least. Additionally, very little cultural songs were played making enjoyment even harder. DJ's scan their audience and make sure to appease everyone, but no, not the case here. Even Barney the dinosaur would have been disappointed. The floor was old and scratched up but was better than another rink I visited. The snack section was full of great treats and was actually fairly priced, I loved that! The employees were kind and hardworking. As for the dining area, a bunch more tables are needed to hold at least half of the people that come to skate. Not even half had a place to sit and it was awful. In long (lol), it was a nice place to get away from the mundanity of life, but the music threw my whole experience off. Dear Roller Rink, please google skate music and play music appropriate to ALL of your audiences and do NOT play the YMCA song again, ever. This was my third time at this place for a party and this one was the worst and last time for me!! Let's start with the group fight of the white teenagers right at the front door that ended the night. I'm unsure why this place is voted #1 skatepark around when Cantons skate rink is clearly the better option hands down! It's dark and extremely outdated and dusty literally dust trails hanging from the ceilings over the whole party tables area. It usually always smells of the worst aroma possible, this day the smell wasn't present shockingly! I had my kids party here this past weekend 5/16/25 costing me a total of $300 with no amenities except unlimited drinks that took 30 minutes to get filled and we never got refills after that 1 fill. I booked a double party package because they only offer you 10 kids with no added amenities except the cheapest plates and cups they could find at the local dollar tree for a total of $150 per package. NO FOOD treats or anything else offered with it. We arrived right as they were opening for the night and once inside there was an elder lady and a middle aged lady both with glasses checking everyone in. The middle aged woman with the glasses and smart remarks asked the name of our party and the elder lady says right after her OH you made it in on time. I said yes, I paid to be here of course! The other woman then ask the names of those with me. I told her I have the list of ALL my rsvp to make it easy on everybody as there was a lot of us coming. We proceeded to set up our tables while doing so I get a call from a rsvp stating there name isn't on the list and they wouldn't let them in. I go to the front point out the names clearly written down and ask what's the issue the middle aged woman proceeds to get mad a says OH there isn't an issue. I said well you said their names aren't there and they clearly are. Very snarky she said there isn't an issue. I go back to the tables and let's just make it short to say SHE DID IT AGAIN! And again and with ever person on my list she made it an issue to where I had to go to the counter every single time and make sure all the kids got in. The last time I went up for the last group of kids who had the same issue she had the look of (why are you up here again) and magically she could read the last groups names. The officer then says mom you don't need to be up here and I said apparently I do since nobody's name I have can get in. She then again with her attitude says well I mean you did have 3 people who weren't on the list. I said but have I used all my slots yet she said No you still have 4 but those 3 weren't on the list. I said OK does that make it an issue?! I haven't went over on my count yet so I don't owe you anymore money still so why is that even being mentioned. Then the security guard chimes in while we're talking to put his unnecessary 1 cent in and I told him I was talking to this woman I didn't need anything from him! To add to it all the people who weren't on my list and didn't even mention the party name were charged full price with bringing their own skates! There were 3 people who where charged full price $15 which is if you NEED skates. And the sign and thrown together website all states it's $10 with your own skates. My cousin who realized that asked the same woman as we were leaving why was she charged full price when she didn't even mention the party while paying. The middle aged woman lied and then straight to her face said well you were apart of the party weren't you?! Not knowing that until seeing her leaving with us. She says well you did get unlimited drinks and whatever else right? she asked! AS IF anything else came with those get over packages! That I didn't pay for myself and for such a ran down deprived service of a rink with hateful antics towards the black parties who paid to be there that night expecting to much receive better attitudes and treatment as none of us felt we did! read more

The roller rink staff show favoritism based on race. I brought my grandchildren to the rink and was not permitted to rent more than one skate trainer for them. My daughter and I were literally following parents to the counter when they were returning their trainers in which we kept being told they've already been rented. How that is possible is beyond me and if there is some type of hold system on the skate trainers once they are returned, you would think the staff would tell us about it since we've went up to the counter numerous times trying to rent one? Also, I can't help but notice that the patrons that the trainers are already rented to are caucasian and my daughter and I are African American. All of the staff are Caucasian and 90% of the patrons are Caucasian as well due to the establishment's location. I will not be returning. read more

This establishment does not abide by state regulations as far as mask mandating. When confronting some male who claimed to be the owner/manager he stated they "don't police the situation"! This establishment has been an on going issue as far as cleanliness, inappropriate behavior with teens, staff not wearing masks etc. read more

This place has good pricing but the rink is really dangerous because of the holes. I've gone twice but don't plan to return just because I felt unsafe. read more

Great place to have a birthday party But bathrooms need severely updated to the point that it makes it not worth going.

A bizarre roller rink that reeks of stagnant water and urine. That's my headline. If it wasn't for the statewide smoking ban, this place would still have a cloud of smoke pouring out with every opening of the door. Bingo nights will always go down in my memories as a time to watch the Grim Reaper count down the clock with every stamp of a bingo marker. Sure, this place has an old disco floor in the rear, complete with flashing tiles, but this grungy place isn't truly suited for the local youth. Like many places in Springfield Twp., including the schools, this was built in the 70s and will never see an update, as long as no tornado strikes it from this earth. Playland Roller Rink was far superior, but alas, all good things must come to an end. Even the video game selection at Springfield Lake Roller RInk is awful. I was there for a 'family fun night' for the elementary school I attended a while ago. I hadn't been rollerskating there since I was very small. When arriving everyone was told they couldn't enter until the principle and leading adult showed up. I understand this, but the man was simply too rude and I didn't like it. After arriving inside and getting my skates, I began skating. The floor looked wore and it felt worn, it has probably never been updated since the rink's opening in the 70s or 80s. The DJ was also in a mood. I don't understand why, he only had to work for two hours that night. After skating for a bit I realized I needed to use the restroom. I only bring this up because the bathrooms were BEYOND ATROCIOUS. My stall door didn't latch (neither did any other stall door). This meaning there wasn't even a latch. It was a chain with a hook on the end. The toilets were dirty and there wasn't soap so I could wash my hands. My skating experience was nice, but after using the restroom I felt dirty. I'm sure the vibe is different on a weekend night, but I almost don't want to go and find out. read more

I just moved to the area a year ago and started going to Adult Nite until they cancelled it. When you ask if they will open up another adult session they get VERY irritated and rude. Apparently we adults don't buy at the concession stand and most have their own skates. The floor definitely needs to be re-varnished, as there are dings and divots and missing finish on the floor, not to mention the poles and whatever the extension at the back end is. My skates always end up filthy and when there's a regular skate session, the staff just hotdog around for the most part. read more

Fun for kids, families, and anyone looking for a great time! The first time I ever went to Springfield Lake Roller Rink was when I was in preschool and I have now graduated college... I have to say this place still has it's charm. I just went last night and was surprised to recognize some of the same workers that I remember from my childhood! I was surprised to see how busy they still got on the weekends, but I was pleased with the way they were still able to keep all the kids engaged in the fun! All in all my experience was excellent and I will probably go back again! read more

Yes it could use some updates but it is one of the few roller skating rinks left in the area and has a family friendly atmosphere. Price is reasonable and the "dated" feel makes it somewhat nostalgic. read more

Nah you all have it wrong, updated may 8th of 2021 this place has staff members who are in secret relationships with each other and a few are underaged, I mean I'm talking an age gap from a 16 yr old girl and the dude who works there who's like 35 and this little girls fine with it, they will be on the job and instead of watching the kids they flirt and act weird in front of the little kids. I'm young enough to get hip with everyone there and really find out how this establishment works, no state regulation on masks, young teens and kids of today's generation go crazy there so if your kid isn't good with handling themselves and get bullied then don't bring them here, holes all over the rink, dirty filthy trashed and nasty on most days, big event days or parties the only time they clean, ill still skate there, closest rink in my area to I have to, but I won't support the uncleanliness and the creepy illegal secret relationships they have there, it's all wrong, basically family ran so if you have an issue with someone on staff, nobody there'll back you up in a situation, can sometimes be a hostile environment as well. read more

This is a lovely place for white families. This place couldn't hide their racism or prejudice. Any song that features African American artist was played at a very low volume compared to the other country, pop or any other music played that attracted the Caucasian crowd. We were told that it would cost $10 to skate. What we weren't told is that it was $2 cheaper for those that were not of color. A white friend of mine who attended the same party as me and ironically wore the same size shoe as me, wanted to skate, as did I. She eventually found me with a pair of skates on her feet and told me it was $8. I went to the man disbursing the skates and asked how much it would be for me to skate, he said that he wasn't sure because the price could be based on the party your attending and some other things. He directed me to the same lady that checked all the partygoers in. I asked her how much would it be for me to skate, she told me $10. I asked her if that was the price for the size and the party I'm with? And she was so sure that it was. I didn't skate because it was in the fine print that there's a $2 for black skaters.
