After given the tour (great tub by the way), we were asked if we needed any refreshments or snacks. We then sat in woe as he opens the window in order to make it a comfortable temperature. How nice! One star is too much for this place…read more I applied for a position with this college, and they took forever to arrange an interview. Finally one employee called me in confidence, and told me that I had the qualification to be a great success with the school. The place loves Secrecy...and everything has to be held in confience. When I had questions about the process, or wanted an update, I was ghosted. Finally, after the entire hiring process was complete, the Manager contacted me and wanted to set up a meeting, still no answer. Two days later I received a "No Thank You Letter." At one point, in recent history an employee received a large payout because she was able to make the case that she had been discriminated against. I belive because of this, the place is super nervous about hiring staff. The entire process took 4 months, they were very concerned about email messages and about keeping everything very opaque. I was not signing up to join the CIA, just work at a Community College. Because of the way that I had been treated, I would never consider applying for another position at STCC. If a friend or relative asked me, I would tell them the same...the place is very uptight, and they don't hesitate to waste your time.

You will find trails around the whole place, namely one that starts off on George Frost Drive which brings you to a bunch of rusty fire towers. Bring bug repellent! If you are not up for a nature hike, but would like to go for a walk without any hills to walk up head over to the track by the main entrance. If you are an alumni or currently attending HCC the gym is free for you, but if you have no association to HCC it will cost you five dollars (last I checked). I must say I was really pleased with the professors, because they always were there to help. A great thing about a small college is the individual attention you receive when you have trouble with a subject. I wasn't too pleased with all the guidance counselor that I encountered. I was really looking for advice once, and they basically were rushing me out of the office; not cool.

I was enrolled in transition to college and careers and that was a " Joke " the instructor I had was condensing and discriminated against me and my disability and the person who is in charge reported me because of my disability. HCC is a horrible community college. They refuse to send my transcript to stcc now I have to start the process over again when I was set to start this fall . If I had enough money I would sue for discrimination. STCC and Westfield State care about students with disabilities Hcc doesn't. Don't waste your time or money .
