Everything was nice and clean, the staff were welcoming and our room was warm and comfy, it was 19* when we checked in. Jalapeño Mexican restaurant is just across the parking lot which was an AMAZING dinner. The facility has a pool, laundry, gym and breakfast for your pleasure. There were slight hwy sounds as this location sits next to hwy 80 and our room was on the back side. Perhaps the rooms facing the parking lot are a bit quieter but all in all the hwy sounds were not that bad. Nice hot shower with great water pressure, nice big tv in our room with comfy beds, pillows and linen. Nothing like being a Hilton member.

For the sake of time don't expect 5 star hotel accommodations for $60. That being said, the reviews…read morehave been harsh. I've traveled across the country many times and I've seen bad rooms. This is a typical mom and pop motel.. you get a clean bed and shower. The room got very hot so don't put the heat on high... there are no fans to circulate the air. The other bad thing were the pillows.... The GOOD stuff.. the staff was delightful and helpful. The room was a smoking room which is hard to find these days.. and they accepted our dog for an additional $11!! That's so nice considering other places charge $25 fee and deposits... for a 6lb chihuahua. Over all I would stay again and have no issues. I looked for some things that were stated in other reviews but couldn't find evidence of any bed bugs or bugs in that matter. I recommend this place for a quiet and peaceful night.

The staff were really friendly and exceptional at making us feel welcome. Breakfast was also pretty decent with Sausage and egg croissants, egg and cheese burritos, waffles with some toppings, yogurt, oatmeal, cereal, fruit, toast, muffins, juice. Honestly one of the better breakfasts I've had at this type of hotel. The rooms themselves were A-ok. They definitely could do with an update, paint on the walls cracking, musty smell, tub dripping. But they did also come with a coffee maker with coffee and tea, microwave, and fridge, which was convenient. The bed and pillows were also very comfy! They kindly gave us a room near the back of the hotel near the rear entrance, which was very convenient since we had a dog with us. Unfortunately the door did not have a pressure gauge and slammed any time someone went through the door. The first night was a little rough waking us up every time the door slammed. But the second night wasn't as bad. But I'll end on a good note, location was very convenient, lots of fast food options nearby if that's your thing. We chose it as it was dog-friendly and not too far from Starved Rock and the areas around it. Everything we needed to reach was within 10-20 minutes which was great! And again front desk staff and management was so great and friendly!
