During the in-store pickup, I also bought three additional devices: two watches and another phone. One phone and one watch were shipped to my daughter, who attends school in Virginia. Shortly afterward, I learned about a promotional offer for an iPad, available within 30 days of purchase. I attempted to order the iPad online to be shipped to my daughter at her university. Unfortunately, I couldn't complete the purchase, so my daughter placed the order herself online. Despite our efforts, the device never arrived after a week. Then, I was asked to upload my ID and a selfie for verification, which I promptly did. However, just hours later, all services for both phones and the watches were turned off--without any prior warning or explanation. When I called Verizon's 611 for help, I was redirected to the fraud department. When transferred, I couldn't proceed because my service was disabled. After waiting over an hour for a fraud representative, I finally reached an agent, provided all my verifiable information, and minutes later, the call was disconnected. No one called back, emailed, or provided any updates. In a desperate attempt to resolve the issue, I added my older child to the account so they could speak on my behalf. Despite this, 12 hours later, I remain without service, as does my daughter in Virginia, leaving her disconnected from home and vulnerable. This is unacceptable customer service. I have to drive 13 miles to the store just to plead for help. I can't contact Verizon directly due to the lack of service on my phone, which I rely on for work after hours. The inability to reach the fraud department except by calling is highly problematic. I am a brand new customer experiencing a nightmare start with Verizon, and I am seeking proper assistance and compensation for this unnecessary hardship. My cell number is 347-628-3701. The low level customer service and the way the company bilks customers is astounding. They claim to be giving you a five (5) year price lock. In my case, two months later they change the name of your promotion to Promotion for Life. They say that this means that only the taxes can go up if they do, but not the price for the service in my case, $40.00 with $5.66 in taxes for a total of $45.66. Do not be fooled. All their promotions, regardless of names, can be renamed and repriced at any time. They actively promote Autobilling, which means they take the money directly out of your bank account each month. It is not worth getting a $5 reduction to have these crooks get access to your bank account. Once you provide them with your bank account number, they can help themselves to any amount. Prices with Astound change at the drop of a hat. They do this by claiming that your plan's name was changed. What this means is that they hiked the price. Am actively going to see if I can find a better deal elsewhere. These people are nasty and only interested in bilking customers. These are seasoned scam artists.

Bought a phone from Simplified on Backmarket. It was supposed to be guaranteed refurbished and…read morefully functional. It clearly wasn't even inspected. The camera is mechanically defective. I've attempted to a resolution with Backmarket or Simplified that doesn't put me, the paying customer, out of more money or a phone. Unfortunately, they're unwilling to do so. I've also tried calling Simplified directly multiple times. No answer. The same phone number listed for this business is from another permanently closed wireless dealer nearby. Shady. Avoid Simplified Wireless and Backmarket.
