As Covid has had a significant impact on the travel industry, it still leaves no excuse for a failure in Marriott's quality and standards. Being fully aware that each property is owned and operated by separate entities, I feel it's Marriott's responsibility to inspect what's expected. - Checked into room 102 w/ a King + Sofa Sleeper. Sofa Sleeper seemed to not have been clean as there were pubic hairs found on the sheets. The front desk was kind enough to provide new sheets, which we had to apply. - Next day asked to be moved to a Double, which we were offered Room 120. When arriving later in the day, found out 120 had been offered to someone else, therefore, were moved upstairs to 208 - Room 208 had windows where the seals were cracked (clouded and couldn't see out), tape all over the walls which had yet to be cleaned up from a possible party, dirty refrigerator, no toiletry items, mismatched lightbulbs (daylight mixed w/ soft white), missing lightbulbs, bathroom towel rack which was rigged, vanity towel rack which was falling off, shower did not work well and pubic hairs in the shower - Was advised there would be no housekeeping unless staying for 8 nights or more. With my status, a Monday cleaning was promised, however, after getting back from a 5hr roundtrip drive attending a funeral, came back to a filthy room. - When room was finally serviced, no toiletries were added, the vanity mirror was not cleaned and it was evident the room was not vacuumed. - Found a significant amount of water damage in the stairwells I'm unsure what exactly can be done, but my family and I are extremely disappointed. And most importantly, it seems attention to detail, upgrades, etc happen to change drastically between a points stay and a full revenue stay. This is not OK! read more

Spring Hill suites is a beautiful spacious hotel located in Burr Ridge, IL. The rooms are pretty spacious and the beds are VERY, VERY comfortable. I think I've had some of the best sleep I've had in a while in their beds. So if you're not trying to fall asleep, don't lay in the bed because you may just fall asleep. The rooms are modern looking which I appreciate, I don't like rooms that look like all other hotel rooms so this is a plus. I probably would have given them 3 stars if it wasn't for the bed... I think they can do better with the breakfast. It's not that great. Could be much better, and they could defintely offer more vegetarian friendly options. They usually have oatmeal, eggs, cereal, sausages, bagels, the option to make your own waffles and a drink machine. The drink machine has orange juice, cranberry juice and apple juice. They also have yougurt, and croissants. The eggs taste like powdered eggs, they aren't very good but I guess you can't really complain too much about free breakfast. I can't remember personally everything they have but I named everything I could remember. This is a great place to try at least once or twice. read more

I had a great stay at the spring hill suites. The staff at the front desk was very friendly at check in. The hotel offers complimentary shuttle to several stores. They dropped me off and picked me up at Target so I was able to get some needed items and snacks. The room was nice with a refrigerator and microwave. The bed was comfortable and I was able to set the temperature to the temp of my liking. If I am being picky, I like hotels with magnifying small mirrors for putting on my makeup. This hotel did not have one. Also, I asked for a 545 am wake up call but received a 445 wake up call. Nobody wants to wake up an hour early. read more

This a 3 star hotel. Beds are uncomfortable. The blanket on the bed had stains. Free breakfast, but one person working there pushed garbage down and then went to handle food. OJ was crusted on the tray below for Sat and Sun morning. I pointed it out, did not see her clean it. The pool has chemicals that will destroy your swim clothes. The bathroom has a huge door but almost no where to stand and not hit your toes with door. Check out is 12, but key card turned off at 10. They can make some changes very easily. Make sue you shower after swimming and have lotion, the water is not good for your skin. read more

Great little hotel in the middle of Burr Ridge. Parking is plentiful in the nice large lot out front. In the winter it's super slippery on the pavement though. Staff are very friendly. No problems there. The rooms are average/mediocre. Very dated interiors. My room had a microwave and fridge. One thing I never understand is why they often put the sink outside the bathroom area. And then the bathroom is super tiny, where you can barely open or close the door. The room is clean though. Complimentary continental breakfast is available every morning, and Wi-Fi is free. if you're in the neck of the woods, it's a decent choice, but there are also other hotels at the same highway interchange. With that said, pricing here is pretty reasonable, so the value is there. read more

Top Notch Customer Service and Great Location!!! My family and I had the pleasure of staying at the SpringHill Suites by Marriott when we were in town for my cousin's wedding. Here is the list of why I really enjoyed my stay: 1. The room was very spacious with lots of in room perks: hair dryer, microwave, mini fridge, pull out sofa bed, Paul Mitchell hair care products, coffee maker with Free coffee, Wi-Fi and iron with ironing board. 2. FREE coffee 247 located in the lobby. 3. Did I mention the complimentary Paul Mitchell hair care products??!! 4. There was a complimentary shuttle service to and from my cousin's wedding reception and you know what that means....we were able to get our drink on!! 5. Top notch customer service: the front desk clerks were always friendly which made checking in and checking out a breeze, housekeeping knocked on our door 30ish minutes after we arrived in our room to make sure we were happy with everything, and the staff in the breakfast area were always pleasant and kept everything stocked. Overall, the staff was amazing. 100% 6. Staff made us truly feel welcomed. 7. Plenty of complimentary on-site parking. Parking lot is well lit so we always felt safe going to our vehicle. 8. If you're 62 years or older, you can save at least 15% on your room rate! 9. Conveniently located to major highways for easy access to local attractions. Right on I-55 at I-294. Great location! 10. Where to begin? First room i was put in smelled like major cigarette smoke. I was put in the room next to that one. Double bed. One of the beds has someone else's hair on it, as well as a bugger stuck on the pillow case. I let that go too once they changed the sheets. But the fact that i ended up getting some serious bed bites once i woke up pretty much spoke volumes about how disgusting and not very clean this place is. Manager refunded my 10 day stay ( after staying 1 night ) and paying in full, i would not recommend this hotel to my worst enemy. read more

Of all the hotel chains that I've used over the years I find the Marriott brand to be one of my preferred. I'd never stayed at Springhill Suite before but this is one of the more budget friendly hotels that the company was willing to pay for. Smack in the middle of the Chicago suburb of Burr Ridge (they refer to it as a village). The staff is really nice although I chuckled when they asked if I wanted a room near the elevator (light sleeper here). All guests get free Wifi and complimentary breakfast. The rooms are very spacious and clean. I was surprised to find not only a fridge in the room, but a microwave and a little sink to wash things. The bed was nice and comfy (king) with lots of pillows. I love sleeping with lots of pillows so that was nice to have 4 at my disposal. There was also a nice sitting area (desk and chair although no plugs for your laptop) with the TV straddled between that space and the bed room. A couple of things I did not like: - No food offerings in the evening besides the little snack area where you have to purchase items. Most restaurants in this area close at 9pm so if you happen to get in late, you're SOL trying to get a real meal. I think in addition to breakfast they could have some kind of dinner and/or snack. There are lots of chairs and tables in the lobby for breakfast, why not use it for other meals. Even if I had to pay its nice to have that option. - The walls are super thin. Me being a light sleeper it was a pain to hear my next door neighbors (above and next to me) conversations. Even as patrons walked down the hallway I could hear every step. Not sure when they plan to remodel, but sound proofing the rooms would be nice - A lot of the hotels I scouted prior to choosing this one offered free shuttles to and from the airports, however they wanted to charge $55! Yikes, a cab was much cheaper! Overall, it was an enjoyable stay but if I visit Chicago again I'd stay closer to the city. read more

Stayed here this past weekend for a hockey tournament. Due to Covid 19 they are not currently doing daily room cleaning. I get that but then stock the room with what your guests will need for their entire stay (in this case 4 days). 1 bar of soap that I guess they expect you to use between the shower and the sink to wash your hands for both of us. When we got in the room and took the cushions off to open the sofa bed I had to get the cleaning lady in the hallways because there was crushed fruit loops inside the couch. When she came in the room with an attitude she didn't even bother to get off her ear piece on a cell call she was having in another language. Now don't you think there would be a thorough cleaning once someone checked out since it was cleaned the entire time of the previous guests stay, I guess not. Then during the stay the toilet paper ran out. So I call the front desk. I get told that someone is probably on the floor and I can go ask or we can come down to the desk to pick some up. Hmmmm you can't drop it off at the room. So I had to search for the person cleaning the rooms in the hallway to get some. We also passed a front desk attendant helping a customer wearing her mask as a chin strap. I would expect all employees to follow the same policy your guests are expected to follow. Oddly there very little refreshments to purchase as well. They had plenty of beer but very little non-alcoholic drinks and absolutely no snacks. Thought it might be a Covid thing but couldn't be because then there would be nothing. The area is nice and it's a good location as far as restaurants and shopping but the customer service was awful at this location. read more

Very nice room and staff. Great location for us and lovely decor. Nice assortment in the complimentary breakfast and coffee all day in the lobby is an awesome bonus. I would have given 5 stars had the elevator (one of two) not been broken down three out of three days. Our lovely room was on the 6th floor, however, the seal in the windows was broken, consequently obstructing any view of the outside. Finally, we went to the pool. Everything was very tidy, but the pool itself is in a serious state of disrepair. It needs to be drained and patched. Even with these criticisms, I would stay at this property again. read more

Coming in at 1:30 am we learned every room in the area was full - how, our amazing front desk concierge called around for us, even checking into the next town! Sabrina was a gem to our tired bodies, eventually personally checking whether a room was actually clean and just not marked in her computer- it was clean! Every business can have one amazing employee, but the following morning Vivian helped us with check out and we were treated to a wonderful breakfast. This is my second stay here. Everyone at the front desk has been pleasant and friendly. Rooms are spacious. Beds seem newish and comfortable. Breakfast is just what I expected. I grab a yogurt, banana and run. WiFi works great, even in the farthest rooms. All is clean, what more could you ask for? Refrig and microwave? Yep. Large desk and eating area in this room. Nice. I'd give it 5 stars if breakfast was over the top or they had a light snack in the evening or offered something to drink besides coffee. OR even if the indoor pool was heated better. It doesn't feel heated at all, just indoors and deserted (probably because it's too cold). A hot tub work be mice too. Fitness room looks like any other fitness room. Yes definitely not 5 stars, now I'm thinking maybe I should give it 3 stars but i will be staying here every time work brings me to this area. Great quality and value. I tend not to stay in hotels which are not 'full service' but there are times that this is the type of hotel I find myself staying at and I'm really pleased with this hotel brand. This is the second Springhill Suites at which I have stayed. We stayed at the hotel over the weekend with a large group for a wedding. I would strongly recommend this hotel for that sort of arrangement. The rooms are large enough to accommodate a small family. When you have adjoining rooms, you have an extraordinary amount of room to spread out. The hotel staff was just fantastic. They were very accommodating and polite and helpful. The air conditioner in my room sounded like a freight train. I could not talk on phone while it was running it was so loud. Then to beat it all I was given a handicap room when I did not request one. I'm sleeping on an uncomfortable sofa bed tonight even though I specifically reserved a room with 2 double beds. They simply sold my room out from under me. No explaination and they actually gave me attitude when I complained. I'm never coming here again. What's the purpose of making a specific reservation if they don't honor it. I even had the confirmation email that they sent me 4 days before my trip that confirmed that it was supposed to be two double beds. Worst service ever, and the hotel seems to be packed with a bus load of loud hockey players to boot! I was supposed to stay here three nights but am canceling tomorrow and will find another place. The accomodations are fine for a moderate hotel, and on my previous stay the service was fine. On my most recent stay, however, I was extremely disappointed. I am not a complainer, but the front desk staff was terrible. I stayed for four nights, and it seemed that whenever I went to the front desk there was no one in sight, and other guests were also waiting for help. I wish I would have seen these reviews a few months ago. This was by far the worst vendor we worked with for our wedding and we only got a block of rooms with them. I got their name at the recommendation of our the banquet hall for our wedding and they were initially the most responsive hotel we contacted. Seemingly, it worked out very well... until about a month or so before the wedding. We had a delay with our invitations, so people didn't know about the hotel until just before the booking deadline. I contacted the hotel and they extended the date without a problem. Then, I began receiving e-mails from the sales manager saying that no one was booking rooms and I needed to contact my guests to get them to book. I was very put off by her attitude, but still was not that irritated. Then, a friend of mine was booking online and was offered a lower rate than our block. We were told we were getting a rate of $119 instead of the regular rate of $159. The one he found was $104. So, I e-mailed my contact and she said that the $104 was the "non-refundable rate" and that's it. A week or so later she sends me a list of people in the block and several people I know got rooms are not on it. Then she tells me that people can only be part of the block if they book the $119 rate and she will not count the other guests towards our 10 room goal to get the shuttle for free. She also informed me that the people not in the block would not be allowed to ride the shuttle, even if my husband and I paid for it! She also said they would maybe charge the non-block people to ride it as well! In addition to this nonsense, several people told me they called to book rooms and were told the block was full (LIES!). This was the exact opposite of what the sales manager told me. She said as long as there were empty rooms, people can be added. I had to let all of my guests know to go through this long process in order to book a room. Then, the sales manager had me send her my entire guest list for her to cross check and see if she could add any more people to the block, as a favor to me (how nice). At this point, my dad stopped by to try and reason with her. He accidentally ended up at the other Marriott in Burr Ridge and told them what was happening and they were astounded by it. Once he met with the sales manager, he mentioned that he is a very active member of the community and serves on several boards and will be informing them of the negative experience he has had at SpringHill. Instead of trying to work out an arrangement or use good customer service skills, the sales manager answered him by saying she felt threatened. My dad is a very diplomatic, professional and reasonable man that I know would not try to intimidate or bully someone. All we got out of this meeting was that people wouldn't be charged to ride the shuttle and they would offer 2 (instead of 3) free rides if we didn't hit the room minimum. Here's where it gets good... the night of, people were able to get to the banquet hall without any problem. No one was charged and it ran smoothly. The way home was a different story. We were supposed to have 3 shuttles back- 1 early & 2 late. The 2nd to last shuttle arrived and waited for a while to fill up and left a few minutes before the last one was supposed to arrive. Well, the last one never came. So I had more than a few inebriated guests stranded at the banquet hall. Multiple people were calling the hotel and unable to get a hold of anyone. My parents were able to drive my husband and I to the hotel to figure out what was going on. We talk to the man at the front desk and ask him where the shuttle driver is and can he send him back to pick up more people. We were sure what happened at that point and were willing to pay to get another ride. He looks at us blankly and said he can't because he "doesn't speak Spanish" and therefore can't talk to the driver!!!!!!!! We ended up getting our room comp'd because of this, but that is inexcusable. The facilities were clean and nice enough. The breakfast was definitely sub-par: rubbery eggs, minimal fruit, and very little for my gluten free self to eat. I apologize for the long review, but I feel like this is important for future brides to know. Do not book a room block with them. I would have had almost a stress free wedding and much lower blood pressure if it weren't for them. read more

I was there yesterday to get ready for my best friend's wedding. The facility is very clean & the room was larger than I had expected. The only downfall of the time spent there was that the ring bearer leaned against an end table & his suit had gotten a gross brown stain from the wood stain that was not completely dried. Then this morning they have people outside with pressure washers scraping our window and screaming at each other. This started at 8am. On the week of our family's wedding, they also booked two sport teams which took up 96% of the hotel. So every night would be noisy and we couldn't transfer any rooms. What they don't tell you is that the back of the hotel faces a warehouse that has trucks backing in and out all night long and the freeway is there too. They have very poor planning, insulation between the walls and you can here your neighbors easily. The rooms are very small despite they are "suites". The beds are TINY, and are spaces 2" apart! The living room is bonus and the tiny microwave and a mini fridge. The bathroom is in the bedroom and the sinks are outside. Therefore making the room very compact. The doors are very heavy and loud same with the elevator. read more

We booked our wedding block of hotel rooms at this hotel. Originally when we worked with Sheila, we thought we were in good hands. Then once she left I started getting calls from my wedding guests. No less than 10 of my guests had issues booking a room in our block. Some just tried to book the night of the wedding and we're told either there were no more rooms available at the hotel or there were no blocks of rooms with our event name. Others tried to book multiple nights and were told there were no more rooms. We still had some guaranteed to us according to my latest email from the hotel, so I don't understand this at all. It got so bad that some of my relatives had to stay at other nearby hotels because they were told there were no more rooms at our hotel. Also, for those that tried to book at our hotel by staying on hold for an hour, the hotel tried to charge them $70 more than what we had agreed for our wedding block in the contract! Even though they booked before the cutoff date. And last but not least they could not guarantee me the ability to check out 1 hr later just to take pics of the girls getting ready in the hotel room. How can someone planning a wedding prepare for this or have a backup plan? The only good thing about this hotel was that the rooms were clean and nice. The staff was horrible to us and really they proved to be the worst vendors we used for our wedding. Update: Only when we checked our credit card statement did we realize this hotel tried to cheat us on top of everything else! Our contract clearly stated that if we booked 20 rooms, our wedding night hotel room for me and my husband would be free. We even got a receipt the morning after saying it was a $0 charge. When we looked at my husband's credit card, they had charged us for the wedding night hotel room! When I called to have them correct this mistake, they tried to argue with me saying that we didn't have all 20 rooms. I had multiple emails from them stating otherwise. They eventually reversed the charge after much arguing and frustration. I can't help but wonder if they would have reversed the charges if we had never noticed it on the credit card statement! read more

There was a lot of highway noise, the window seals were broken making it nearly impossible to see out of the window, the pool was closed, and there was not enough seating for breakfast. Bring earplugs or the in-room heat/air unit will keep you up. Get to the breakfast area early or you get nothing. They stop putting out food about 45 minutes before service is complete. My kids got a continental breakfast of a plain English muffin. They had run out of waffles, yogurt, fruit, eggs, juice, milk and coffee. My Fiance and I decided on Springhill suites to host ourselves, and our guests, for our wedding this past weekend. (Memorial Day Weekend) We had alot of guests traveling in from out of town and wanted a nice hotel with good amenities and a good location. Springhill Suites fit the bill and then some. All of our guests commended us on our choice for the hotel with the ample space in the rooms and the nice amenities that were available. We were one of 3(?) wedding parties at that hotel, along with another traveling group, and not one person had any issues or faults with the hotel. The staff were more than accommodating and if anyone has been through a wedding before, things hardly ever go perfect, though ours did thankfully, and the staff, and hotel, were a large part of that. I would highly recommend for anyone. My Fiance and I would like to personally thank Springhill suites, and the staff, for all of their hard-work and for helping in making our stay so special, for both us and our guests. read more

We used SpringHill Suites for our wedding hotel block in August. We did not have our reception here, but used the shuttle service to provide transportation for our guests. The shuttles worked out very well. I was told the 5:30 pm shuttle ran behind and the guests had to ask about it, but the transportation after the reception worked out perfectly and the shuttles were large enough to squeeze a lot of bodies in. They also offer a free continental breakfast which was very crowded, but I think a nice perk for our guests and another main reason we chose this hotel. I did have a few problems though with management that made me feel rather scammed in the end. Like, if we hit 10 rooms in the wedding block, our room was supposed to be a free upgrade to the executive suite. This didn't happen. Our bridal room was on the first floor and faced glaring lights from the parking lot all night. There were 2 other weddings there that night as well and I could hear people partying all night and it woke me up at 3 am (though they could very well have been our own guests). If we had booked 20 rooms, our room would have been complimentary. We didn't hit 20 rooms, BUT we had 2 guests tell us that they tried to book and were told the block was full. When I asked about this, she just blew it off and said that the block wasn't full... okay? We only ended up "filling" 15 rooms when I know we had at least 17 and who knows if anyone else wasn't on the block? Oh well, the shuttles were free so the cost of the room paid for the shuttles, I figure. We were also told that our room would have champagne and chocolates as part of the bridal package. While I know that this is just a cheap gimmick, I was kinda bummed that when I got into the room, there was no champagne. Just a few chocolates, Gatorade and cheese-its.... how romantic.. ha! I wasn't about to call and ask about it then, it's my wedding night! I just made a note the next morning to ask at the front desk for it before we left. Well, I did and we were hassled about it! We were told it should have been in the room, but I definitely checked the room and the fridge and there was none. I didn't even want the champagne at this point because we had a flight to catch, but if they were going to accuse me of finagling a 2nd bottle or whatever they thought I was trying to pull I wasn't having it. Finally a manager came and signed off on our approval to get the champagne. Gee, thanks! I took it home and just left it at my parent's house. So, the problems we had with SpringHill weren't really visible to our guests which I am thankful of. We did have some compliments on how well the shuttles worked out, however, just keep in mind that SpringHill Suites means "value", not service. read more

WORST HOTEL EVER !!! We usually love all the SpringHill Suites we have visited in the past few years, but this one was awful. The front desk staff was grumpy, and acted annoyed at any questions. We traveled with our sports team, and of course the kids wanted to congregate together, even if they are playing on hand held devices next to each other. Hotel staff would have none of this. Just exactly where do you expect them to go?? The only thing I ever ate at the breakfast was a tiny yogurt. Other food just looked not good at all. read more

Bad Experience. Hotel staff not adequately in customer service, conflict resolution and just plain hospitality We stayed here for a hockey tournament in May. The tone of what was to come began a few days prior to our arrival when the hotel sent us a letter stating that they would not tolerate any rowdy behavior from our 9-13 year old hockey players. Our team manager instructed our entire team to leave all of the boy's knee hockey apparatus at home, which we did. When we first arrived we received a friendly greeting from the only person who treated us decently during our entire stay. It was all downhill from there. Throughout the weekend our team manager was harassed by the staff and the manager. Accusing our group of activities that we did not do. At one point the manager threatened to take away a suite from a family of 6 in our group because of the complaining of a guest whose reservation was not received by the hotel that belonged to another group. Our manager had to point out that this guest did not belong to our group and therefore our group should not be punished. The hotel made no attempt to separate the groups that were staying at the hotel from private parties. In fact they located some private guest on the first floor on the way to the pool and other guest in the midst of the hockey teams. This to me shows no consideration for either the groups or the private parties and is a lose/lose situation for everyone. As a group we booked over 50 rooms in the hotel. When we congregated in the lobby to socialize the front desk became very agitated and flicked the lights on and off as if we were in elementary school. Mind you we were just sitting at the table drinking beer/cocktails (which they sell in the market) and eating pizza. No one was yelling, dancing or running around. It was simply conversation of many people. The next thing you know the security guard is telling us to keep the noise level down as the private guest located on the first floor are complaining. Approximately 15 minutes later the local police show up. They walk with a puzzled look on their face. The front desk instructs them that we need to be sent back to our rooms. Please note that the time is 10:30 and we are a group booking socializing in the only place provided for us to congregate. The hotel staff told us to take it back to our individual rooms if we wanted to continue our conversations!!!! I found their problem solving skills to be very poor and their attitude to be extremely inflexible. I believe that the hotel had several alternative options such as providing a room away from the group of the private guest and or opening a meeting room for our group. The following morning when I ask for the names of the staff on duty the previous night, the manager on duty stated that he had instructed the staff to call the police in if they thought we were too loud!!! They had already decided to contact the police before anyone congregated. In addition to the poor treatment two of our group members ended up with hair in their mouths from the oatmeal. When the staff was confronted they only indicated that it was not her hair. There was no apology and the oatmeal was not taken out of service. The room my family occupied faced the front of the building and the lights from the front entrance blared in through the window from the ill fitted curtains. By the second night I decided to move to the sleeper sofa so that I didn't have light shining in my eyes all night. To my surprise the sheet kit for the sofa was soiled. I ended up taking the sheets from the bed I slept in the prior night. To my horror when I was putting the sleeper sofa back together I notice that those sheet were also soiled. I wish I could up load the picture I took. It will make your skin crawl. To add salt to the wound, when I presented my story to the Marriott customer service site I was sent back to the hotel staff. The manager made no apologies and stated they handled our situation appropriately and that they would have to politely decline any further communication and would not respond to any further complaints. I travel frequently with my son's hockey team. This was by far the worst hotel experience. The staff was unfriendly and outright hostile. The food was contaminated with hair and the rooms were not clean. read more
