2 out of 5 stars Willowbrook Delta Hotel by Marriott - 4-night stay I recently stayed at the Willowbrook Delta Hotel by Marriott for four nights. While the staff was friendly and professional, my experience left a lot to be desired--especially for a Marriott-branded property. Minor concerns first: * The outdoor swimming pool was completely non-functional and clearly neglected. It sat right outside my window and was such an eyesore that I kept my blinds closed the entire stay. * Only one elevator was working. While the hotel is only three stories, it became a hassle during busier times of day. Now for the bigger issues: * My room had noticeable carpet stains that made it feel unclean despite the fairly new furniture and nice TV. * Housekeeping was very disappointing. Even after specifically asking, they didn't clean the bathroom, never changed the bed linens, and I had to personally go find them to get fresh towels. * The biggest issue: my room had ants. I called the front desk and was told there was no way to treat it and no option to switch rooms because the hotel was sold out. I requested to speak with a manager and was told managers don't work on weekends. I tried to handle the ants myself, but the problem got worse, and I even ended up with some bites. While the rooms have potential and the staff is courteous, the housekeeping and pest control are seriously lacking. Until those issues are addressed, I can't recommend this hotel.

This is only the second Delta hotel I've stayed at but was disappointed. On a positive note the front desk staff at check was very friendly. While I hate (but can appreciate) the bulk shampoo/conditioner/shower gels nowadays, when you get in the shower and they are empty it's very frustrating. No conditioner for me here. The amount of hair in the shower is what really gave this two stars... long hairs... clearly hadn't been cleaned. The clock was half working and went off at 6 am. Lastly, there was air/light coming through the wall above the AC. Also... no breakfast on Monday. Not sure if this is every Monday or just when we stayed, luckily there is a Dennys next door.

This Delta by Marriott is billed as a premium property but is anything but; at best, its below their Fairfield product line. In July, the pool was closed. Half the room numbers were missing from the doors & their towels were literally Home Depot rags. Gross, stay anywhere else. Staff claimed to have no authority to resolve any issue. Emails sent via corporate website went unacknowledged. Very disappointing for Marriott; brand has fallen so far.

I would pass on this property! There are so many things wrong with it; from cleaning to safety issues to things just plain falling apart. This is a very old location, formerly a Holiday Inn, then an independent and now Marriott Delta. The rooms are good sized but the bathrooms are very small. The first room I was assigned had a dirty bathroom, and the second room looked like it had not been vacuumed. I noticed the fire extinguisher in the lounge was expired, so I looked at one of the hall ones, and it had the same expired inspiration date. The first room had a tub, and the 2nd had a shower. When in the shower you can feel the flooring flexing. The lighting in the 1st bathroom was good, but the 2nd had very little light. Many of the rooms had their numbers falling off the wall. The hallways had a lot of deodorizer sprayed in them. The windows and walls are thin; with the Willowbrook police department next to the hotel, you will hear sirens at all times. For those that have lounge access, this location only had some cild drinks available. The coffee maker was broken, and nothing was put out for breakfast.

Bathroom exhaust fan has not been cleaned in ages.

Very underwhelmed. Pretty consistent police activity on property. Room was not cleaned well and was just kinda icky. The only bright spot was the front desk staff was very accommodating at check in. Wouldn't recommend.

I checked in super late, around 1am. The lobby and parking lot were full of drunk people from another wedding so that was fun. But the person that checked me in was super friendly and got me checked in quickly. The room was nice and had good space. It was just me but it would be fine for 2 people. The only thing I noticed was that there wasn't a coffee maker in the room, but there was coffee, stirrers, etc. my favorite thing about staying in hotels is complimentary breakfast so I got coffee downstairs anyway so it wasn't a big deal. The breakfast was pretty good and had a good variety. Our first room the beds were completely broken down and when you turned over the extent noise of the springs kept us up throughout the night. Second room the toilet was continuously running and observed the carpet under the a/c unit was soaked from water dripping onto it. Yes both items were corrected. Went for breakfast and observed a large bug crawling all over the breakfast area and when I brought it to their attention, they stated it's only a large ant. I don't care if it's a small ant, roach or fly it was totally disgusting. I was threatened to be charged $75 stating I had not had a service dog that, he was an emotional support animal. I advised them, I have a letter documented by a licensed provider stating he is a medically necessary service dog. Lastly getting stuck in the elevator after pushing the button for help, screaming and banging on the door upon the door, finally opening and a employee standing outside, tells me what's the problem I pushed the button and it opened OK it might've opened on the outside, but it did not on the inside. She then asked me are you sure you didn't press a button absolutely I pressed number one to go to the ground floor. Upon coming up to our room and having three lung surgeries, the whole floor smelled like marijuana called Schererville Police Department and two officers and all of a sudden, a director of sales showed up and yes, they did observe the smell. Also observed a family spraying Febreze in the hallway. Would I ever recommend staying here again absolutely not.

I had booked a one night stay and later needed another night which I also reserved through Hotels.com, One Key or Expedia whatever you are calling yourself this week. I asked if I could combine the two without checking out and I was told no, I would need to cancel the second night and the hotel would then put the two nights together. Once that was done I was ultimately charged a fee like there were separate credit card transactions for 2 nights for using a credit card and not paying cash. Really who is carrying around that much cash nowadays and secondly why 2 charges when the credit card was only run once ? Although I knew that there was no breakfast buffet available, I was extremely disappointed that there was no coffee on hand either in the lobby or in room. This hotel is in bad condition, very dirty and antiquated. In the first room I was placed in the TV was not working and I need to call the front desk. They sent a man up to verify that the TV was operational and only needed new batteries in the changer. Then I needed to call the front desk again when a plumbing problem in the room was uncovered. (The toilet was not refilling itself as the cut off was turned off. However after I turned it back on it did not fill up the tank and the man they sent up verified it was a true plumbing problem and I was moved to another room.) I feel that all of these issues should have been discovered prior to me occupying that room. There was an insufficient number of towels available in the bathroom. 2 Tiny bars of soap that were so old they cracked into slivers when dropped. One wash cloth and one towel looked like rags that were used to clean dirty, oily machinery. On the second day the room was cleaned and the used towels were taken away but no clean ones were left in the room. Perhaps the cleaning person did not know that it was a two day stay. I had to track the cleaning person down to get replacement towels for the second day. In the room there was evidence of years of neglect was void of general maintenance, Behind the TV stand was what look liked years of dust and an old empty bottle, apparently the furniture is not moved on any schedule for a deep cleaning of the room. There were smears on the headboards and the walls had marks on them everywhere including spills that had never been cleaned. In 2023, USB outlets or easily accessible outlets are a must. This room provided neither. I could continue, but I think you get the idea. In looking at the reviews post trip, little has changed from similar complaints as far as 2 years prior, though owners state they are working in the problems. This property was nowhere near up to the standards that I would expect attached to the One Key branding. I have always associated the One Key, Hotels.com and Expedia name with quality and a higher standard than I experienced. I would love to say that I will seek out a a property under your umbrella for a future stay but at this point, I am not confident that the One Key name would be at the top of my list. My guess is that the franchisee of this property is tarnishing the branding brand without corporate knowledge. I would also hope there is some level of guidelines required to become a client of One Key branding.

Saturday night the guests had taken over the entire breakfast seating area with crockpots of food and delivery pizza. I wish we would've made friends and ate with them instead of next-door at the Farmhouse Restaurant. It was terrible. I wrote a different review on that. We booked a 2 queen room for our family of 3. The room was spacious and had a view of the woods and walking trail behind the hotel. There was a mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker in the room. The shower had shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. We did have problems with our door unlocking, but it was no issue. The main reason we stayed here was for the pool. The pool is 3'6" deep with a basketball goal and water spraying into it. There is a kitty pool that was 1 foot deep and two small slides. There was also a hot tub that went indoor and outdoor Saturday night the hot tub was too hot for my son to get in but Sunday morning it was warm. Lots of kids in the hot tub. The pool is not heated. It was pretty cold. I preferred the hot tub temperature. The staff at check-in and check out were both very friendly. They do a continental breakfast with two waffle makers. My son loved making his own waffles. They also had scrambled eggs, sausage, links, ham, hard boiled eggs, bagels, toast, muffins, oatmeal, and cereal. Plus a machine with orange juice, apple juice, cranberry juice, and water and of course there was a coffee. We enjoyed our stay! As loud as the hotel was Saturday night. I expected to be woke up by kids running down the hallway or slamming doors and I'm happy to say we all slept all night. Great destination hotel.

I had a security incident on my first visit - housekeeping forgot to undo the deadbolt that they had used when cleaning the room, so when I got back to my room very late that night, the door was open. I was utterly exhausted and didn't have the energy to switch rooms. Luckily it didn't seem like anything was stolen, but I really didn't have any mental energy to spend - this was the day after a family member passed away - and I just wanted to crash into bed. I did speak with an assistant manager the next day who apologized profusely, and thankfully I haven't had any other issues since then. I really wish the breakfast was better - I miss a waffle maker. The breakfast variety isn't great, and sometimes there can be a big rush of people. One morning, there was a crowd waiting for more pancakes, and when more came out, there were only enough for a few people. It was awkward. Most mornings, I just end up with hard boiled eggs and a bagel - the hot options looked too greasy or soggy. For me, this hotel is about the location - it's very convenient for me so I put up with the meh breakfast. It's also a little less expensive than some of the nearby hotels, and I appreciate the Hyatt rewards program.
