I wasn't notified when workers came to pour the new landing and had to try to figure out how to exit my apartment with my dog and also try to load my car to go away for the weekend. It's been over 2 weeks now and they still haven't cleaned up the rubble from all the work that was done. There are caution cones and huge gaps in the landing. The newer updated apartments still have old/unimpressive appliances.

The…read moreapartments are solid and feel very "house-like" without much noise or creaking when you walk around like in some other complexes. The maintenance staff are very friendly and promptly take care of any issues, and the grounds are well kept, including during winter weather. Since RP Management took over, they have replaced the windows and the toilet in all apartments, and they have also redone the parking lot blacktop throughout the complex. Pets are allowed here without any breed restrictions as well. Noise from the railroad tracks by Main Street is minimal and not an issue like it would be for apartments closer to the tracks. One small downside is parking can be pretty tight depending on what lot you live by, so you may have to walk a bit to your apartment. Overall, it is a great complex, and is located in a safe, quiet area.

We lived here our first year in the Valley. We moved out after our first year. Just not enough to…read moremake it worth what they were charging in rent. The apartments are pushing 15-20 years of age and they haven't done much upkeep. Ours was clean and freshly painted when we moved in, but it was starting to look a little worse for wear...broken floor tiles, awful light fixtures, etc. It took me about 2 hours at Lowe's, 6 hours in the apartment, and $200 to get it to look like we wanted it to and to put in the shelving we needed. The coat closets on the first floor 1 bedrooms are in a weird place, so we just put up a coat rack and turned our coat closet into a pantry. The age also has lent the apartments to start having maintenance issues. Especially toward the end of our lease, we had someone in our apartment once a week fixing things. I don't like having strangers in my apartment, especially when I'm not home. The office manager was nice enough. They did fix things very quickly when they did break. But with a 6% rent increase, we were able to move into a much nicer, brand new apartment for only $50 more per month, and since they cover water in our new place, it's really only $35 more per month. I think they are just overpriced. Not a bad place to live, but it's definitely the worst of the Landmark Communities.

Lived here for 8 years. It was a fair priced apartment at the time and close to work. We were…read morefortunate in having some good neighbors in our building and generally in our block so it wasn't bad. Each progressing year we had our price increase and seemed as though good neighbors moved out and miscreants moved in. Can't tell you how many times the cops were called for stuff in the past few years when we hardly saw them if ever the first couple. Bugs are a big problem. Ants, wasps, crickets, and spiders are pretty common in the buildings. Hot water chooses when to work properly, and good luck sharing 2 super cheap washers and dryers with 12 families, now with time limits. We had kids from the school dropping in and out of our building left and right to chill and smoke pot. The office will tell you to catch them in the act and call the cops. Good luck with that. Neighbors are also welcome to smoke anything that seeps into your apartment rooms and nothing gets done about it. Speaking of, the women in the office are generally nice and helpful. Some more than others. Simple mistakes or misunderstandings have lead to quick attitudes, in which my wife and I did not appreciate, but generally got along with them overall. The company itself, Altman, is one of the cheapest and most selfish companies I have ever been apart of. You'll see it clearly with the cheap apartments and contents down the the hired help (yard work, upkeep, pool, etc). You're paying around $1000 or more and you feel at times you should be paying around $250 a month. It went from very nice to almost ghetto in the span since we have been there. We gave them a 30 day notice after the notice was given saying it would be terminated and decided to tell us it was 60 days notice and they renewed it, and then they say are doing us a favor by not charging us 3 months rent. Never mind being a good resident and paying on time for 8 years for their super confusing and shady lingo and rules. Also, they pick and choose when to open the pool as they can't competently hire people each year so you never really know. Last year we got a discount at the city pool, when we are paying for the one they put in years ago. This year it went up $20 more. Awesome. Have fun in the winter when the plows close you in and you have to shovel huge mounds of snow only to have it stolen right after as they do not help with parking spots and allow everyone to have as many cars parked in the main sections as you want without enforcement. I could keep going but this is long enough. I honestly hate to bash them as we lived our life here for near a decade (would have moved out years sooner if able) but we saw it go from a good place to live where I would tell my coworkers to move to and enjoy to a place I will now tell them and everyone else reading this to look elsewhere. This is a heartless place with cheap living everywhere you look and they do you no favors at the end of the day. There's a couple of really good people that work and live there but you're better off spending your money somewhere else. 1 star feels a bit much but that's as low as I can go.

Add on working while moving and other additional stressors, and I was bracing for the worst case scenario. I went in expecting a nightmarish move like our last experience (with another company), only to be surprised by how smoothly everything went in comparison to all our previous moves. Only a few minor things were damaged - nothing we can't live without or get replaced. The 3 man crew who completed our move were cordial, and were very careful and respectful of the furniture and properties. Their team leader was experienced and imparted some helpful advice on how to fix the legs of my old upright piano that had been damaged in a previous move. While this job certainly went overtime, the cost was reasonable for our shoestring budget. These young men worked hard, and my family and I really appreciate their efforts and due diligence. Thank you for making an incredibly stressful day so much more bearable for us.
