It was a Monday evening and there were only a handful of customers in the pub when we visited. Having said that, you get a feel for places and this one "felt" like it was a good pub. It had 2 outside seating areas; one that was covered for the smokers and another that is accessed through a rather nice conservatory area.
Inside, the pub had what I would describe as a games room - pool table, darts board etc and another area where meals are probably served. In addition to this, it has a small non-raised stage area, as they have live bands each week and as already mentioned the nice conservatory area.
The pub doesn't sell real ale - so I went with the Newcastle Brown Ale.
We had a game of darts and felt comfy in the pub - sometimes the locals of any pub do "The American Werewolf in London" impression - you must have seen the pub scene in the film.
I liked this pub and we are off there for lunch today.
The only downside to it, was the prices. It cost £7.50 for a double vodka & coke and a bottle of Newcastle Brown.
The cost at The Butterfly for a double vodka & coke and a pint of real ale was only £5.80. read more
