This is a modern one room pub, with a pleasant sun facing outside seating area in the Ember chain. The staff are nice and friendly and although there's no TV and little entertainment, it's busy and lively. There's a good variety of lager, well kept real ale and reasonably priced meals. Recently I had gammon, eggs and chips with peas and wedges served on a chipped plate and my partner chose lasagne. My gammon and eggs were perfectly cooked but the wedges were tasteless and soggy and there were very few peas. Why? peas aren't exactly expensive. My partner enjoyed her lasagne but it came without the soured cream listed on the menu. Overall a very average chain pub meal. We went there again on a recent Saturday night and found it very quiet. We both had meals from 'the chef recommends' menu. Although the meals were tasty, it's obvious the management haven't read my review because they were even meaner with the vegetables (french beans) this time. About 30% of 1 of the recommended 5 a day I'd say! read more
