The male at the front desk was utterly rude and aggressive, and I overheard him encourages other guests in the waiting room to talk shit about me. While I made a few mistakes myself, he was screaming at me telling me he will not get in trouble because he's related to the manager and that they will pull the camera footage to prove I was in the wrong. As I was trying to leave, the male yelled for me and handed me a postit with the manager's number. When i told him it wasn't worth my time, he told me to "please get the fuck out." When I said they lost a client (this was my favorite spot, I have been here many times and given them a lot of business), he said thank god and good riddance. I just don't think anyone should be treated this was - he was such a gaslighter i won't be surprised if this gets an owner reply continuing to make me feel like I was in the wrong and to try and defend yelling at a woman. Edit: 30 min later The male employee was right! That dude is NOT getting in trouble because he is related to the manager! I received a few missed calls from the salon, and finally answered. Marina (manager) called me (i did not reach out or ever intend to contact them beyond leaving this yelp review, clearly he reached out to her to get ahead of his behavior). I told her I did not feel like being berated anything further, and told me I was a very, very rude woman and she saw absolutely nothing wrong with this employees behavior or the way he spoke to me. I have already been at Gotham Glow 3x and decided to purchase a package of 6 tans (since I have…read moremany events coming up soon!). To start with my experiences so far, they have all been great. Mandy has done all my tans and she is a sweetheart. I have never had a problem with my tans and they have all been the shade I wanted and have come out even. The shade you pick stays in your file so each time you come back you can refer to it if you want to do that shade again or go lighter or darker. You need to prepare for the tan just as they recommend that you do in the instructions they send you prior to the appointment if you want this to be worth it. Also, follow the instructions on how to get to their location just as they are written. The first time I came I was confused and a bit skeptical after entering a regular building, going up an elevator, and then down an empty hall to a simple door (then again, it is exactly what they write to expect, but still!) However, after having learned the directions on how to get around the space it is fine now. A big thing is their cancelation policy (full charge if you are late or cancel within 24 hours) which I read from other reviews is a big turn-away for some. I mean, it IS extreme, but that's what it is. I always factor in extra time when traveling to my appointments and like to give myself an extra 45 minutes- 1 hour just in case (it's the city so who knows what traffic jam you can get into). I do not expect to be seen early when I arrive and one time did have to wait until my scheduled appointment time, however got lucky during my last visit and was able to tan earlier. The salon provides scrunchies, shower caps, and wipes, if you need any of the products for the tan. Going back to the package of 6 tans that I purchased, the receptionist informed me that I can leave a tip for all 6 tans in advance with my purchase right now, and it will then be applied to each tan during my future visits. For me this was a very convenient feature and now I do not need to think about payments during my next visits, as they are already prepaid with tip as well!

Jackie informed me that anything they do would fade considerably by the time my event came around. She said she would ask her boss for a recommendation in California and call me back. Within five minutes, she called me back with the name of a salon in California. They went above and beyond without knowing me. They were honest with me as to what the results would look like if I did it a week ahead of time, even if it meant losing the business. When I do decide to use a tanning salon in New York, this will be the only place I will be calling. This is old school customer service at its best!
