During the COVID-19 pandemic my go-to option for using the restroom by stopping to get a coffee or something to eat and using a restroom ended up not being an option regularly available, so I started eyeing this park as I drove past and finally decided to stop both ways, going east and west, across the Cascade Mountains in mid to late August 2021. The main sign is clearly visible from US-2 and even lighted, which makes it easy to spot on a cloudy or wildfire-smoky day. There is a large pull-off area next to two port-a-pottis and a garbage can. Picnic tables are spread out in the park. Grassy areas to leave one's vehicle and stretch one's legs were on multiple sides of the pull-off. Trees line part of the park's perimeter. The port-a-pottis are located about 10 feet from the railroad tracks. On my first visit, a train barreled past as I was using the outhouse... First time I have used an outhouse that was being actively rattled by a train not ten feet away. An experience to remember. The outhouses were well maintained, as was the rest of the park. All around a nice place to stop and rest especially during COVID-19 times.

What a neat spot! I…read morewas just out on a drive with my two sons and nephew whom were all getting a big stir crazy.. I stumbled upon this place and pulled into the small, unassuming parking lot. There are a few benches right as you pull in that have a nice view of scenery. As you walk down a semi steep slope, you are met with open field and a few lakes. We kept walking straight which led us onto a trail. There were many branches and obstructions on the path so just be careful! We stopped and had a beautiful view of a private beach along the river. I'm glad I stopped here with my family. It was good exercise and a lovely time spent with Mother Nature.

By the parking area is a main sign with park information and a map of the trail system, which includes an inner and an outer loop, with a marker for where the sign is located "You are here" on the lower left. The sunlight was a little more golden/yellow than normal due to wildfire smoke haze. The air was warm and birds sang throughout out my walk around the outer loop. They flitted from branch to branch and rustled about in the brush on the ground. I encountered juncos, song sparrows, rufous-sided towhees, a rufous hummingbird, and a gray squirrel while walking. Wildflowers were in bloom and salmonberry plants bore both blooms and not yet ripe fruit. For the outer trail, I found the path to be relatively flat and easy to traverse. I paid attention to road positioning as I walked as I could glimpse it through the trees at different points on the trail. It started on my right (I went counterclockwise around the outer loop), so I knew I was nearing full-circle when it switched back to being on my right again. I missed the parking area by one side trail and ended up coming out at the end of the lot instead of the main trailhead. Fun park to enjoy the wilderness.

This is an interesting little area just off the road. You can do a few little loops or take the…read moreadventurous route and go off the map (but still on clearly used trails) and get a bit more distance in. I lost reception so my phone stopped tracking me accurately, but I got 3 miles or so in with the looping shown below. So, check it out if you are driving by and want a quick dose of greenery. Bottom line: This is not a destination to add to your nature bucket list, but it is worth pulling over for to get some fresh air and a few calories burned if on your way to or from Mel and Mia's.

This park isn't really a park in the way one would think. There isn't significant green space to…read moresit, hang out, etc. There is a mini parking lot and is the east end of the Snohomish River Front Trail. Other than a great photo op spot of the of the old train bridge, there isn't much else. I looked at the map and walked around a bit and only saw a private road. So..., don't plan on coming here to sit and chill. It could be muddy and/or weeds are covering the area. There isn't even a bench to enjoy the peaceful and quiet river.

This a nice water-access area for small boats/kayaks, fishing, etc... on the Snohomish River. It…read morehas a gravel, circle-turnaround (for most people... who went the wrong way, continuing down Maple), and a small, dirt/gravel parking lot that fits maybe 5-10 vehicles -- including one handicapped-accessible spot that is paved. It has a view of the old railroad crossing over the Snohomish River that is well photographed, and it's located at the end of the river walkway that goes from Andy's Fish House to this location. It has a grassy area, a picnic bench, and some trash cans... but that's about it as far as "park ammenities" go. It's a cool little spot, though.

The parking lot hasn't been busy when I visited twice - but then again it was both on a weekday. There are doggy bags available at the entrance before you enter the park in case you forgot your own supply. Don't be a jerk and pick up after your dog. The trail into the park from the parking lot is a gravel path. Once you get to the end of that path - you can already here the water streams. Your first right, you go up a mini hill to a circle track-type of path that you can cut straight through - There is an awesome place to have your dog dip their paws in along with a mini trail that we didn't venture that far into. The second right - you come to a rather large opening to the swamp. The water is flowing quite quick so make sure your dog can combat the stream of water otherwise there is a mini waterfall not too far from this opening. If you keep going on the main paved trail - you cross a bridge that goes over the swamp and mini waterfall. There are picnic tables and benches throughout parts of the park - it's pretty awesome how it feels like you are far from the road but in reality - you're right there, within walking distance from it. The end of the trail leads to another main road, so I usually just turn around and head back to the main entrance. I've been here twice in one week - I'll definitely take my dog here more. One of the more nicer parks in the area :)

Steve and I were in Monroe and were trying to find something to do. We were waiting for some people…read moreto meet at the fairgrounds in town and had some time to kill so we picked this park for a small excursion. It's beautiful being so close to the river and at the time there was fog present which for me I often enjoy as it adds layers and atmosphere at certain times and it did so here. There were also sand bars near the river we went on. The path we used started at another park, right next to Al Borlin and then led us back to Al Borlin. We wouldn't have known the difference between the two parks if it wasn't for the signs posted. We got some beautiful views of the mountains (which I think were the Enchantments) and of the river again from a different vantage point. This park would be great to come to during any of the four seasons as you are bound to get some beauty each time along with the seasonal aspect at work.

We live in the apartments by this park. Every time my 5 year old and I would go, bums everywhere…read more They built a little compound under a beautiful old tree by the creek. At night you can see lighters flicking on and off. Our apartment faces the creek and I hear people screaming at all hours of the night. I would never go there alone. It's sad because it's so beautiful but not safe. unfortunately, the police cant do anything unless they are committing a crime.

Wilcox Park is a nice place to go for a brief walk through the woods and has abundant picnic tables…read moreand benches for enjoying something to eat and/or resting. The large grassy field on 196th Street SW is prefect for if you want space to be active and run around or play a recreation field sport that doesn't take up too much space. There is parking on both 196th Street SW and the short Wilcox Park/Veterans Way Drive on the backside of the park. I enjoy the row of American flags flying high on the front side of the park. It is both patriotic and makes the park easy to identify from the road when driving past. Sanitation wasn't a problem when I visited and the park was well taken care of. There is also a restroom building with running water.

A cute playground and field off the main road, offering two playground sets, a large field for…read morerunning, ball-play, etc. and parking available just off the main road. The playground seems bustling, even on a cold autumn day with the sun setting. Families coming and going and kids eager to play. Minimal, but a great little spot to stop and stretch.
