Called and asked some questions regarding bmx parts while visiting Peterborough, was given certain…read moreanswers that turned out not to be correct, bad attitude from certain employees due to their opinions about people who you ride with, very rude and technically hate speech comments being made when staff thinking think people could over hear. Refusal to use spokes of customers desired brands, incorrect answers to parts compatibility and numerous other issues. It's almost like they hired all the local bmx riders who know nothing and don't care at all unless its exactly what they like and are interested in. Among other issues. I wouldn't buy a bike here at all. Not even mtb side but I'd certainly avoid it bmx wise. Also know of them seeking staff and refusing locals who are knowledgeable in the industry and involved with brands and owners due to looks and supposedly looking like the f bomb used as a derogatory term to certain groups. Among other inappropriate and unprofessional issues. As well as blatant importer repaired on purpose or purposeful lack of proper repairs and maintenance jobs to my friends bikes. I'm out the cost of a set of cranks and sprocket. Or a titanium spindle and set of spindle bolts. And one of my friends is out the equivalent of hundreds of dollars on wheel work on one set of wheels. Let alone the effort or having to get a manufacturer to solve an issue caused by this shop. Refused to process warranty. Distro requires the shop to handle warranty. Told to reach out himself and ignored. Then told my the Distro they can't process anything unless the shop submits the warranty claim. I've worked in numerous shops including globally recognized shops. Very unprofessional. Stop selling bikes if you want to act like a big box store. Or act like a proper retailer if you want to sell bikes. And cut it with the hate speech bs. And get a hold of your employees. Racism and numerous other inappropriate comments were heard. If it wouldn't have wasted more of my time in a crap store I'd have reported it.

I appreciate Travis and his passion for airguns and his expertise in helping me with mine. In fact he's repaired my airguns that had some issues and their prices are beyond reasonable. As a Canadian supporting local business I generally buy everything I can from them and when I do get the time to visit (it's a 90 minute drive for me) in reminded why I do so. Highly recommend.

This year, I took it in to get it fixed properly - except NO ONE WILL TOUCH MY CAR NOW. Apparently this stuff is SO NOXIOUS that it requires an entirely different process to flush out this chemical. I took it back to Canadian Tire, and they'll do it, but it's going to cost around a thousand dollars. I personally think they should flush it out for free, but that's not the response I got in the shop. They just shrugged and said "oh well". Please share this widely for anyone who needs to know. These giant companies feed off folks who don't have a lot of money and have to try and do things themselves. Then charge exorbitant prices to fix what their shitty product caused.

However, Canadian Tire on Lansdowne in Peterborough, ON was able to order the tires I needed, with next day delivery, and in less than 24 hours, the tires were ordered and placed on my car. I dealt with a gentleman by the name of George in Canadian Tire's automotive department and he provided great customer service. He was patient, professional and answered all of my questions (both over the phone [a few times], and in person!). As a young audiophile I grew up bought my first good system from them a Yamaha rxv 992 5.1 surround sound receiver still have it to this day. These are good hard working people who are just as passionate what they sell as the audiophiles who are buying it. I know first hand from years of speaking with them and always being welcomed by a smile. These types of stores are being beaten up by big box stores from the USA who sell crap and if your not buying anything we don't have time to stand and chat about why this speaker is better then this one. I am in Cobourg once a month and I always make a point of stopping in at this outdoors store. The…read morestaff are always friendly and there is a fair selection in this tiny store (as well as a fairly large sale rack for clothing and shoes). Always lots of seasonal clothing, camping gear (knapsacks, stoves, etc) and some gifty items. Presently during the winter months they also carry skiis and snowshoes and during the summer they rent bikes and canoes/kayaks. Definitely the best outdoors store in the area.
