There's the main lavender gardens that are in bloom June/July and September/October, as well as another garden with many different types of lavender that still had some blooming in August. After checking out the gardens and self-guided tours, you can pop into the gift shop and buy all manner of things made with lavender, from culinary items to body care to home goods. I'm a big fan of the lavender chocolate tea having had it prior to this visit. Don't miss out on the fossil that's across from the gift shop! There's a little plaque for it. There's a pretty big parking lot when you first drive in and another parking lot past the gift shop that's in the shade. Bathrooms are available. All of the staff were friendly and knowledgeable. I know they host a huge lavender festival in the summer, but I have yet to attend. If you want to learn the most, that might be your best bet, but visiting at another time is best to avoid the crowds. While this isn't something I would drive from Halifax just to see, if you're in the area, it's worth the ~15-30 minutes to check it out!

What we enjoy most about the store is that it is a small, family owned business, and all their knives are made right here in Nova Scotia. The office/factory is a two-storey building with one big show room downstairs where all the knives are sold, and a factory upstairs where the knives are made. The knives are very reasonably priced (e.g., $30 for a hunting knife) and the store also offers a selection of "seconds knives" which are slightly imperfected knives sold at a significantly reduced cost.

Grohmann customer support Cynthia, Darlene and Adrienne keep refusing to refund my money because they don't want to call Canada Post to sort it out. Most likely Canada Post lost the parcel. They don't answer the phones, the e-mails, they never call back. Mr Grohmann is spinning in his grave with such successors.
