We waited for a whole hour for our food. Not enough people working. Second and last time eating here.

I think there was only one person working so ring the bell if no one comes to the window. When we ordered, he said that it would be about 35 minutes. There are 4 tables for eating in. We had the rib tip dinner and the pulled pork. Each dinner comes with 2 sides and cornbread. I had the collard greens and the candied yams and they were both really good. The meat was also very moist and tender with good flavor. Each dinner could feed two people. I would definitely come back!

I called at 4:08pm to place a carry out order, they took my payment and said the food would be ready in 30 minutes. I got the restaurant at 4:31 and the food wasn't ready however, the restaurant was empty and clean so I sat down the wait. The food wasn't ready until 4:50. It looked like only one man was working but he was friendly and greeted me warmly! Now for the food: 10/10!! Crispy fish, crispier okra and cheesy well seasoned Mac and cheese! The cornbread was a little hard but overall the meal was truly delicious and reminded me of the comfort of a home cooked me for the wait was well worth it! I highly recommend if you're in Ypsi!

Let me tell you how sad I was that I had waited this long to try out the place... we were greeted like we had been there many times. We ordered a ton of food to sample. She got the basic chick with bacon and no mayo, because she can't handle spice. The sandwich was HUGE. She couldn't finish it all in one sitting. But she loved every bite. She actually said she would come back JUST for the sweet potato fries, because they were so good. I got the white trash fries to go with my Mac Smasher... the fries were decent. The Mac Smasher though was amazing. I had my whole double while at the table. I even ordered one 2 weeks later when i left the state as my goodbye meal. We tried the mac and cheese and the collard greens. She said that the mac and cheese was the best she had ever had at a restaurant. Collard greens were tasty and had chunks of meat in it. I tried (the next day mind you, because we were stuffed) some of the wings with their medium sauce. Even reheated they were moist and properly cooked.... This was a 5 star experience, and had a 5 star leftover experience. Amazing all the way around.

Parking is a little challenging during dinner time in this area, but I was there at 4:30, so I found a spot around the corner. Everything is pre-made, and you order at a cafeteria style counter. You can see all the options in front of you. There is fried chicken, fried catfish, ribs, meatloaf, smothered pork chops and I believe a few other entrees. I chose the fried chicken dinner, which comes with 2 sides and cornbread. For sides I ordered the greens and mac & cheese. There were also cabbage, green beans, yams, rice, dressing, and beans. There are no tables, so it is carry out only. The chicken had good flavor. Slightly greasy, but acceptable for fried chicken. It was not super crunchy, as some other fried chicken styles are. The greens were tasty, a little salty. The Mac and cheese was disappointing. Not much flavor. I was also not a big fan of the cornbread. It was a big piece, a little dry. So, this is the first week this place is open, so I am cutting them some slack. My bill was $13.75. It was 3 pieces of chicken (2 thighs and a drumstick). The portions of the sides were generous, and as mentioned earlier, the cornbread was big. I will give them another chance and update my review then.

The invasion of chicken fingers continues. Came here with my son who is in his Nashville hot…read morechicken era. Menu is like most other hot chicken joints - tenders, sliders, loaded fries, and a few dessert type things (milkshakes, puddings). The place itself is pretty spacious. We went close to closing time, so it was pretty empty, but this place can easily hold 40-50 people. What I appreciate about most of these hot chicken places is the food is made fresh, as they have to if they want the rub you choose to stick to the tenders. This also creates a bit of wait time as they don't just have food sitting at the ready. A slight price to pay for better food. My son ended up getting a combo that had both a slider and a tender. I ended up getting the loaded fries, though I didn't add the slaw and pickles for an extra buck. Of the hot chicken places we've tried in the area, my son said these were his favorite. The tenders were a good size, and the slider would be considered a chicken sandwich at most places. The loaded fries I got were HUGE. I was thinking they were a little overpriced at first, but after having ordered, them, I can tell you they were well worth the money. It had to be a solid 2 pounds of food. OVERALL - a nice addition to the Canton dining scene. I'm sure I'll be going back at my son's request. Celebrity Rating - Chris Evans

It's surprising to me that the name hasn't already been trademarked as the label is very generic and frequently used around the country. This chicken shop was located on a busy stretch of Michigan Ave in South Canton. Plenty of parking was available in the lot, and the inside could seat well over 50 customers. Like a lot of other similar businesses, there was colorful and cartoonish decor on the dining room walls. Four menu screens hung behind the service counter. Main entrees were displayed on the left two screens. Four combos were on the first, and a la carte items (e.g. grilled cheese, loaded fries) were on the second. Drinks, desserts, and party packs were listed on the right two screens. Six levels of spiciness were available from Country to Blazin which required a signed waiver. The 2 Pc Tender Basket was my selection. The order contained two tenders (mild spice was my choice) on top of a piece of white bread, crinkle cut french fries, sweet pickle chips, and a cup of coop sauce. The last item was similar to remoulade. I liked that the pickles weren't sour as most places serve. The issue was that the breading did not adhere well to the chicken pieces which were also small compared to the standard at hot chicken places in my hometown.

This is a super late review that has been sitting in my drafts for some unknown reason…read more.. But my girlfriend (who is from Louisiana) stopped in to eat here a couple months back. They had vinyl jazz playing, which i noticed but was second nature to her... We were greeted, told to order from the table, and he would bring it out. We got a whole bunch of stuff to try out... She got catfish and curly fries, which she loved. I got a larger sea food boil with every seasoning, it was great -- a bit small for what i thought the price was but for the taste i'm not complaining. We ordered hush puppies as an appetizer, and i had to hear from her that they were "good" but it's not how she would make them, blah blah blah.... Southern people and their soul food, everyone has a hot take. With that said, she ate most of them. We also had a fried basket appetizer which was catfish nuggets, shrimp, and clams i think -- also very good. Lastly, no picture on this one, but we got a blackened alfredo to go --- and it was also very tasty. We have been back twice since our initial visit. Amazing food, and come to find out the employee that was helping us, was the only one who works there... it was overall impressive, tasty, and we'll be back more.

The jambalaya is vegan until you add meat to it, they have vegan beignets (though they sell out fast, so make sure to place your order early).
