I was here last night and it was SO fun. Nightmare New England should definitely have a better rating. They put so much effort in to the design of each house and the costumes, it's amazing. I'd love to walk through during the day sometime just to appreciate all of the work. I don't want to give anything away but I'll say that each attraction is so different and they incorporate tons of corners and turns so there are plenty of opportunities for someone to jump out at you. On a super busy night, VIP seems worth it. However, we got there around 1030 pm on a Saturday (park opens at 7) and the lines were really quick and we were able to make it through everything before close. This was my third time going to Nightmare New England over the past few years and it doesn't get old. There are enough small changes that you'll still be surprised and scared. The actors are not able to touch you and you cannot touch them, except for the haunted hayride where they will probably drag their hands over your face. There ARE clowns for all of you who are horrified.

They always keep me coming back! This year was the best experience I've had since preCovid and I have to thank and applaud all the workers for really honoring the name Spooky World! We went for opening night, I'm normally the leader of the pack in these houses but this year I was genuinely spooked, jumped, and even had moments I was running from actors it was the most FUN experience! The hayride is the best it's been in YEARS!!! Lots of jump scares and I love the new touches they've added onto it while keeping my favorites like the people talking in tongues and the plane crash. The colony was the one I genuinely was chased and even tripped over my friends which left us hysterically crying tears of laughter and joy. I did asylum last year on the blackout night but under the lights for sure was much better getting to see all the cooks inside. The 3D house isn't much of a scare but definitely super cool to look at everything which i love, (especially if you hit your pen a few times before entering) My only critique is I miss the ability to pick and choose which houses you want to do opposed to the circuit they put you on. I liked being able to walk in and get to experience it all as a whole. Other than that hiccup I had the best time and will continue to come back!! Thank you staff!

I'm pissed I hardly ever leave 1 star reviews but this was awful. They had buy one get one . Every line was insane long. Even for bathrooms and food. Was there for 2 hours and only ended up doing one Haunt. There was only two people doing the scares inside. Complete rip off. Staff was clueless and didn't give a shit as they " had a long day and we're ready to go home". The cold didn't help. The manor was closed. The food lines were super long. The French fry stand is a lie. You'd think they have everything listed on the truck but nope. They only had normal frys and corn dogs. Nice to know once you wait over 40 mins in line to get let down. Another line I got turkey legs. Was over cooked and seemed the guy just made a price up $11. I asked other people I saw with them and they told me that paid $8 so not sure what scam is going on. On the bright side. We can come back and do the rest of the haunts. Seems like it's a good way to buy tickets. This weekend for the buy one get one and just come back when it's less crowded. There was nobody in the zombie paintball yet they were having people play? Not sure what that was about. Trash cans were over flowing. I attached pictures. Overall this place was a nightmare and not in a good way. Anyone who paid to park make sure you go to the ticket window and demand a refund for parking since you'll have to come back a second time to do the rest of be haunts. They will give you 5$ back. You guys really failed this year and I'm. Not happy. If anyone is looking for a better experience overall check out haunted overload in lee Nh or the goulog at cranmore these are the best around in my opinion and they care about their customers!

They tried. To scare me. But.... :)

Amazing actors! Full of amazing scares! The hayride was the best part! Loved all of the midway actors, just completed the atmosphere.

The hayride was not scary at all and it was a good way to get warmed up before the real scare.

We've been traveling to Spooky World/Mel's Fun Park for years. Our first few visits were great. As…read moreVIP visitors, we had an unlimited time playing mini-golf and riding the go-carts at the Fun Park until the event opened at 7pm. Buying one ticket and getting one free is a good deal for the opening weekend. Entering the event's main gate, we walked the grounds in the main court checking out the food vendors and other side attractions such as zombie paintball, a palm reading hut, gift shop, and the large bonfire. And not to forget the actors dressed in full scary costumes scattered around. Our first stop would always be the beer tent for a drink or two. We would spend time there and watch the scary dressed actors frighten the guests. With a slight buzz, and four main attractions to choose from, we picked the first one to go through. We always chose the hayride last. After the spread of a new virus in 2019, things at Spooky World had changed. There was now a thing called timed tickets. Visitors would have to buy a ticket for a time slot and line up for a haunted attraction that was selected by the Fun Park to walkthrough first. Visitors were no longer able to roam free around the main court when first arriving. This format remained in place after the end of the pandemic. Buying a drink was now from a booth setup in a section of the parking lot outside of the ticket/arcade building, next to the noisy go-cart track. Picnic tables were also there for use... but not many. This area, to be honest, was boring. Nothing to watch other than the go-carts, batting cage, and people in line for beer. A pre-made, roped off, path to each main attraction was now in place and to me felt constricting as if being corralled and rushed through to each haunted attraction. The roped path ends at the main court of food vendors and side attractions. (2 star rating) It's disappointing we lost freedom to wander the main court on arrival and pick what order we wanted to see the haunted attractions. It still gets a 4 star rating because the main haunted attractions are outstanding.

I feel like it's only fair that I add an update to my previous review of Nightmare New England, as…read moremy boyfriend and I went back on opening weekend of the 2010 season and we had a really good experience. Upon our arrival, we hit up the ticket booth followed *immediately* by the full bar inside Woodman's Restaurant. We each got a couple of "Jack-o-Lanterns" (a black and tan variation that used pumpkin ale as the "tan" component, and which was rimmed with cinnamon sugar) and proceeded to hit up the haunts. Admittedly, the fact that I was slightly buzzed might have made the experience a bit better on its own - but even still, props to this place for even having a full bar in the first place. There was a lot more action this year than last - more actors, more scares, more attendees - all of which added up to make the whole place feel a lot more energized and fun. Some of the individual attractions (of which there are still 7) were re-themed slightly, and the improvements were noticeable. All in all, I had a really fun time - I can comfortably say this place has earned a solid 4 stars and a confident recommendation that you visit if you're in the general area and you're at all into Halloween-related fun.

Since we got the groupon deal, every course was unlimited except the go kart. We enjoyed every course they offer, except maybe the mini golf. Looked like they are renovating another golf course, and building a new course. The flooring was uneven at the mini golf course. But the kids still enjoyed the mini golf course. The batting cage was a good too. It was fun for kids who like baseball or just hitting the ball because the machine spits baseball/softball out at you. The machine might not be in the best condition but we did make the best out of it. The laser tag was in a small building and we had fun in there. They are pretty good about letting you stay in there longer if no one is around. The go kart was really fun. It felt like the speed was set, and you cannot really go too fast. You also get one free med ice cream with one topping from the groupon. It was too much for 2 people to share that one med ice cream, so we claimed 2 ice creams at a time for 4 of us to share. All four of us enjoyed Mel's Funway. We were there for almost a whole day taking advantage of our unlimited everything. So instead of driving elsewhere for lunch, we ate at the diner there. Surprisingly the food is not bad. We had the stuffed tater tots and it was really good. We shared the ruben and it was not bad. The kids shared a chicken tender meal. Their french fries are good. If we are to go back there again, we will probably get their seafood; it looked like they gave you a big portion.

See photo of website that I checked today. I even had my wife call them to confirm because it is April 23rd and I wasn't sure if the season started yet. No one answers the phone. They just have a recording saying to check their website for days and hours. So we drove there. The ticket booth had a lighted sign that says, "Open" and listed their hours as Noon - 6PM Monday through Sunday starting April 19th but no one was there and many rides had tarps over them. We walked around looking for someone and finally found a person who worked there. They said they are only open on weekends. My wife explained that she called and no one answers the phone. The person said that we should have checked the website for their hours. She said, "We did and it says you are open." As does the lit up sign at the ticket booth! The person said, "Well all the rides are closed and covered with tarps." Anyway, my granddaughter started crying. She was so disappointed because we had told her all about the rides and bounce house and she had been so excited to go. We couldn't go back on the weekend because she was leaving to go back home to Maine on Friday. This place has gone downhill. This is the second time in the last year that it has been closed when it was supposed to be open and I will not subject my grand kids to this nonsense and disappointment, nor will I give my hard earned money to a company with such poor customer service. Save your money and go someplace where they will treat you right!
