Lots of fun. Some great scares. The performers were enthusiastic, and you get a lot for your money.

This was my second year in a row visiting, and while about 85% of the haunted houses seemed unchanged from last year, the overall production value and spooky atmosphere still make it well worth the drive to Nashua, NH. The set designs, lighting, animatronics, and sound effects across all five haunts are fantastic. The scare actors are super dedicated, stay in character, and do a great job pacing groups out so you actually get the full impact of the scares rather than just trailing behind someone else's jump scare. A few helpful tips & details from my visits: Pro Tip: I'd definitely recommend visiting during opening weekend if you can, as they offer discounted ticket prices of $25 vs. $41 full price. Parking Logistics: If you end up in one of the overflow lots, they run a well-organized school bus shuttle service that gets you back and forth to the main entrance. Photo Op: There are plenty of animatronics in the entranceway and they have an official ticketed one you can check out and decide if you want to purchase. My friend got the 2 pack which included a digital print as well as a physical print I think it was $30. The Dark Ride & Concessions: The Dark Ride ($10 cash only) was broken when we went, so they shut it down while my friends were in line. So this bumps it down by 1/2 a star to 4.5 for the ride breakdown. Once you complete all the haunted houses, it leads right into the concession and souvenir area. Don't skip the non-alcoholic specialty drinks--they change the light (green, blue, or red) to match your flavor and top it off with a fun smoke bubble! Fully Indoors: A huge perk for chilly or rainy October nights since the queue lines and haunts are all inside. Overall, it's a solid, fun Halloween activity especially if you've never been. Prior to this I've been to Connor Farm and the Screemfest in Canobie Lake and the Fright Fest at Six Flags which are more family friendly. You also will save a few dollars too booking online in advance compared to buying at the door in person.

Parking is easy, it's either in their main parking lot or across the street. Haunt jumped out at me. The process: Purchased tickets online (choose between entrance + 1 haunted house $25, entrance + all 3 haunted houses $40 or a VIP pass; Kids 3 and under: free) Parking- plenty of parking behind the event! Short walk Main entrance (no line at 6:15pm the Saturday before Halloween) one guy is checking ID's for booze, there is security (the bag restrictions are real so leave them at home) The music is blaring Halloween tunes (think Disturbia and Thriller). Right in front of you is a tower of skeletons. It feels exciting! We were immediately gifted 3 $5 Dunkin Gift cards. I asked why? They were sponsoring the event that night! Heck yeah! Then a woman greeted us and offered us a free popcorn combo cup. Think cheesy popcorn and Oreo popcorn. My little guy loved it. We immediately gravitated toward the main stage. Cornhole. Bubbles. Bumping music. My radio station was hosting- 96.9! Free cup and cozy! Another score! My husband was enjoying Bent Water beer. We eventually moved to Dino-land. Jumbo Jenga and Connect Four. My daughter and I branched off and went to Rise of ANNKH four her haunted house of choice. Only about a 10 minute wait in line. I will share- this event has money behind it. The visuals alone but in this haunted house a lot of working mechanics (I won't share too much but it was cool to see) and I did feel like this might be what its like wandering through the tomb tunnels in the pyramids. On a scale of 1-10, 10 being super scary it was a 4. We then hung out with the jumbo werewolves, exploring the little shops (little!) My husband scored another tickets so he could go into a haunted house with our daughter ($9 single ticket.) They went Into The Astray (no wait.) The review: it was wack! They told me the theme was smoke and fences. The little guy and I kept buy with a little scene set up for photos and met a Gravedigger. We ended our experience wandering around the graveyard. Great visuals! Overall- cool event. With this only lasting us about 1.5 hours I think they should be charging less to get in but we were all glad we did it. The 13 year old got her haunted houses and the three year old got the visuals, was dressed up, loved the popcorn, the music and the werewolves!

My wife and I are big fans of haunted attractions and have been to them all over the world. Ravenwood is a moody, artfully executed take on the haunted farm/corn maze attraction found in New England. What makes it unique is the attention to detail in the design of the props, sets, and costumes, all of which come together to create a beautifully haunting atmosphere. The location helps to set the mood. We drove down dark and windy country roads and arrived at a farm with a large white barn in some state of disrepair. Parking attendants guided us to park in a field up a hill. There is a bit of a walk from the parking area to the attraction and it is almost all downhill on dewy grass, so consider this when picking shoes to wear. At the entrance, there were several vendors selling doughnuts, cider, hot dogs, and even a bacon-themed food truck! We purchased premium tickets but, in retrospect, did not need to do so because the line was not very long. Actually, it was surprisingly quiet there for a Friday night. However, reading other reviews suggests that we just lucked out as the lines can be much longer at times. After waiting for a few minutes, we were led to a tractor-pulled hay wagon for a ride to the attraction with a dozen other people. From there, we were whisked (okay, towed) to the attraction at the edge of the woods. The attraction itself featured several parts, including woods, several buildings, a "cemetery," and a corn maze. Most of these were executed very well. At times, I found myself in awe of the eerie beauty created by the lights, mist, and woods. The actors and costumes were excellent, and most seemed very into their roles. There were a few places which could have been helped by more actors, such as the corn maze, which felt a little long by the end. Overall, it was a fun experience and I would recommend it. The people who built Ravenwood have created an impressive attraction that should only get better as it becomes more popular. I look forward to going back next year.

Haunted cornfields are probably the easiest and cheesiest attractions in the whole Haunted…read moreAttraction industry. It is very very rare to come across one that I actually enjoy. Dark Crop I found by accident in the middle of a nowhere road one night. Getting out of the car and looking over a huge corn field that is at least 2 feet taller than most corn fields all I could hear was random screams in the distance. I was hooked from the beginning. Typically a corn attraction grows paths that are about 6 to 8 feet wide. The corn is dead and grassy and only 7 feet tall just tall enough that its difficult for most to look over. At Dark Crop you get about 1 to 2 feet wide of a path with stocks maybe 9 feet tall and thick like bamboo. Your way is barely lit by tiny little lantern posts. Other places you are lucky if you feel lost in the corn, at Dark Crop you are STUCK in the corn. Actors are more into it then most places, every one of them actually had a character. And Let me mention they have a little farm stand where you purchase the tickets. In the coolers they have what I think may be some of the BEST Pumpkin Woopie Pies EVER! So that's a bonus. Dark Crop is the right price for a good little side adventure during one of your October nights. One of the best New England has to offer if you ask me.

Unfortunately, it seems to have gotten much more popular in the last year-- and with more people comes some really poorly behaved ones. Given how successful the Dark Crop has become, it would really be to their benefit to add some staff to manage the extra crowds. -We had a big problem with lots of large groups cutting in front of us. The line was already very long. Then groups of people would come join a friend in line in front of us. We came with a group of eight and waited at the entrance until everyone was ready. Other groups would send one or two "delegates" to get here early, then the rest would all come cut in line. It's annoying when one or two people do it, but when the number cutting far exceeds the number waiting? Really inappropriate. And it happened several times. The worst was a sorority/frat group that *insisted* they had called and the manager said it was ok... Then, literally over twenty people cut in front of us as more carloads arrived from campus -Family fun and long lines means lots of antsy kids. Running and screaming is one thing-- ok fine we are outside, I'll deal with it. But some big groups with bunches of kids just like totally gave up on parenting. Example: Kids climbing the apple trees and having contests to shake out the most apples. Other kids had contests trying to shine flashlights into others guests' eyeballs to make people "go blind." It was really annoying. And we had to deal with it for 90+ minutes. Those are the types of issues that could be solved by having some folks stationed at the middle at end of the line for the whole night. I know it's a small family establishment, but I really hope they can hire a few additional staff members to help manage the crowds. IDEALLY... Hold onto your horses... They'd have a system where tickets are sold by entry time. If you miss your time, you can wait in line on standby. Overall: the actors are just great and we had a really fun time. Unfortunately, we spent so much time waiting helplessly as the line grew infinitely longer in front of us... and poorly behaved kids harassed us... it was hard for us to get excited and leave happy :/
